April 28, 20169 yr Author You're gonna wanna see it for more than Sebby tbh. Chris Evans arms are f***ing ridiculous in one particular scene! You'll combust. I'm pretty sure
April 28, 20169 yr No nakedness but he wrestles with a helicopter and it's basically just a very obvious showcase for his amazing biceps.

April 29, 20169 yr Absolutely loved it, possibly my favourite Marvel movie! 9.8/10 (Full review later!)
April 29, 20169 yr Well it's certainly one of the better Marvel movies, by virtue of having a much more compelling plot than they normally have, I knew they'd never go too far, but I was much more interested at the climax because I couldn't tell where it was going for once. I am a sucker for lots of characters getting involved so that was definitely part of the appeal for me. But yeah, good entry and possibly the best Marvel film I've seen taken on its own.
April 29, 20169 yr Thought it was really well realised. Didn't see the twists and turns in the plot coming at all and the new characters were fantastic.
April 30, 20169 yr I loved this film so much. I feel that they did my favourite hero, Spider-Man very well and it was amazing to finally see him in the MCU. I Can't decide between this, Avengers & Guardians for my favourite Marvel film.
April 30, 20169 yr Loved the introduction of Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Nice to see Ant-Man too. Way better than Age of Ultron and Batman vs. Superman but I preferred Guardians, Ant-Man and Deadpool. I think it's hard for me to invest when I haven't seen a lot of the previous Marvel movies, but I can't claim to particularly like Iron Man or Captain America.
May 2, 20169 yr I thought this was pretty close to being perfect. I mean there are some silly little niggles and things that didn't quite hit the mark, but they are mostly down to costumes (Black Panther basically playing catwoman, The Vision looking BIZARRE at times with that awful costume, the Star Wars joke which felt a little tonally OFF and things like that). The actual story was everything I wanted it to be, they managed to put across both sides of the story very well and played up the fact that it is a genuine moral dilemma for them and not just an excuse for a big FIGHT (like in BvS). It also made me like Ultron a little bit more because the after effects are pretty satisfying so far, even if the actual movie was still pretty poor and the big fights in this showed it up on that front even more. Plus yay at Emily VanCamp having more to do and the kiss was brilliant, especially the guys in the car nodding away their approval. Actually the humour in general was on point, Spiderman worked really well because they kept his one liners spaced out and they did a good job of sharing the load comedy wise between all the main cast which was nice. Even Iron Man was less of a dick than usual in this one, which really is something.
May 2, 20169 yr Also, because I forgot to mention it and I feel like it's necessary to remind everyone that I have NO SHAME, Tom Holland YES.

May 3, 20169 yr I didn't think much of it plot wise it just felt pretty flimsy, it felt more of an Avengers movie. I loved the scene when they were fighting each other, probably the best bit of the film, The Winter Soldier seems to be the best Captain America movie out of the 3. They got Spider-Man right, the new Spider-Man movie is out next summer. The Black Panther will be interesting when they finally release his own movie, pretty much made his mark in the film.
May 3, 20169 yr I don't see how you could call the story flimsy, it's much more detailed and involving than almost any other Marvel movie (apart from perhaps Winter Soldier). It's not a straightforward bag guy beat down storyline, of course, but that's exactly WHY it's so good.
May 3, 20169 yr I think my expectations were too high after the reviews - very good film (better than the similarly warring heroes Batman v Superman) but as always it's too long, too drawn out, and the premise and ending take some swallowing. Just saving the world not enough to justify collateral damage? Not very "American" attitude, least of all from a multi-billionaire hothead. Tony Stark/Iron man just got annoying skipping over little things like burden of proof, arresting American and foreign citizens (superheroes) and imprisoning without trial on the behest of the UN - please! It takes years for them to agree anything, not to mention the issues of international jurisdiction and holding them in international waters. OK it's comic book, but logic still applies! Don't get me going on the morality of taking a juvenile doing homework into an untried dangerous environment! That said, I liked the new introductions, the big cast, Paul Rudd was great, the new Spiderman looks like they will at long last dump the whiny teen-angst versions (and hopefully save us yet another rehashed origin story - we know it! Gets bitten by a radioactive spider, the end!) It was basically an Avengers movie, but lacked the script plotting and one-liners of a Joss Whedon movie, and the CGI seemed a bit off at times for the superhero antics. Scarlet Witch got to shine more, a plus, but overall 8/10. Not quite up to Avengers/Deadpool/X-Men Days Of Future Past, a bit less than Winter Soldier (but not much) and better than quite a few other superhero flicks
May 4, 20169 yr Saw this with friends this afternoon, very very good. 10/10. Spider-Man's costume was kinda cheap though.
May 6, 20169 yr Absolutely loved this, definitely my favourite Marvel film to date. Such a compelling storyline, a pretty good villain too and some absolutely fantastic action scenes. The Nigeria fight sequence had me excited enough (Scarlet Witch boosting Cap up on to the top floor, Falcon using his wings in such cool ways, Black Widow kicking ass) but nothing had me prepared for the flawless airport sequence. Everyone had their chance to shine (even Rhodey who usually doesn't impress me much as he is basically Iron Man II but more boring) but my favourite characters were Ant-man (Paul Rudd is so effortlessly funny and I love how cleverly his power-set can be used), Black Widow (I think ScarJo is great in this role and her fight scenes are so enjoyable to watch when she's basically just swinging around everybody's necks like a monkey , and she had an interesting moment when she let Cap and the Winter Soldier leave) and also Scarlet Witch (she just has so many cool moments, the best of all was her basically pulling a whole floor's worth of cars on Iron Man's head) but the whole sequence was pretty flawless and I loved the quips they threw in there to keep it light. I liked Zemo as a villain, not the most menacing at all but I loved they actually succeeded in getting them to fight each other and Daniel Bruhl is a pretty great actor too so I'm glad they didn't kill him off, hopefully we'll get to see him in a future instalment. RDJ is a pretty fantastic actor as well, watching him see the clip of Bucky and his parents for the first time was soul-destroying despite him probably being my least favourite character. I did rather like BvS too but I'm glad this didn't shy away from an "oh our mum's have the same name, let's go and fight the real bad guy" type ending and we were left with half the Avengers team on the run even. Ridiculously excited for all the upcoming films within the MCU but if I had to rank them, both Avengers and Ant-man and the Wasp are going to be a lot of fun I think.
May 14, 20169 yr I really enjoyed this, but then I am a Marvel superfan so I guess that's no surprise. The action scenes (particularly the introductory scenes at the beginning) were AMAZING. So engaging and intense. Black Panther was an interesting character - more deep and brooding than wise-cracking which is a nice change. I imagine the tone will have to be a little lighter for his own film though. I didn't appreciate that Spiderman was essentially included for comic relief - he's an AWESOME superhero, but his part was basically the kid who had been asked to tag along. I hope his solo outing shows us what he is capable of. All in all, a really gripping plot and executed brilliantly. I was torn - arguments for both sides are put across so well.
June 11, 20169 yr I don't see the point in making a whole thread until we have solid news about the movie, but apparantly Brie Larson is in the lead to play Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel *.* never thought about her in the role but she could NAIL IT.
