Well I doubt she pushed it back herself unless she's bought out Syco from Simon and the rest of the management team!

I can't see anything in the article that suggests that unless you are just taking the headline literally. And even if it did say it was Fleur's decision, it'd just be PR speak I should think!

 

Syco would have made the decision to either escape a potential Adele release (which they've now made worse!), release it closer to the music video, build up more pre-orders or release it alongside an XF performance.

I don't see the problem with her pushing it back I mean it's only one week more anyway if the song had been out a while and she pushed it back then that would be a different story . Also I'm pretty sure though I could be wrong that the reason it's been pushed back as she will be performing on the first X Factor Live Show next weekend .

So BBC Radio 1 have confirmed that Adele is premiering and (so we can infer) releasing her single on the 30th as well. With Adele and Ariana dropping new singles that day, I have a feeling this could well be overshadowed.

 

Hopefully the probable X Factor performance will at least allow it a top 5 position, but I'm not entirely convinced at this stage.

I thought Adele's song was just being premiered Friday I didn't think it was being released then as well ? I don't think Ariana is much of a threat to Fleur in the UK either tbh .

Probably because they have her on X Factor that weekend instead of this one coming. Also they are probably thinking 3rd week Adele will be easier to overcome than 2nd week (as if they are gonna get anywhere near to overtaking her, lol). May work out, but I just want to hear the song already.

Oh dear... it's frustrating to keep having to wait longer to hear this song in full. Her label seems under-confident...

You're right, they do seem under confident, but I have no clue what they expected from an OA/OS sale release. Of course people aren't going to pre order the song without even hearing it first, so they can't have the expectation of good pre order sales. If they are having second thoughts after Ben going in at #21, maybe they should premiere the song on radio this Friday and then release the following, with an X Factor performance and the release of the video? Would seem a little more logical than this constant pushing back of the premiere.

She's down to perform at the Oxford Street lights switch on this coming Sunday so we should get to hear it live in full even if we're waiting for the studio? :thinking:

 

Pushing back does feel pointless though if it's just going to be OA/OS, I don't know what they're waiting for. Like no one is seriously expecting #1/top 5 even straight off the bat?!

Fleur has confirmed on her Facebook that she's performing on The X Factor on the 8th November! :cheer:

X Factor are really pushing Sax massively. It's used as a soundbed all the time, now this ad slot tonight, and the song can't even be heard in full yet.

 

Meanwhile Ben is shoved into a last minute end of show Saturday slot after all of the performances, when a lot of people have probably already turned off!
