They haven't won yet. Also how will Brexit cause a rift? Donald Tusk said recently they'd remain good friends with us and Boris and other ministers have said the same thing.

A rift in terms of trade, as has been told several times

Okay well we shall see.

Just saw this excellent piece on reddit - really puts what the Tories have been up to over the last year into perspective:

I really am reminded of the slow boiling frog analogy - where things change slowly, little by little, until the normal shifts. That person is bang to rights. If you'd told me in 2017 at their next election the Tories would be inventing assaults upon their politicians and spreading a fake 'Labour nanifesto' online that would have seemed like too much, yet, here we are and that's now documented reality.

They really do want their nice little one party state dictatorship, don't they? I was ringing the warning bells about how authoritarian they were becoming even as a minority government for YEARS. This is how fascism starts.

Maybe, but you're about as impartial an observer as I am... ;)

Cameron even installed tories into all the major posts at the BBTory befoee he left, a parting shot at the people The BBTory is now a disgrace. They know what they're doing. It all started with the weaponisation of a long-running Treasury joke between administrations. Evil Etonians.

You see conspiracies everywhere :P

It's not a conspiracy when it's documented and true x

You posting every single day how you hate the Tories, is simply your opinion, *not* documented 'truth'.

And that's also not a conspitacy, as it is a documented and true fact x

That you hate the Tories? Well, I can't argue with that! :P

Just look at the notorious page 48 of their manifesto. That's the bit that talks about reviewing the powers of the courts to overturn government decisions or legislation. The assumption is that they want to reduce the powers of the courts. After all, they have said or done nothing to suggest they want to increase those powers.

Let us assume that they do this early in their term, before they do anything about the Fixed Term Parliament Act. Having reduced the courts' powers, what is to stop them legislating to set the date of the next election as May 2030? Any attempt to do so at the moment would almost certainly be declared unlawful, but who knows where we might be after Johnson has finished with his meddling. This is not meant to suggest that they would try anything so extreme. However, it is meant to raise the question of whether you want Johnson, or any of his successors of whatever party, to have such powers.

Exactly. We are in a fight for democracy itself. We could very well end up with a fascist far right government- and that's just from wjat we've seen in the manifesto. Apparently, as Brexshit party and brexshit itself has shown, you can do just do whatever afterwards.

Think that part was written by Mark Francois himself

Enter "Vote tactically" into Google and the first result is a paid-for Tory advert.

Will that show up as an election expense?

I wonder if Reddit is less critical of dissenting opinion than Buzzjack?

I post on Reddit but about true crimes.

It should count as part of the national campaign expenses, yes.

What if it was done as a private citizen who just happened to be a Tory voter?

I would guess it would have to count as a donation. Otherwise you might as well not bother with limits at all. The whole area of social media use in campaigns needs to be reviewed as current legislation predates it. However, I can't see Johnson being in a hurry to do anything.
