Posted September 21, 200619 yr Scissor Sisters are on course for an unpredicted chart double this weekend, with single I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ and album Ta-Dah both set to top their respective charts, according to early retail reports. The Polydor act’s release is keeping the much-tipped Killers single When You Were Young off the top spot, while their second album, released yesterday, is outselling the rest of Top Ten combined. Their 2004-released eponymous debut album is also poised to re-enter the top 20 thanks to the media buzz around Ta-Dah. The only other movement of note in the singles chart Top Ten is the disappearance of Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, which, despite witnessing a 31% sales increase this week, has been deleted and is therefore disqualified from the chart. Likely high risers include Janet Jackson and Nelly (Virgin), The Zutons (Deltasonic), Jet (Atlantic) and The Automatic (B-Unique/Polydor), while download-based new entries are likely to come from Pussycat Dolls (A&M), Lil’ Chris (RCA), Lily Allen (Regal) and Evanescence (Columbia). The album chart finds Justin Timberlake demoted to the number two spot, closely followed by the Fratellis and Snow Patrol, while Elton John’s the Captain And The Kid (Mercury) is in contention for a top five debut. Other likely new entries come from DJ Shadow (Island), Get Cape.Wear Cape. Fly (Atlantic), Fergie (A&M) and The Rapture (Vertigo). September 21, 200619 yr Author Scissor Sisters on course for strong first-week sales Source: Music Week Scissor Sisters are on course this week to challenge first-week sales by this year's top album sellers, Keane and Arctic Monkeys. The New York five-piece debuted with sales of 83,000 on Monday for second album Ta-dah (Universal), with Tuesday's sales bringing the total to 115,000. The band's sales have only been matched so far this year by Keane's Under The Iron Sea, which sold 222,000 in its first week on the rundown and Artic Monkeys' Whatever People Say I Am, which shifted 363,000 copies in its debut week. Scissor Sisters are expected to generate total sales of 250,000 by this weekend. Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake's latest album, Futuresex/Lovesounds is lagging behind with sales of 90,000 last week.
