At the time I LOVED this - as a teen pop loving fan the LGTI era was all over the place for me so was totally there for the pure pop of this, I’m sure Kylie hated it but probably didn’t care too much as she knew her PWL days would soon be over.

For Kylie it fulfilled the contract.

At the time i loved it as it was the return of fun Kylie after Lets Get To It which was darker in sound and didn't offer the fun pop element.

Where In The World was another good but very underrated track from that time.

Kylie leaving PWL was seen as a big risk at that time and i believe some of her fans were worried.

Proved to be a very lucrative long term move.

I would have preferred where in the world as a single at the time to celebration, I still like that song but celebration is a better tour song.
It should be a tour only song as she does it well on tour but other songs should have it made on the greatest hits ahead of it as I never hear of any fans of it as studio version or single.

Where in the World is a better addition to the original Greatest Hits than NYC is to the upcoming Greatest Hits.

With added songs on Greatest Hits releases, Ultimate Kylie provided the best in delivering both I Believe In You and Giving You Up.

Agree with this - PWL were just chasing the final £££ from Kylie and trying to get a big hit - I’m sure the fact that GMJALMT was the highest charting single from LGTI probably led them to believe ‘Celebration’ would perform the same. I don’t hate the song but wouldn’t seek it out specifically either.

I dont hate Celebration either.

I think there was a pun to the choice as it was a celebration of Kylie and PWL having worked good together and this was a celebration of that time (Greatest Hits)

I like celebration live but the studio version is flat. I found it it a disappointing final pwl single as it felt rushed and a just cheap cover version.

Even though it’s not a fan favourite and hasn’t aged well I’m surprised ‘Celebration’ didn’t do better.

It’s a well known song and also total pop - the GH reached #1 so there was still decent interest in Kylie after the underperformance of LGTI, also Kylie promoted ‘Celebration’ decently (She performed it on the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party - The teen Brit Awards of it’s day) so the fact it only just scraped Top 20 is surprising.

Has it done much on streaming?

Not in her Top 100 on Spotify so largely forgotten by the fans and GP.

The song is not popular on any avenue.

I sometimes query how much the record companies or artists know how fans feel about particular songs.

If this was taken into consideration Celebration would not be making it onto Greatest Hits releases by Kylie.

Financially i would think it would be better to have a Kylie original on the album ahead of a cover version too.
