Has Adele surpassed Oasis opening week sales?

Not yet, but probably has at the time I'm writing this (including todays figure)

696,000 is the number to beat for the 3 day sale they managed in August 1997.

Seems to have been re-released/repackaged, with a different sleeve, I noticed it in the new releases section in HMV and it looked different to the version that reached No.1 earlier in the year.
Harder To Breathe, Sunday Morning, If I Never See Your Face Again, Must Get Out, It Was Always You, This Summer and Won't Go Home Without You are the missing ones that charted in the UK.

Other missing singles include Goodnight Goodnight, Give A Little More, Never Gonna Leave This Bed, Love Somebody and Feelings.

Any number of those could have been included.

Why on EARTH would they leave all those out and just put out a 12 track GH? It seems completely ridiculous, I literally can't think of any good reason.

But anyway, leaving that and the lack of promotion aside, a Greatest Hits album is pretty pointless in this day and age. I can't see any GH collection ever doing particularly well again, not even if Rihanna released (a long overdue) one.

In all the uproar over Adele does anyone have a mid week figure for the new Now album?
According to The Sun Adele is outselling the rest of the Top 600 combined.

We all know Adele is doing insanely well but do you have to belittle Justin's success in the process?

I don't *have* to, no - but I don't rate him as an artist, because of his almost total reliance on a very narrow, hormonally charged, fanbase... ;)

Really? You think he's relying on a "narrow, hormonally charged" fanbase in like the 13th week top 10 for What Do You Mean? His appeal right now is massive, and the success he's having proves it. Just because you're not a fan, doesn't mean his achievements should be rubbished because he's not Adele.

I think there's new stock of the CD/DVD version of the Cilla album (which comes in a slipcase, hence the different cover).

TV advertised again too this week.

I think a Coldplay one would do reasonably well.

Yeah these days It seems artists are releasing greatest hits albums to void gap's between studio albums
Vidcapper is such a sales genius but some of his posts are just trolling which is a shame

But where is the line between 'expressing an opinion' and 'trolling'?

But that 13 weeks isn't really comparable with similar runs a few years ago, as a significant proportion of it is due to the same people listening to it over & over, rather than just *buying it* once.

The above is a fact, not a troll...

Opinion acknowledges facts, troll post doesn't.

The fact is that Bieber is more popular than he's ever been and his music is widely considered good. The album has an average score of 63 on Metacritic. Fact is NOT that Bieber's music is only for teenage girls who are hormonally charged.

With it looking likely that 'Love Yourself' will be No. 2 on Friday, and with it essentially being an album track at this stage... what was the last album track to even go Top 10, let alone as high as No. 2? I remember 'Viva La Vida' going straight in at #1 although it was *sort of* a single wasn't it? Have any album tracks done as well since then?
