It's a much more Suede-y album than the previous three. They said on Wednesday night that they wouldn't have dared put it out as their "comeback album" because it's rather more ambitious than Bloodsports.

I wasn't that fussed about this but tonight I have had too much red wine and ordered the special deluxe edition book thing.

So yeah, I'll have it soon enough and post what I think. At least your opening impressions seem to be positive.

Listening to this now and enjoying it so far (I'm on I Don't Know How To Reach You)... I can't particularly recall anything about any of them though, it's more the overall sound that I'm enjoying.

What I'm looking got are those amazing pieces of seductive and addictive meldoy that Brett was able to infuse all of DMS with. I'm getting more from this than I did with the last three albums. I love all the segueing - it makes it sounds more dramatic and magnificent - like DMS.

I love Suede and I agree this is a return to their roots type of album. I loved Bloodsports, nonetheless.

This was great overall on first listen.

Outsiders

The song I've waited 20 years to hear.

I would love to be 21 again and to be hearing Outsiders. It's glorious, beautiful and really gets me where Suede used to get me.

I'm two songs in to this, but it properly feels like they've got their spunk back. :o

Blows everything they've done this millennium out of the water.

Couldn't get through it all on Spotify. I quite liked Outsiders on first listen but grew tired of it very quickly.

Sorry, might be Head Music standard but no better than that. Definitely can't touch the first two albums.

I think it's better than Headmusic only because it's not as irritating. It's not as good as Coming Up.

Outsiders is still amazing for me. The rest might grow on me.

Yeah, by that comparison I basically meant 'not as good as Coming Up' which i guess will be on HeadMusic's epitaph :)
