Here's the Blog Sound of 2016 list:

THE UK BLOG SOUND OF 2016

AQUILO - Calm sounding electronic pop duo from Silverdale, Lancashire.

AURORA - Norwegian singer who covered Oasis for the John Lewis Christmas advert.

BILLIE MARTEN - Yorkshire based acoustic singer songwriter.

GEORGE COSBY - London based singer songwriter with a deep voice and brooding songs.

HÆLOS - A band who describe their music as dark euphoria.

LISS - Four piece from Aarhus, Denmark who make slick sounding pop.

LOYLE CARNER - A spoken word artist with his own unique confessional style.

MABEL - The daughter of Neneh Cherry who is producing her own brand of soulful pop.

MURA MASA - An electronic producer and multi-instrumetalist originalLy from Guernsey.

MT WOLF - A reformed band who also featured on the Blog Sound of 2014 longlist.

NAO - Solo singer who mixes funk, soul and electronic sounds in her work.

PLEASURE BEACH - Indie rockers from Northern Ireland.

THE BIG MOON - London based four piece alt rock / indie band.

THE JAPANESE HOUSE - Amber Bain's solo project of electronic ambient songs.

YAK - Energetic rock group with elements of punk, garage indie and psychedelic blues.

Was absolutely delighted that Pleasure Beach made the list, one of my favourite new bands to come out of Northern Ireland in 2015. Then again, given that I was on the voting panel for the Blog Sound 2016 its inclusion was not a complete surprise.

Mura Masa is absolutely brilliant

And he's collabborated with Nao // who's also on the shortlist

Mura Masa announced in FIFTH place. Thrilled to see him getting a place in the T5 and "Love For That" being TOTD, stunning track!

Scott has said that for the first time there are two acts in fifth place.

Just heard Love For That on the breakfast show, brilliant track!!

I'd guess Nao is also fifth place, as the two have a song together?

I would've said NAO too, but I reckon she's a lot higher - critics/music reviewers go crazy for her.

Also announced in FIFTH place is WSTRN!

Don't get the point in having a joint fifth place but oh well. Meh at WSTRN.

Not yet listened to Mura Masa much, will get on with that.

A joint 5th? that's a new one  liked Mura Masa's output so far!

Could see the rest of the Top 5 looking like this:

01 Jack Garratt

02 Frances

03 Loyle Carner

04 Dua Lipa

(though that's a stab in the dark really. Izzy, Section Boyz, J Hus and Alessia could easily be in there too)

Delighted to see Mura Masa making the top 5, I'd be fairly surprised if he made any impact on the chart but fingers crossed. Erm at there being a tie for 5th? WD WSTRN I suppose, still pretty silly they were even on the list.

Know of Blossoms through 'Charlemagne' winning the last BuzzJack Nuggets contest - and it was my top pointer there as well so pretty good start for them! <3

Difficult for them not to choose to support the only band on the poll really - liking Blossoms a lot, so glad to see a T5 placing.

Every year, part of me hopes they just ignore the Critics' Choice winner, but Jack Garratt is an obvious sound of 2016, so I can't see them not giving him #1 or #2. I'd say Alessia Cara and Dua Lipa perhaps will take the remaining two spots. I'd be happy with that T5 (but really 6) I think.

really don't get the appeal of Blossoms...

Havent heard Blossoms before, must listen out. There was a joint no5 because its based on votes and they both got the same number of votes.

Hope Bonzai gets in the top 5, Doses is

Bonzai wasn't nominated :(

Come on people if you don't know by now the top 3 will consist of:

JACK GARRATT

FRANCES

ALESSIA CARA

It's really obvious that this will be the top 3, and i said it from the start....

but i am surprised SECTION BOYZ and NAO didn't make 4 and 5 respectively; so i guess it now looks like they haven't made it and i'll be shocked if one of them comes in the top 3 over Alessia or Frances!!

Dunno why people seem to think Dua Lipa or Loyle Carner have a shot at top 5, let alone top 3.

JACK GARRATT for me has this year's number one sewn up!!!

Obviously not that obvious, as you'll be wrong ;) Alessia certainly won't be top 3!

I have a feeling the top 3 will be:

1. Jack Garratt

2. Frances

3. Dua Lipa

I have a feeling all the R&B queens (NAO, Mabel & Alessia Cara) will get snubbed :(

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if Dua Lipa isn't top 3 now!

I do worry about Jack Garratt if he wins - I can't see him doing big things in 2016. Artists usually haven't had THAT much support as a solo artist prior to list. But Jack Garrat is on his 3rd song to be quite heavily playlisted on Radio 1 and I feel as though interest for him has been over-estimated somewhat? Considering how much airplay he's had, I don't feel the buzz for him, the way that there has been for previous winners Smith, Years & Years, Haim. It doesn't help that for me 'The Love You're Given' was head and shoulders above anything he's released since, for me.
