November 28, 20159 yr Author Before we start, here are 5 albums that just miss out on write-ups. 31. Kelly Clarkson - Piece by Piece (2-4-6) 3 weeks 32. Foals - What Went Down (9-10) 2 weeks 33. Demi Lovato - Confident (5-6-9) 3 weeks 34. Major Lazer - Peace is the Mission (3-7-6-8-8-8) 6 weeks 35. Kiesza - Sound of a Woman (7-9) 2 weeks Edited November 28, 20159 yr by Josh.
November 28, 20159 yr oh my god is it that time of year already?!? looking forward to this chart anywé ~ looking at your list of #1s I hope 'Lean On' smashes its way to the top here!
November 28, 20159 yr Love that Kiesza album  I never expected it to be so strong but the standard was so high! Major Lazer's was decent but not quite up to their early discography. Lean On was the clear gem and nothing else bar that & Powerful made much of an impression on me.
November 28, 20159 yr Author 30. The Weeknd - Beauty Behind the Madness http://i.imgur.com/24ApKQY.png Chart run: (4-6-x) 2 weeks Hit singles: 16 Earned It / (47-20-16-22-41-x) 5 weeks 05 The Hills / (20-5-7-12-11-16-19-25-26-28-24-40-40-44-xx[3]-25-21-41-x) 17 weeks 16 Can't Feel My Face / (16-38-49-50-x) 4 weeks 21 In the Night / (48-21-28-x) 3 weeks Now this does look a bit of a bad chart run but it was hit at a bit of a bad time with lots of new entries around this time. I do like this a lot, on first listen everything did just blend into one generic song but after a few more I started to appreciate it. I definitely think he's better at uptempos like CFMF and In the Night but by far the best thing on here is The Hills as you can tell by the above chart run, that'll be appearing fairly high in my singles countdown too. Anyway here are my highlights: • The Hills • Often • Acquainted • In the Night • Can't Feel My Face 29. Disclosure - Caracal http://i.imgur.com/1LqFgwF.png Chart run: (5-4-6-7-9-10-x) 6 weeks Hit singles: 26 Holding On / (26-42-x) 2 weeks 09 Omen / (15-9-16-25-44-x) 5 weeks 17 Jaded / (17-24-37-31-46-x) 5 weeks 07 Magnets / (7-...) 1 week (so far) This ultimately was a massive disappointment compared to their first album, they did not change a single thing which meant this album did feel a lot less exciting than the first as if we could just predict what the next song would sound like. However, there are some gems in here including Jaded and Magnets and all in all, it does feel like a very nice, good quality, cohesive dance album. Anyway here are my highlights: • Hourglass • Magnets • Jaded • Omen • Nocturnal 28. J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive http://i.imgur.com/Q6tdiWz.png Chart run: (2-2-6-7-8-10-x) 6 weeks Hit singles: 03 Apparently / (39-6-3-12-32-x) 5 weeks I've probably not listened to this album since about March but it is a very good quality rap album, each song flows incredibly well from the last, he's good when he's singing, he's ace when he's rapping and I love how each song has a little quirk that makes this feel different to your average hip hop album. I'd never listened to anything of his before this but now I'm hotly anticipating his next offering. Anyway here are my highlights: • Apparently • G.O.M.D. • No Role Modelz • Wet Dreamz • Apparently 27. Kid Ink - Full Speed http://i.imgur.com/d9le8j1.png Chart run: (2-1-4-5-x) 4 weeks Hit singles: 30 Body Language [with Tinashe & Usher] / (30-35-49-x) 3 weeks 37 Be Real / (37-44-49-x) 3 weeks 14 Hotel [with Chris Brown] / (23-14-25-28-38-x) 5 weeks So this did tire on me quite quickly as can be seen from the chart run and I haven't listened to this in a long time either but at the time, this was just the ultimate album of pure jams, each song was just so catchy even though they weren't very good. If you're ever stuck on what to play before a party, I'd recommend this for sure *-* and Hotel is actually such a jam, Chris Brown and Kid Ink are the ulitimate collaboration partners. Anyway here are my highlights: • Hotel • Be Real • Body Language • Dolo • Like a Hott Boyy 26. Fetty Wap - Fetty Wap http://i.imgur.com/pP9tox1.png Chart run: (3-3-5-5-7-8-x) 6 weeks Hit singles: 09 Trap Queen / (38-20-13-9-15-21-40-47-50-48-43-x) 11 weeks 08 My Way / (35-29-25-15-13-11-8-12-13-19-14-22-31-42-x) 14 weeks 01 679 / 679 - Fetty Wap feat. Remy Boyz (17-3-1-1-2-3-2-2-5-7-12-22-29-38-...) 14 weeks (so far) 17 Again / (17-19-28-36-42-x) 5 weeks Much like Kid Ink and also covering his face with his hand, this was just an album full of jams, they just happened to be more jammier than the former. This album is just pure madness from start to finish, songs like Time, there is not one intelligible lyric in the whole song yet it is so damn catchy. Obviously the singles make this album what it is though, if you haven't liked at least one Fetty Wap song then you must have some sort of catchiness resistance built into you. Anyway here are my highlights: • 679 • My Way • Trap Queen • Time • RGF Island Edited November 28, 20159 yr by Josh.
