These Four Walls says hello ...only missed single opportunity imo

Aswell! and with the gap between Salute and Get Weird, they could have done Nothing Feels Like You and then These Four Walls.

Competition is better than both

Mr Loverboy ftw

Much wasted single potential on Salute, just anything but silence for me would have been great, but then who knows what effect it would of had on the Get Weird era.

Funnily enough Mr Loverboy was one of my first choices when I first heard the album, I feel it would have been a How Ya Doin'? sized hit. Competition didn't hit me at first but the last few listens it really does scream sass and has a catchy chorus. But for me NFLY and TTW are stonger.

Salute was full of potench singles, i have to agree. I was certain Mr Loverboy would be a single when i first heard, for same reasons as you. I also really think Stand Down could have been a nice one to follow salute, or even Towers/These 4 Walls to slay a ballad.
Just noticed the album charted higher than Elvis this week, which is the first time since GW was released I think, so yey! Small victories and such
It's on par with Salute for me. DNA is awesome as well, but Get Weird is like a more progressed and better sounding DNA, and Salute is just a perfect album on it's own, for days when i want to hear a more dark side of LM
Yeah, I still JUST prefer Salute - the upbeats still sound SO good to me and it feels a bit more cohesive than Get Weird but they're both fantastic pop albums.

When it comes to general cohesiveness, lack of duds and the overall package...

Salute > Get Weird > DNA

Though I feel like there are higher highs on Get Weird than Salute.

Exactly! It's like 80% of Salute is a 8/10 and then Move is a 10/10.

But on Get Weird almost all the bops are a 9 out of 10 but there are some lows on the ballads.

The album is looking very safe for the top 10 at the moment. It is outselling every single album behind it and is also outselling Charlie who's ahead of them, so they should be at least 8 this week, we'll see what effect The Brits has. And then I'd say they could go top 5 the week after with the residual Brits effect/ Ant and Dec.

500k is looking certain for this album, but I really think they might possibly push it to doubly platinum, even without a re-release.

Chart run so far:

2-5-6-4-6-6-6-6-6-8-14-15-18-15-8....

Including this week, I think they'll be enjoying at least 4 more weeks top 10.

Going by the momentum achieved i would be bitterly disappointed if Get Weird does not easily manage double platinum without a re-release. I solid re-release with a strong new single should push it towards triple platinum if handled and marketed correctly.

Part of me wants them to re-release because indeed it probably would go 3x platinum. But I also wouldn't mind the next album (I know they're recording already), because it'd mean they'd be eligible for Brit Awards again and might actually win this time. The only way they'll be nominated next year with a re-release is if SLS or something else sells enough to be nominated to Best Single.

I'd personally prefer a new album. Just because, although a re-release may send this triple platinum, I just don't see how they'd make it better with more songs, when it's pretty faultless as is. Plus I don't want to have to put my bank account under stress for buying an album i already have with 5 extra songs

Number 8 again this week. No sales yet but hopefully more than last week.
