whilst the song has some really good points (those ooo's etc) she's essentially taking on a sound that's been done a bit by others already.

 

the real problem with the video is that demi just doesn't do that feminine male-appealing sexiness (which would make sense if the rumours are to be believed). her movements are harsh and clunky.

 

i can see why selena and demi's labels have pushed them in this direction now, selena manages it effortlessly and demi comes off..well, at least she's cool for the summer.

This has seriously hit me! Those verses are stunning. DEMI GET THIS ON SPOTIFY/APPLE MUSIC.

I actually think she looks quite convincing with this new whole persona. My problem actually is that I got sick of the song by like the fourth play... And I thought it would actually take me about 2 weeks to get bored of it when in fact just a night with it was enough.

I just watched her official videoclip. I like her new haircut and the song is quite catchy. However, her outfits are quite provocative. Miley Cyrus alert!

I said earlier that I thought this might be the first Demi song I'd love, but so far it's stalled at "like and appreciate" for me. It has a hell of a production, but the way Demi belts always grated on me. She tones it down on this song, and she even does some interesting things with her voice ("body tah-ah-ype", the way she kind of coos on the verses which I've never heard from her before), and all of those are good things...but I just can't get past the way her voice sounds as soon as she belts the chorus. Maybe I'll learn to look past it because there are many great elements in this song and in theory I should love the final product.

Random, but 'Cool For the Summer' is randomly the WWE Theme for Summerslam (the 2nd biggest WWE Event after 'Wrestlemania' - which got David Guetta & Skylar - Rise top 50 (?) on iTunes this year!)
