Can this go 2x platinum without a re-release? I mean, it probably will, but this year?

The UK leg of the tour comes to an end on April 23, and they've been seeling like 7-9k a week. Without the tour the album will probably go down a lot. Hopefully single 4 (if there's one) helps it.

 

 

I think it probably can, I'd say easily, if they do a 4th single/ Another round of promo.

I think with a 4th single this should be double plat by around June/July time. Without, I'd still expect it to go double plat by the end of this year/beginning of next

Well not only is the album still going strong, it's back in the top 10 at number 8! It's also currently 31 on iTunes. Worth noting that exactly half the albums above it are Prince. Just under 76k needed for double platinum and with the increased interest from the release of Hair I'm sure the girls will get that double platinum cert this year

X2 platinum should be a breeze now.

Yeah I think now it's a case of when it goes 2x Platinum rather than if

I imagine it'll get there before Q4, but I'd still love a re-release accompanied by a September single beforehand, to push it even further past 600k. It feels a bit premature to abandon it in favour of a new album given how immensely successful it's been.

 

On another note, can we expect it to exit the top 20 this week with all the Prince albums entering? I'm hoping its perfect top 20 run isn't ruined.

Currently #14 and is on track to sneak back in the Top 10, but that's not baring in mind Beyonce, so it will just miss out.

14 is great what with all the Prince albums.

Whether it gets Top 10 or just misses out, that's half a year in the top 20, which is pretty impressive

Incredible to see the album back inside the top 10, but this time they've managed to get in on a narrow margin, as opposed to being kept out by a narrow margin! They beat Prince, by 5 sales. BRILLIANT. :cheer:
