I wouldn't be surprised if Adele managed 100k or maybe just under next week. No doubt she'll be on the radio 1 a list from tomorrow and she's been added to the Capital S list and Radio 2 A list too, along with the number 1 effect.

If Adele manages even to match the success Bieber has had with streaming (I think she'll eclipse it personally) then the collapsing download market will be unable to budge her from #1. I think she's guaranteed 8 weeks personally.

The #1 even with hype and pre-order only got KDA to just under 60K, that won't be enough to top 35-40K of streaming 'sales' plus her downloads.

Yeh that sounds about right for week two Joe depending on this weeks sales - if she does something like 220-250k this week she should still do 120k next week then she will stabilise at 65-100k for another 2/3 weeks.

Yeh your right KDAs decent held back preorders was the final nail in the coffin for held back releases IMO, would have sold so much more with an early release 60k after such a long wait for it is poor even if it ended up with a no1 hit!

KDA sold 54,591 downloads last week - a pretty poor total for pre-order /held back release.

The decline in pre-order/hype releases has been extraordinary:

Little Mix (July '15) 100,746

Sigala (Sep '15) 70,893

KDA (Oct '15) 54,591

Indeed all different releases of course but the trend is clearly downward - how much did KDA do without preorders?
With the album dropping next month I have to agree with that, the album is going to keep the single on top, 8 to 9 weeks incoming :D and could possibly return back to #1 the second week of Jan 2016, till we get sick of it  The charts are going to get boring week on week. She is coming for Bryan Adams weave. ;)

You think she'll block the X-Factor winner? :o

Not totally sure but they sold approx. 23K between Monday-Friday at a rate of about 5.8K/day which is WOEFUL.

I doubt it, but she might return a week or 2 later if sales are poor.

I reckon also she might do the odd chat show, Jonathan Ross or Graham Norton at some point.

Abandon the release schedule for the rest of 2015- Adele is taking up residence at #1.

Until the X Factor winners single is released. Let's hope she or Sigala can stop that getting Xmas #1 but I doubt that will happen

It's not like KDA was ever going to be as big as the first two though, Sigala and Little Mix had much bigger hype, KDA is comparable to something like Gecko last year - big but not huge demand.

That said, I'm certainly not denying that download sales are dropping dramatically.

Also, worth a thought that Adele could potentially knock herself off #1 with something (surely the only chart record she doesn't yet already have ) if the public take to some particular other track from the album like they did with Someone Like You, if she performs something else from the album on X Factor (doubtful I know but they could wheel her on twice).

Jess Glynne doing CIN would be a killer combo though, make it Saddest Vanilla (still locked as album only on iTunes) and that could challenge Adele (and nicely set up Emeli Sande for her own major comeback next year).

Jess Glynne's newest single is Take Me Home though isn't it?

Adele could easily wheel out a second single from the album before 2015 ends it's true, I had not thought of that.

Yeah it is

If Jess Glynne's CIN song is completely new and is released in a few weeks time I think she could knock Adele off #1 for a week. Gareth Malone sold 120,312 last year and Adele won't be doing those numbers in week 4 onwards.

Adele could definitely do a new song for the X Factor final although I'm not sure if the producers would want to risk her snatching the winner's chart weave(s)

Didn't know that, I wonder why they're leaving Saddest Vanilla album only then. At Emeli's record label's request presumably.

Yeah, the producers need to be careful if they have Adele on the final. If the X Factor winner 'only' shifts 100k downloads this year (bearing in mind the collapse of the download market) and I doubt it will be streamed much in week one/ever, then an Adele performance that makes a major impact could snatch the Xmas #1 from their hands with 150k sales maybe.