November 28, 20159 yr Oops don't like too many of those :kink: Very disappointed by disclosure this era, only ever go back to magnets. The Weeknd's album is quite good; can't feel my face and prisoner are easily my favourites though
November 28, 20159 yr Considering I still listen to Latch, White Noise and You & Me 2 and a half years after the release of Settle, to think I only go back to Jaded and Nocturnal after only two months since Caracal was released is quite bad. I did like Magnets and Omen aswell, but Holding On, Willing & Able and Hourglass are no-nos. I do like Earned It, The Hills and Can't Feel My Face, so Beauty Behind the Madness gets a pass from me.
November 28, 20159 yr Good batch of albums there, The Weeknd can be pretty hit and miss for me but at least his best track is your highest performing! Discloure were indeed disappointing again after not even liking them all that much first time round - only Holding On & Omen really had any kind of impact for me. Nice trio of rap albums too the Fetty Wap album is good although it does all sound quite samey and he needs to stop saying 17:38 in EVERY song
November 28, 20159 yr Author Hi guys, thanks to everyone who has commented so far saying they're excited :D Oops don't like too many of those :kink: Very disappointed by disclosure this era, only ever go back to magnets. The Weeknd's album is quite good; can't feel my face and prisoner are easily my favourites though  Yeah, it was a bit of an R&B/Hip hop section so not to many people's tastes on here I guess  I was disappointed in Disclosure too but I suppose the album is pretty nice as a whole with very little standouts, not sure what they'd pick as next single if they did. I like it too, CFMF is definitely up there with the best on it, love the video for it too seeing as he seems to suffer from boring video syndrome much like Calvin Harris. Thanks UV! well top 5 in your album chart then if your doing one :P oh... sees first page  Oh yeah, she has a very good chance of that I think! Keep your eyes peeled :P oh my god is it that time of year already?!? looking forward to this chart anywé ~ looking at your list of #1s I hope 'Lean On' smashes its way to the top here! You can't really argue with 5 weeks at the top for Lean On, especially on my chart where I change the number one so much  but then again, Lips Are Movin and Love Me Like You also got 5 weeks so we'll see. Thanks Dan! Love that Kiesza album  I never expected it to be so strong but the standard was so high! Major Lazer's was decent but not quite up to their early discography. Lean On was the clear gem and nothing else bar that & Powerful made much of an impression on me. Yeah, it was pretty strong, mainly due to her excellent piercing voice, shame it just totally got lost in December and now she's yesterday's news. Loved how there was both dance tracks and ballads on it tooo. I liked Major Lazer's but just sort of forgot to go back to it, it was definitely a very high energy album and that's why I loved it so much. The new version of Light It Up is pretty good I think! Thanks Dobbo! Considering I still listen to Latch, White Noise and You & Me 2 and a half years after the release of Settle, to think I only go back to Jaded and Nocturnal after only two months since Caracal was released is quite bad. I did like Magnets and Omen aswell, but Holding On, Willing & Able and Hourglass are no-nos. I do like Earned It, The Hills and Can't Feel My Face, so Beauty Behind the Madness gets a pass from me. I also go back to You & Me often, as well as Help Me Lose My Mind. Nothing has come close to that this era because it all just sounded so samey to last time and so much less exciting. I agree Holding On is a no-no, so boring... Yeah, he's picked some very good singles so far, I hope In The Night is another success for him too. Thanks for commenting Taylor :D Good batch of albums there, The Weeknd can be pretty hit and miss for me but at least his best track is your highest performing! Discloure were indeed disappointing again after not even liking them all that much first time round - only Holding On & Omen really had any kind of impact for me. Nice trio of rap albums too the Fetty Wap album is good although it does all sound quite samey and he needs to stop saying 17:38 in EVERY song  Oh yes, The Hills is fantastic, Often is pretty great too but I didn't really know of him when that was first out. Holding On is not great imo, over five minutes of just boringness and synths we've heard before. I thnk that's why the Fetty Wap album dropped quite fast to be fair, it was just all the same but I liked them all so I suppose it doesn't matter too much, 17:38 is iconic now though  His next album should be called that tbh. Thanks again Dobbo :D
