December 3, 20159 yr Fun fact: The next single to debut outside the Top 10 and climb to #1 was ten years later in 2005 when James Blunt “You’re Beautiful” charted: 12-6-2-3-3-3-1 Not quite though :( DJ Otzi jumped 45-1 in 2001 when the UK CD was released having charted previously on import. Its run was allowed to be continuous as the UK catalogue No was the same as its European counterpart so arguably on a technicality.

December 4, 20159 yr God the Outhere Brothers were terrible. I hated it at the time and I still hate it now. :/
December 4, 20159 yr Incidentally, this title is part of a set of titles that are completely constructed by the same word repeated various times. x 1 Boom (Snoop Dogg Featuring T-Pain) x 2 Boom Boom (Black Slate, John Lee Hooker, Definition Of Sound, N-Tyce) x 3 Boom Boom Boom (The Outhere Brothers) x 4 Boom Boom Boom Boom (The Vengaboys) This really needs to be an Only Connect question if it hasn't already been.
December 5, 20159 yr This really needs to be an Only Connect question if it hasn't already been. It has been, earlier this year I think - they were played Snoop, John Lee Hooker and Outhere Brothers and had to guess the fourth.
December 7, 20159 yr Author The Original - I Luv Baby http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c32/tonyttt31/orig_1.png Date 13th Aug 1995 3 Weeks Official Chart Run 2-3-4-6-12-24-39-50-64 (9 weeks) *Positions in red are the weeks when the track would be number 1 if just dance music was chart eligible. Another hit that needed more than one release to have a smash! I Luv You Baby was written and recorded in 1994 by Giuseppe Nuzzo. Nuzzo was an Italian DJ, also known as DJ Pippi, who had been making music since the mid 80s. His only major credit at that point was a 12" release Legend b/w Skyline. This was recorded with associates C Monbaron and R Paladino. I Luv U Baby was written with Walter Taïeb who had also been recording music since the mid 80s. They hired American Broadway singer Everett Bradley to do vocals. The track was released and promoted in clubs in Spain and the UK in 1994 but failed to chart. After a lot of exposure in Ibiza in Summer 1995 a re-release of the track became a hit. It came with three main mixes - The Swing Mix, Tall Paul Mix and the Dancing Divaz mix. The song was a minor hit in Netherlands, Belgium and Australia. This was followed up by B 2 Gether which involved the same three performers, although it failed to match the success its predecessor. Walter Taïeb would move away from electronic and dance music towards classical and string arrangements, most notably working with Vanessa Mae and releasing his own album in 1997 The Alchemist's Symphony. Bradley continued to add to his carrer as vocalist by singing backing vocals to the likes of Bruce Springstein and David Bowie on tour. Nuzzo/Pippi remained in dance music and continues to record club tracks. The track remains a 90s club classic despite a certain Britpop battle overshadowing it's success in the official Top 3. December 7, 20159 yr I Luv U Baby is a 90's house classic and is still a good listen even if sounds a tad dated. And I've just realized that my favorite dance song of 1995 hasn't made into this list. RVukIhibLYM
December 7, 20159 yr Author And I've just realized that my favorite dance song of 1995 hasn't made into this list. I'm afraid Billie only managed to be the number 2 best selling dance single behind Livin' Joy for 1 week.
December 7, 20159 yr I forgot about I Luv U Baby, pretty good song, but to be honest nothing special. I'm also bit surprised it was the best dance song for 3 weeks running
December 8, 20159 yr I forgot about I Luv U Baby, pretty good song, but to be honest nothing special. I'm also bit surprised it was the best dance song for 3 weeks running  Biggest selling - not best!
December 8, 20159 yr Biggest selling - not best! Let's be honest - it probably was the best. I'd rank 'I Luv U Baby' in my top 10 best 90's dance singles. TUNE

December 9, 20159 yr Son of a Gun was a pretty solid dance tune, much better than the soft pap of The Original. Amazing that Jake Williams (JX) was only 16 when it was first released in 1993. Also seem to remember that Felix's Don't You Want Me was much weaker than the original 1992 release.
December 9, 20159 yr Author It's not amazing but in 1995 you'd only ever have two or three good dance tracks in the Top 40 most of of time. Unlike 91/92 when you might have 5 or 6.
