After a disappointing Christmas, everything from New Year onwards has been very good and very engaging. It helps that I really like the Carters, and the Slaters are my favourite Eastenders family. Lacey Turner is doing such a good job.

Something seems to have changed behind-the-scenes since the latest Exec Producer came on board. The show feels so much cleverer (personally I think the Lucy Beale mystery was one of the most intelligent pieces of soap I've seen.) Not only are they delivering on big shocking stories, but it's the small details - Anthony Trueman returning for Patrick, Ryan Malloy making a small appearance, Libby Fox popping in and out, even the way scripts are written - it feels much more realistic, and I think it's doing wonders for the show.

No one wants this though. One of the worst characters not just in Eastenders history BUT OF ALL TIME.

But it's realistic that a daughter would come and visit their mum every once in a while, especially when Libby only lives in Oxford.

But it's realistic and a sensible plot device, it has nothing to do with popularity.

Excellent casting choice, he's been excellent in Doctor Who!

It should have been Chelsea. Chelsea was an icon in the making.

I expect the actress playing Libby is easier to get hold of.
I honestly didnt feel the need to kill Charlie off. I think occasional visits from Charlie was better for the Slaters now that they have extended the family. Overall, i don't see the benefit of killing him off. I am happy he received Julia's theme for his exit.
I wish Shabnam had gone more mental in her reaction but her part seem mostly glossed over and as usual no one seemed to give a shit about her being betrayed.
It's been the 4th January in Eastenders for 9 days. It's all been great thought, albeit very emotionally draining to watch!
I was just going to say, why the xmas decorations are still up, a week later
I was expecting a last minute scene to be added as a tribute to Bowie but obviously that's not possible! :P
Kat didn't have the best of days - finding out she has a long-lost son, her father dying, her estranger sister returning, and finding out her fella has a brian tumor. Wow.
Omg SIA just rocked up in Midsomer Murders!
She basically played 'character in Midsomer Murders'. She was the alcoholic mother of the first murder victim. And yes, the Sia wig was present!
Absolutely loved tonight's episode, Eastenders has been amazing since after Christmas.
