January 23, 20169 yr Bought Black Star yesterday and love it. The title track has really grown on me and is awesome.

A Black Star is a transitional phase that is created when a collapsing star is close to reaching singularity, where the star's influence becomes infinite and space time itself ceases to exist within it. Although the star at this point has died it has been transformed into something else altogether and its energy will continue to be released indefinitely. There are quite number of clues and references throughout the album, much like his 70's work was littered with multiple meanings, so too is this album. E.g. the video for Lazarus has him wearing the same outfit he wore in The Man Who Fell To Earth, a dancer performs the same routine from the Fashion video. The Narnia wardrobe reference. Bowie's most distinctive feature - his eyes - are covered with buttons, a oft used symbol for death or blindness. The video for Blackstar features a dead astronaut. February 22, 20169 yr Author I listened to this last night again. I'm really starting to liking it a lot. The hooks are unconventional and unexpected.
