hmmm I wonder how releasing the single as soon as it hits radio will affect its chart performance?

I'm sure it'll get a boost when he performs live anyway.

I hope it's a good song & not just a leftover as he doesn't want people to start seeing him as a more of a presenter than a pop star. More danger of that with him fronting the main show.

Well One Direction and Justin Bieber have had number ones with on-air on-sale tracks this year - Justin's for three weeks on aggregate. I'm not saying exactly the same would happen - would be amazing if it did, obviously. TBH with you most of his singles get really heavy airplay really quickly - 'Wrapped Up' and 'Troublemaker' both did so I'd like to think that even if it just goes top 10 first week it'll be a slow burner of sorts and have a massive boost by the time an X Factor performance rolls round. There's definitely no danger of him being thought of as one thing more than the other.

Anyway...he's been teasing the single with screenshots of 'The Notebook' and 'Dirty Dancing' as to the single title...and now THIS is his Twitter header:

Captain Exciting Times

I wish he released it today instead of next week so he ain't in direct competition with Ben Haenow

A press release confirms that Taio Cruz has written this track...I didn't even know he was still going!

Small teaser is in convoluted interactive 'lips' thing on his website now: kissme.ollymurs.com

I think I'll wait till Friday...

Such a bizarre thing. Haha. I couldn't get it all to go at the same time and it was infuriating, however, it sounds like something that wouldn't have sounded too out of place on Brandon's latest album! :o
I heard this earlier and it is like a mix between The Weeknd (Can't Feel My Face) and Years & Years, but it's a great song and sure to be a massive radio hit!

Finally heard the full thing...LOVE IT! B-) So different to what else was on the album already but it really suits him, so soulful, funky, bit sexier sounding as well...can see this eventually being a big hit!
Wasn't expecting this sort of change in sound for him, but it really works for him! Love it.
I'm not overly impressed tbh, it's right down there with Army Of Poo and Please Don't Let Me Go as his weakest single for me.
After a couple of listens I'd rank it around 4th amongst his singles I think, behind Up/Heart Skips a Beat/Troublemaker.
Not 100% sold on this yet... It's solid enough but nothing I'll go mad over. Hopefully this is just like Wrapped Up compared to Up/Did You Miss Me/Never Been Better etc and there are much better songs on the album!
This is actually quite a smooth little tune, he was brave to come back with something not just straight up Olly and it's worked for him I think, hope this sticks around, some of the instrumental just makes me want to jig and sway

It's had some really good reviews actually, The Guardian in particular were singing its praises which is rare from them! I have a feeling it'll be a slow burner chart wise and really get into its stride when the video comes out and he performs it on X Factor etc. It's only been out a day and a half but already I've heard this a few times on Kiss, Radio 2 and Capital - now who would have predicted that breadth of radio coverage 5 years back when he had the first single?
It is slowly growing on me but it doesn't quite live up to Wrapped Up, Troublemaker, Dear Darlin' etc
