Apparently Danniella said just before CBB she was in talks to return. I suppose it's only fitting that the original comes back for Peggy's exit.

Well, as good as Kim Medcalfe was, it can only be Daniella to come back. She worked with Barbara longer (Peggy was absent for most of Kim's stint) and she was the more recent Sam. It hurt credibility a little when it was Daniella who returned last time but it would completely demolish credibility to swap back to Kim again.
I guess the only reason Kim stepped in was because of Danniella's off-screen troubles and Danniella is doing just fine still so there's no real reason for Kim to return. Like you say, it would also damage credibility even further and it's, I assume, only going to be a small stint anyway.
It should be Danniella coming back. I personally preferred Kim, and found that her 2009-10 return under Danniella regressed the character. But, for the purposes of this storyline it would be fitting to have Danniella.

Shocking news about Peggy but I'm looking forward to seeing it unfold on screen.

I'm excited to have Grant back for a bit, I'll be very surprised if Sam doesn't return for a bit too. I much preferred the Kim Metcalfe incarnation but I agree that it makes a lot less sense for her version to return and having the original Mitchells reunited will bring all the feels which is obviously what they're going for e.g. when David (and Simon, sort of) returned for Pat.

Of course, we'll b missing the original Peggy

Roxy should be back by then and I imagine Glenda and a recast Danny will all be back throughout the lead up if not necessarily for the death. Oh and Sal of course.

I wonder if Courtney will be coming back with Grant? I guess so, but if it's only temporary they might not bother.

I think she was played by Jacqueline Jossa's cousin in her original appearance.

Courtney could come back full time potentially. She'd be nearly 19 now and she has the family in the square.

It will be odd, 20 years afterwards, that Peggy will go to her grave without the knowledge of her other grandson, Mark Fowler jnr.

I know we're lead to believe the Mitchells don't know about Mark. but I'm sure Sharon mentioned neither he nor Michelle could come to her and Phil's wedding in 2014 so I'm guessing they do?

I don't think so. It's the greatest secret in the history of soap. The audience have known for 20 years but no one bar Michelle knows of Mark's paternity. I can't imagine Peggy or Grant sitting still whilst a Mitchell was growing up in America. And besides, Michelle would have attended the wedding as Sharon's best friend, not because Phil is Mark's uncle.

Yeah, I definitely picked up on the similar voice and she does have similar mannerisms. I'm liking her so far though.
"Oh look it's Charlie's Angels..more like The Golden Girls"

There were some brilliant one liners today.

I literally called them Phil's Angels minutes before that line!

Can't they just offer Gillian Wright another permanent contract?
Are we confident of EastEnders picking up some National Tv Awards this week?? I would like to think they will, while i believe Coronation Street isn't a challenge this year, Emmerdale could be a shock winner. I say shock winner from the perspective Emmerdale never usually wins anything at the National Tv Awards.
I voted for Emmerdale although I'm worried that was a wasted vote given Eastenders and Corrie usually win these things, and I certainly don't think Corrie deserve it.
