It's that time of year again. It's been a rollercoaster of a year for me, some highs and some lows, but I've decided on 250 songs that define my year and I'll be counting them down in this very thread shortly.

Now, the key thing for now is that I haven't yet ordered them (well, most of them). So even I don't know the full results. Fun times. I know what 250 songs I'll be including though.

I will also be aiming for top 20 albums and top 5 artists, plus my favourite EP(s) of the year, but those quantities could change as I've yet to decide anything.

Basically, it's ALL UP IN THE AIR. And that's exciting :cheer:

In the mean time, these are my #1s of 2015. The 250 songs will also include the chart I post on the 28th (week 206) but the #1s of 2015 up to now:

03/01/2015 - Taylor Swift - Blank Space (1 week)

10/01/2015 - Rachel Taylor - Porcelain (1 week)

14/11/2015 - Fleur East - Sax (1 week)

21/11/2015 - Years & Years - Eyes Shut (? weeks)

As you can see, Hold Me Up had the longest run at #1 by quite a way. Will that be reflected in my EOY? Which of these will flop most? We'll find out soon :cheer:

Wow 250 songs is a lot to count down!

Looking at the list of #1s I'm hoping Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly & Luke Friend finish highly.

So excited for this, expecting many fabulous songs here

Yay for a big number countdown- mine will be around a similar amount this year I think! (at 255 songs so far with 4 weeks of the year left so hopefully no higher than 280!!)

From those number 1's, hoping Lighthouse, Trouble, Blank Space, Only Human, Dog It, Sax and Hello all do great here

while our tastes don't overlap much I'm still looking forward to this. Mostly to see how high the mighty Kygo can get with 'Firestone' *.*

While I finalise my top 250 (almost there!!!), let's take a look at my points chart for 2015. This is calculated from my weekly top 40, and counts from late November 2014 until week 206 posted yesterday (Saturday 28th). This is NOT my official Y/E chart, because I don't think it's at all accurate :kink: Of course, newer songs/albums are at a disadvantage too whereas they won't be in my final rank.

TOP 20 SONGS

1 896 Conrad Sewell - Hold Me Up [01]

2 808 Iggy Azalea - Trouble (feat. Jennifer Hudson) [01]

3 664 Luke Friend - Hole In My Heart [01]

4 631 One Direction - Drag Me Down [01]

5 629 Tom Odell - Real Love [01]

6 588 James Bay - Hold Back the River [01]

7 531 Charli XCX - Doing It (feat. Rita Ora) [01]

8 524 Ulrik Munther - Nån gång [01]

9 519 Years & Years - Eyes Shut [01]

10 518 Benjamin - Young and Restless [01]

11 499 Reed Deming - Crash Test Dummy (Broken) [01]

12 466 Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean? [01]

13 431 One Direction - Night Changes [01]

14 421 G.R.L. - Lighthouse [01]

15 419 Conrad Sewell - Start Again [02]

16 410 Cheryl - I Don't Care [01]

17 395 Troye Sivan - WILD [01]

18 381 Kygo - Firestone (feat. Conrad Sewell) [02]

19 375 Eduard Romanyuta - I Want Your Love [01]

20 367 Pia Mia - Do It Again (feat. Chris Brown & Tyga) [03]

As you can see, some 2014 leftovers still managed to garner enough points during December/the start of 2015 to chart here over some more recent tracks! Real Love, Crash Test Dummy, Night Changes and I Don't Care will not be appearing in my final Y/E chart. The top 2 looks quite clear based on points but will that be the case for the final chart?

TOP 10 ALBUMS (2015 only)

1 [03] 634 Meghan Trainor - Title [01]

2 [04] 523 James Bay - Chaos and the Calm [01]

3 [05] 513 Ulrik Munther - Allt jag ville säga [01]

4 [06] 495 Years & Years - Communion [01]

5 [07] 448 Charli XCX - SUCKER [01]

6 [09] 310 Lucie Silvas - Letters to Ghosts [01]

7 [11] 302 Hilary Duff - Breathe In. Breathe Out. [01]

8 [12] 297 Lucie Silvas - Lucie Silvas - EP [01]

9 [14] 274 Ciara - Jackie [01]

10 [15] 209 Fifth Harmony - Reflection [01]

The number in square brackets represents where they place in the combined album chart (comprising albums from any year). Meghan Trainor has a solid lead at #1 for albums, although she is only third when taking into account older albums. Of course, more recent albums such as those from The Vamps, One Direction and Justin Bieber are missing. Where will they chart in the final Y/E?

TOP 10 ALBUMS (pre-2015)

1 [01] 894 One Direction - FOUR [01]

2 [02] 641 S Club 7 - Best: The Greatest Hits [01]

3 [08] 322 The Vamps - Meet The Vamps [01]

4 [10] 309 Cheryl - Only Human [01]

5 [13] 285 Taylor Swift - 1989 [01]

6 [17] 176 Iggy Azalea - The New Classic / Reclassified [01]

7 [20] 143 Reed Deming - Satellites - EP [01]

8 [21] 141 Lily Allen - Sheezus [01]

9 [32] 102 Hunter Hayes - Storyline [01]

10 [37] 87 G.R.L. - G.R.L. - EP [02]

This lot won't feature in my countdown because they are from 2014 or earlier but it's interesting to see regardless. One Direction have by far the biggest album of the year despite being ineligible for my album countdown later on, with S Club 7's greatest hits album being boosted massively by their reunion.

Think the top two will by the same in your actual Y/E. Albums wise, I'd guess at Title and Made in the A.M. being top 3 with maybe James Bay or Ulrik completing it.

