Bit of a heads up if you haven't bought it yet ... Sainsbury's are selling Now 92 for a tenner. Have only listened to disc 1 and the first 8 on disc 2 ... did the song by Grace peak inside the top 100 in the UK?

It's only £10 if you buy another CD with it

In The WSTRN write-up, it says the band 'converge at the butterscotch border of good melody and vibe'. Does this actually mean anything? I've never heard the word butterscotch used in such a way before, but not sure if it's just something really obvious that I'm not familiar with

Also, the tracklist info is here: http://www.nowmusic.com/now-92-info/

Interesting to see MNEK & Zara reverse credited in Ireland (and probably everywhere else in the world too, I guess MNEK is a bigger name in the UK). Not sure why this info wasn't published in the booklet this time, I guess so they had more advertising space for other products in the NOW brand, I didn't even realise info like this was allowed to be left off compilations, but there must be some loophole that says it's ok as long as buyers can access the details online.

What is the editing like on this album, guys? (I read in previous threads that some tracks were edited down & the cuts between each tracks weren't done properly?).

Seemed okay to me. Only listened to it on Spotify though, so I'm not sure it's the same audio.

Still made Now 91 used a weirdly shortened version of Shine, which was even shorter than the radio edit.

Editing is ok this time, no weird overlaps. Thankfully, seems like the complaints of Now 89 were taken on board.

This has got to be the first time in ages that none of the current UK top four have been on the Now album on release week. Also none of the current sales chart top five - it sort of makes the album seem like it's missing the up to the minute relevance that the Now series usually has.

I'm so curious to see what this is set to sell in the first week, I guess the winter release will always sell by the bucketload regardless due to people buying it as a Xmas present for family members.

But don't forget that this album is also being overshadowed by Adele. I'd be surprised if it still manages to sell nearly 300k by Friday

And that's the version which will be appearing on NOW Party Anthems

It's not. They're using the actual Radio Edit, The Now 91 version was a weird version I'd never heard anywhere that cut the best part of the song. I assume Now 91 meant to use the version that's on Party Anthems, it was probably a mistake.

Thanks for the explanations the other day! I ordered Now 92 yesterday... believe it or not that makes it my first Now purchase since Now 62 (from November 2005, so 10 years ago). :o

Now more than ever I'm streaming songs on Spotify and not buying as many, so the majority of the tracks that are included I don't have on iTunes. I bought it for £10 (in the "buy a chart album & buy Now for £10" deal). A lot cheaper than if I'd downloaded the songs legally when they were released.

I own these Now albums: 39, 46, 47, 48, 50, 52, 56, 57 & 62.

By the way, does anyone have a list of all (or some) first week sales of Now albums?

It was the version from the Channel 4 advert (#ChooseLight, #ChooseDark, #ChooseShadow)

Oh yes, it was. I still think they probably chose the wrong version for the album.

Agreed. I could understand for Lullaby since there was no room on the album, but on Disc 1 there was plenty of room for the full 4:17 version to fit. It's the same for Writing's On The Wall and Photograph on this album (48 and 37 seconds add up to 1:25, which added to 1:18:27 is 1:19:52, which means there was enough room for the full version)

Also, how come is Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) listed at 4:02 long? I don't think such a version exists.

NOW 91 cut out the instrumental which appears inbetween the third verse and the chorus

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi but I just bought Now 92 and the grammatical errors in the write up are appalling!! Do they not get anyone to proof read it before it goes to the publishers?
  • 4 weeks later...

I've noticed that these songs are shorter on Now 92 than how they were released:

Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall

Now 92: 3:49

Normal version: 4:39

AURORA - Half the World Away

Now 92: 3:06

Normal version: 3:19

5 Seconds of Summer - She's Kinda Hot

Now 92: 3:15

Normal version: 3:39

I'd imagine the 5SOS one cuts out the guitar solo between the chorus and "sometimes I'm feeling like I'm going insane"? That's the version Radio 1 played at least :heehee:
