OMG... 3rd :o I did 1 place better, I came 4th originally... ha

let bré explain it properly but i think there was an error in the original contest meaning you were actually 3rd and Evanescence were 5th instead of 3rd :o

A mistake...in a Pavel hosted contest? Surely not :o (does this mean Smack Me was supposed to be 4th in the original contest? *.*)
Not unhappy with that at all, considering Reloaded voters seem to favour UK chart hits or other already well known songs based on the results of the first six re-runs. Hopefully as we start moving into less well known territory (VII was already a lot more inspired) we'll see some more interesting results.

To be fair, I'm not the only one (and I know this) to say that the "inspired, non-cheap" songs this month were WELL below par. I'm not surprised in the slightest at the fact that the popular songs did well in this.

For me there were plenty of fantastic songs, I adored this contest and found loads of discoveries from it at the time, and it was nice to rediscover a lot of them too.

But that said, this contest was full of songs (including my own entry) that have dated horribly production wise and were very much of the pop style of the time, so in the 2015 context I agree that a lot of them sound quite underwhelming now. I guess I'm associating a lot of them with good memories of the time <3

I almost had a heart attack thinking you were saying I'd made a mistake. Phew.

Lots of the cheap songs were songs I'd heard so many times already so I didn't want to reward them. Lots of the inspired entries that got hardly any points did sound a bit dated yes but that would be because they're new to you and they sound like they're from 2008... which they are. If I hadn't heard say... Let Me Think About It or Toca's Miracle until now I'd probably say the same about them. Hopefully the contests with only a few cheap entries will be a bit more balanced (and hopefully NOT in the sense that all the votes go straight to the one cheap song there).

The hypocrisy

He talks shit about James (and me which was implied) for making a mistake in the semis but he makes a mistake here

PAV WHAT'S GOOD

lol... another contest where I should been higher  I bet there is an error with Pet Shop Boys/Love Etc just losing out on a final

I'm really glad to see that Imogen won! It was easily one of my favourites here, I've always found it so haunting. Good result for Adele too *.*

Thanks for hosting Iz, nice winner although it wasn't one of my favourites!

I do still have a couple of potential Re:LOADED hosts lined up but they have hosted something before (one is me for example) so if there is anyone that is yet to host anything BJSC-related who wants to, register your interest here and new hosts will have first priority! (Although the next Re:LOADED won't be until next year I think so there will be a little wait anyway)

Oh yes, this ~ Pavel indeed made a mistake!!1 Angelicland gave 4 points to Jem but 4 points were added onto Evanescence instead. So indeed Kylienips were meant to be 3rd, FSR Rontvia 4th and United States of Ibiza/Xanaga 5th. (Well 4th/5th depends on a tiebreak, I've based it on Untouched getting more votes but by the other tiebreak system Evanescence would still be ahead).

To spill more tea on Xanaga's legacy, another one of their bronze medallists (Glee Cast) actually came 5th as well (coincidentally this ALSO promotes an FSR Rontvia entry to 4th! Though in this case it was Quotosibb who should have come 3rd). There were a LOT of mistakes in the scoreboard for BJSC XXII. Natalia Kills did genuinely come 3rd for them though.

Anyway... I suppose it's good that we had a winner that wasn't totally predictable here (and thank GOD it wasn't Evanescence in particular), but I really can't say I was that big a fan of 'Hide And Seek' on first listen. It's not terrible, but the vocoder effect just seemed a little bit too much. I'm clearly in a minority here though. Well done to Mdiče for another posthumous win!

Adele far too low but at least she did better than her original result. And poor poor Camtoro getting that 0 pointer AGAIN! Although I didn't like this one near as much as 'Todo Cambió', and it's also definitely the weakest of Tokio Hotel's BJSC entries. :P

Wow...shame you weren't around/participating at the time Bre...all these missed mistakes costing some of my entries a higher placing (and countless other countries) :drama:

Jesus, we've actually gotten WORSE with how we vote than we were at the time! If we'd been voting at the time like we have for the Reloadeds so far I honestly doubt the contest would have made it this far!

Roll on the next few contests, but at this rate I can see THE SATURDAYS winning X.

If they don't win VII first.

That one will be FUN with everyone rewarding Just Dance, I Kissed A Girl, The One and If I Never See Your Face Again. :( My only hope is that given there's MORE entries there there'll be enough discoveries to distract the more virtuous of us from having to vote cheap.

Well like I and several other people said, nearly all the non-cheap songs in this contest were just... not very good. I guess they must have sounded better at the time.

I'll definitely be avoiding most of the cheap entries in VII anyway as they're faaaar worse than the selection from VI.

Perhaps, bit I think there's been a very obvious trend across all the Reloadeds, rather than just this one.

How are we doing the Reloadeds in the semi era BTW? One big final or just the finalists? I could see the latter getting controversial after a while, but I can also see voting rates really tailing off the more we have to listen to.

yasssss amazing winna

III was fairly bad for cheap entries (what with Mercy and The Final Countdown falling flat) but yeah in general it's been that way (and yeah, I'm not voting for any of them anymore because of this).

I think the best plan would be to make everyone vote twice and run proper semis just like in the original contest (no but imagine a whole alternate reality of different qualifiers *.*). Uh, I don't think we've decided yet but I'd prefer one big final for all of them. A bit of redemption for 'wrong semi victims' is one of the things I was looking forward to most. And if people are pressed for time then I wouldn't judge if they skipped listens on songs they already know and things like that.

The original plan was to just run the semis again (so getting different qualifiers most likely). Remains to be seen if many people will be bothered to vote 3 times for a Re:LOADED of course.

While the contests are still roughly the size of a standard final now, they could just be run as one big final and I'm sure they'd still get about the same number of votes. So that'll be for a while (until the late teens? EDIT: ok maybe a bit earlier than that)