1 Conrad Sewell - All I Know - 3-4-… (2+ weeks)

2 Troye Sivan - WILD - 10-5-2-5-2-3-4-5-8-11-X (10 weeks)

3 Reed Deming - Sunny - 1-2-4-7-11-X (5 weeks)

4 Lucie Silvas - Lucie Silvas - 1-1-1-1-2-4-6-7-7-8-9-10-11-12-X (14 weeks)

5 Benjamin - Square One - 12-X-7-… (2+ non-consecutive weeks)

I think this is the one no-one will really care about so I'm using it to kick things off. Benjamin's EP has only recently hit me so it's managed to sneak its way in (helps that there's not really many others lol). Lucie and Troye's EPs both serve well as introductions to the albums that followed, and Reed's EP is very lovely even if it's not up to the quality of Satellites, my #1 EP of 2014. Conrad tops the list without even hitting the top 2 in my album chart, although it's been blocked by Justin, 1D and The Vamps so it's not hard to see why. All I Know is an amazing EP and would've had 2 weeks at #1 quite easily if there wasn't such strong competition. Much more on Conrad to come later so I won't talk too much about him now but the EP only has one flaw - the lack of his BEST SONG (Hold Me Up)

Top 30 albums are coming next, followed by my top 250 songs (with top 10 artists revealed one-by-one throughout the songs countdown).

26 Gabrielle Aplin - Light Up the Dark - 2-6-8-11-14-X (5 weeks)

27 Tove Lo - Queen of the Clouds - 10-11-15-X-4-6-9-11-14-15-X (9 non-consecutive weeks)

28 Little Mix - Get Weird - 2-6-10-12-… (4+ weeks)

29 Alesha Dixon - Do It For Love - 2-3-6-9-13-X (5 weeks)

30 Ella Eyre - Feline - 3-5-8-12-15-X (5 weeks)

My album countdown this year is slightly extended compared to usual, and we see some fab females kicking off the top 30. Ella Eyre has struggled to properly break through with her album but I think it's rather solid, Good Times was such a terrible single choice though compared to some of the less generic songs on the album :( Alesha Dixon made her comeback with a rather good album, and Little Mix achieved their highest charting album to date on my album chart with Get Weird. Tove Lo's album took a short while to grow on me but it's a pretty fantastic pop album. Finally, Gabrielle Aplin's second album. I was quite sceptical about this based upon the title track but ultimately it didn't disappoint me

ADORE all of those pretty much

26 Gabrielle Aplin - Light Up the Dark - 2-6-8-11-14-X (5 weeks) Love this, especially Light Up The Dark!

27 Tove Lo - Queen of the Clouds - 10-11-15-X-4-6-9-11-14-15-X (9 non-consecutive weeks) Fantastic album though Moments + Talking Body>>>>>>

28 Little Mix - Get Weird - 2-6-10-12-… (4+ weeks) Possibly my favourite album this year, just full of so so many pop gems

29 Alesha Dixon - Do It For Love - 2-3-6-9-13-X (5 weeks) This was quite disappointing but The Way We Are is a jam *.*

30 Ella Eyre - Feline - 3-5-8-12-15-X (5 weeks) Such a perfect album, all the singles/we don't cover/two/always/even if are all 10/10 moments for me

only #30 :( I haven't heard the others but I presume they are all good! ^_^ looking forward to the rest :D

Edited by ChristmasRobin

Feline and Get Weird are both lovely pop albums, the former lived up to all my expectations and there's just something so fierce in her voice - so gutted that there's a chance we won't get another album from her, she pulls of slow songs really well too. Get Weird is just pop tune after pop tune, the uptempos are much stronger but I like the slow ones too and LMLY/BM are two of the best girlband singles ever, so pleased it's selling incredibly well.

30. Feline - Amazing Album Comeback and All About You are my favouites from it

28. Get Weird - Loving this so many tunes in there

27. Queen Of The Clouds - Talking Body and Habits >>>>>>>>>>

26. Light Up The Dark - Love a bit of Gabrielle

21 RHODES - Wishes - 1-4-7-9-12-X (5 weeks)

22 Cody Simpson - Free - 2-3-6-9-13-X (5 weeks)

23 Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION - 5-6-9-13-X-3-6-6-9-10-14-X-6-12-X (12 non-consecutive weeks)

24 Fifth Harmony - Reflection - 3-1-3-3-5-7-6-9-10-11-12-14-14-15-15-X (15 weeks)

25 Saint Raymond - Young Blood - 1-2-4-8-12-14-X (6 weeks)

The #1 albums start to appear in this section, the lowest of which comes from Saint Raymond. Young Blood was a solid album but only just got to #1 ahead of Cody Simpson's Free after I met him in the summer at a meet and greet :heehee: Cody's album finishes ahead in the Y/E despite peaking lower and having a less impressive chart run overall. Free performed quite badly in my chart considering Cody's past smashes but the album is a completely new direction for him and I do still enjoy it. Elsewhere, Fifth Harmony's debut album performed rather well, climbing to #1 in its second week, and it's at #24 here now. Carly Rae Jepsen also performed quite underwhelmingly at first, peaking at #5 after the #1 debut of Kiss in 2012. E•MO•TION still feels lacklustre in comparison but is an enjoyable listen. Now preparing to be murdered by Ball. Finally, RHODES' debut album surprised me, I checked it expecting it to be pleasant but not exceptional. Turns out it charted ahead of Gabrielle Aplin's album despite her having huge success with English Rain in 2013.
