Quite a bit of change, we lose Wake Me Up and Royals from the year's biggest hits! Adorn, which was the song to beat out Chase & Status on a tiebreak, does pretty well for a 25th qualifer, but doesn't quite make it through to the next round. Radioactive is also similarly close (:()

 

Seriously guys, that's a lot of AQs we lose, including Britney, Ellie and Gaga. Are you feeling alright? COOL was even top 20 last year. Part of this I'm attributing to a theory that'll suggest the year 2 years ago will always have the most change as it's been long enough to consider changes from what we felt at the time but not long enough to securely fix songs in our mind as being good or bad. Further to this, the older years have a rejuvenation of the hits as that's what more people remember, and in these volatile years, songs that weren't hits but loved can easily rise to the top.

Quite a good lot of new AQs, both HAIM songs included as well as Strong, which took forever to get off the ground so much so that I'm slightly surprised to see it here. Disco Love and Come & Get It meanwhile were in the top 15 for a lot of the time, Disco Love even started out the first part of the week in 2nd place! At least they won't have to go through the playoff next year.

 

Playoff winner Can't Hold Us and noted pure-voiced musician P!nk (feat. Nate Ruess) are also among the new autoqualifiers. Someone who almost needed to qualify again, Demi Lovato did a lot better this time, staying for much of the results in the top 10 and only on the last vote falling out of the top 15. Well done Demi I guess.

It's only the second first-round song to go through, but for me this is more a victory than any other as Still Into You grabs the wide appeal I saw it had in the first round to become an awesome playoff qualifier. I'm so pleased with that, thank you everyone who voted for it for keeping me smiling as I added this up. The rest of these 10 were around the area first time but 3 of last year's top 5 don't repeat the feat and some (Get Lucky) took a long while to get going.

While we do have a clear somewhat boring winner, Move was ahead of the competition by huge amounts throughout, the other 4 spots were very much up for grabs. Miley and Taylor were pretty much in the mix all the time, and Justin just needed a few pushes up, but in the latter half of the voting, The Mother We Share got a fantastic stream of points to send it straight through to the final and I'm very excited to see what it'll do there. CHVRCHES really have a superb song with that one.
