July 21, 20159 yr I think the turnover of number one's is going to be more frequent now, can see Omi doing about 2-3 more weeks before The Weeknd takes over.
July 21, 20159 yr Fabulous to see 'Lean On' and 'The Hills' entering the top 10, two of my favourite songs of the year! Are both of The Weeknd's songs receiving airplay in the USA at the moment? Seems odd to see 'The Hills' still climbing when the focus clearly seems to be on 'Can't Feel My Face'.
July 21, 20159 yr Author "The Hills" has very minimal airplay but it's very high on both streaming and sales regardless. Not really sure what caused it to surge the past couple weeks. "Lean On" would've probably hit top 10 earlier but it started dropping on streaming out of nowhere, even though it's very high on the Spotify charts. Apparently there was an issue with the Spotify data and it also affected charts elsewhere? I haven't really been paying attention lately.
July 21, 20159 yr "Lean On" would've probably hit top 10 earlier but it started dropping on streaming out of nowhere, even though it's very high on the Spotify charts. Apparently there was an issue with the Spotify data and it also affected charts elsewhere? I haven't really been paying attention lately. Yep, there was missing Spotify data for a week and charts everywhere were affected. You can see the impact on the UK Charts as this week has pretty much all of the high streaming big hits having out of the blue rebounds.
July 21, 20159 yr Yeah, I do agree that "Lean On"'s previous drop was pretty much an anomaly due to Global Release Day, especially since it had been lingering in the top 10 on iTunes for the longest time. "The Hills" is the next format-exclusive single for Rhythmic and Urban, which explains why it's been picking up even with consistent sales.
July 21, 20159 yr Author Chart HighlightsOMI's "Cheerleader" stays at #1 for a second week. It tops Digital Songs for a third week after selling 172,000 downloads. Below "Cheerleader", The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" rises a spot to #2. The #1 contender keeps the Airplay Gainer honor, ranking at #4 on Radio Songs with 128 million in audience impressions. Furthermore, it leads On-Demand Songs for a second week with 6.2 million streams, and it keeps at #2 on Digital Songs with 161,000 downloads sold. Two songs enter the top 10 this week. Major Lazer's "Lean On" leaps 8 spots to #9 with the Streaming Gainer honor after issues with Spotify data were rectified; accordingly, the song flies from #31 to #7 on Streaming Songs with 9.6 million streams. On Digital Songs, the track drops a spot to #12, but with gains. The song gives Major Lazer and featured singer MØ their first top-10 hits and DJ Snake (as well as Diplo) his second. Below "Lean On", The Weeknd earns his fourth top-10 (and second this week) as "The Hills" rises 2 spots to #10. The song ranks at #5 on Streaming Songs with 12.4 million streams, and at #6 on Digital Songs with 94,000 downloads sold.Further Down: Sam Hunt goes three-for-three as "House Party" becomes his third top-40 hit in as many tries. The song jumps 2 spots to #39 on the Hot 100, and it ranks at #21 on Digital Songs. Given that last week's sales tracking period encompassed 11 days, sales percentages for most songs drop this week. One exception is Nicky Jam's "El Perdón", which jumps to #76 this week with the Digital Gainer honor following the release of its English version. The song has been the biggest Latin song in the US for months; it's been the top-selling Latin song for 15 weeks and the top-played song on Latin radio for 14. On the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart, it's been #1 for 20 weeks. Finally, this week's highest-debuting song on the Hot 100, Eminem's "Kings Never Die", arrives all the way down at #80. The track is the second from the Southpaw soundtrack to chart following another track by Eminem, "Phenomenal". "Kings Never Die" starts at #35 on Digital Songs. Edited July 28, 20159 yr by dhwe

July 21, 20159 yr Really happy to see Lean On finally reach Top 10 in the US!!!! Interesting to see Shake It Off and Style still hanging on to Top 50, especially since Blank Space is already gone and SIO looked like it was going to drop out this week.
July 23, 20159 yr "The Hills" is the next format-exclusive single for Rhythmic and Urban, which explains why it's been picking up even with consistent sales. Songs often go to #1 on those formats and not make the top 100 on iTunes. Also, The Hill's current airplay is negligible. So I don't think that's the reason. I think its the music video, general The Weeknd hype following Earned It and that thing that's been trending on Twitter for ages that uses the song which is keeping it high up the chart atm. I think it's going to be the next pop radio single too so it might be in the charts for a while. Edited July 23, 20159 yr by Eric_Blob
