February 12, 20196 yr Thanks Pippa. Yeah, I thought it might stablise a bit after Christmas but the Graham Norton medley seems to have done wonders for her.
February 15, 20196 yr I suspected the album would hang around despite its perhaps disappointing debut. It has enough hit singles to keep the album afloat streaming wise and I feel it could really start shifting numbers once Only Want You finally gets a push.
March 9, 20196 yr 7LMx4BFjYH4 Ugh, I love her so much. She sounded so good with the mini orchestra and choir. I'm really surprised that this isn't taking off at all in the US given it had the Super Bowl commercial, which I imagine is still being shown, and now this
March 9, 20196 yr I honestly don't know what else she can do in order to get a US hit, her promotion has been phenomenal.
March 10, 20196 yr Rita will never get a US hit (excluding Black Widow, which would’ve smashed regardless of her being on it). Come to think of it actually, how many British females do well in the US? Adele, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding? Even Anne-Marie has 2 hits there.
March 23, 20196 yr GOLD certified. She retweeted a tweet today what the BRITs account posted. And #32 this week in the UK. It’s never left the top 40 since release which is great news 17 weeks there to date just 5 more to go until it matches ORAs 22 week run. So glad I was proven right that after the week two drop she’d stabilise and then climb after Christmas. Just wish it peaked one position higher #10 would’ve been so much more pleasing than #11 :P Edited March 23, 20196 yr by Jordan Lee
April 19, 20196 yr Albums still top 40. 21 weeks there now if it stays there this week then it’ll match what her debut spent in the top 40.
April 19, 20196 yr I wonder if the album will be reissued later this year with extra content to boost sales?
April 19, 20196 yr That's actually a pretty solid top 40 run! Just a shame about the peak, one week earlier and things would be so different... :(
May 21, 20196 yr The peak doesn't reflect the success of the album. Thankfully it has sold steadily and a steady chart run to back it up. 150,000 is very manageable for the album.
June 5, 20196 yr Lol. That's really impressive but out of context it screams of Dua Lipa: Complete Edition leaping straight to #1 most streamed album by a female artist on release. I'm more surprised that Carry On, Ritual (and to an extent R.I.P.) haven't been added to the digital editions for an even bigger inflated number
June 5, 20196 yr A new edition of the album may come due to its steady performance and also that she now has enough to add to the original album to make it worth purchasing again.
July 9, 20196 yr Phoenix has now outlasted ORA in the UK Top 100. (Well it did two weeks ago tbh) 32 weeks in there where as ORA managed 30. I could also see a re release too. Maybe a Dua like re release where the album ends up having like 24/25 tracks on it Ritual and Carry On seem obvious ones? Maybe we’ll get a new solo single in the fall and the album re release will be tied with the one year anniversary. Watch her re peak at #11 again and get a big drop in week two and have a similar chart run year too
