July 21, 20168 yr How I miss the days where drivers would push flat out on each lapolapo during the race and when there were 7 different winners in 7 races. What do yuou want to see back in F1?
July 21, 20168 yr To be fair the 7 different winners in 7 races (2012) was in an era where drivers weren't flat out each lap :kink: it was just one of those quirky runs where no one team was dominant & a few fluke results occurred (cough Maldonado). I really would like the see some more years like 06-10 they were exciting all the way through with no one dominant team. Unfortunately due to the nature of the Sport there will always eventually be one team out in front no matter how much they jig the regulations year on year. Update on the restricted radio rules: I'm glad they've introduced this mandatory pit in rule now as if we get a repeat occurrence of Rosberg @ Silverstone, if a certain drive happens to be 10+ seconds ahead of the next car they could just take the hit knowing there won't be any penalty for not conforming to the rules.
July 22, 20168 yr Author Rosberg has been re-signed to Merc (bet cuntface is thrilled) and Renault have finally come to the conclusion that their 2016 car is a complete pack of shite and have booted it out of the wind tunnel in favour of the 2017 car that the engine will actually fit in.
July 23, 20168 yr It was up there with Brazil 2009. A wild qualifying session actually one of the best for a long time until the Mercedes domination on the front row.
July 24, 20168 yr From an exciting qualifying to a very dull dour race in Hungary which the only excitement of what 5 seconds between the clash with Verstappen and Raikkonen. Renault unlucky not to score a point with Palmer's spin at a crucial time when running in 10th.
July 24, 20168 yr Author God dammit palmer. It's alright he won't be a Renault driver next year. He was a lotus hire for cash but unlike Pastor they couldn't kick him out so have stuck with him for the year. KMag was a choice of convenience but he's young and has potential so I can see him being kept
July 24, 20168 yr Renault showed much better in this race. Palmer and please surely Gutierrez at Haas doesn't look like a F1 driver. I'd like to see Renault back completing within the Top3 teams next season. Sauber look a shadow of their former self just being very poor this season because of lack of funding. And congratulations to Ricciardo for winning the non-Mercedes Hungarian Grand Prix.
July 24, 20168 yr A bit of damp squib after the 2 classics we were treated to the past 2 years but the Verstappen/Kimi fight made it slightly more interesting at the end. Of course it wouldn't be a GP without Vettel moaning about blue flags, it's no wonder there's so many spoof songs about that  Shame there for Palmer yeah had a decent race up to the spin. July 31, 20168 yr Looks like Perez is in pole position to go to Renault next year, I can see why he would go despite it looking like a backwards step as you would expect all the factory teams to do well with the big regulation changes next year. It's a shame though, I love the Perez/Hulkenberg pairing at Force India - if they can beat Williams to 4th this year it would be remarkable! Assuming Perez does go then I think Wehrlein is probably off to Force India, I'd quite like to see that if we can't have Perez. I think Rosberg was hard done by today, we need to promote this aggressive yet non-contact driving rather than penalise everytime something small like what happened today occurs. I swear Hamilton has barged Rosberg off the road on various occasions, but now the couple of times Rosberg has done it to Hamilton or now to Verstappen, he has been penalised both times.
July 31, 20168 yr Author Yeah Rosberg has been unfairly penalised both times for thugs Hanilton has done unchallenged. Until Merc are dethroned (possibly next year by RBR as it sounds like Renault made a good 45-60 hp leap this year and has another big jump on the way for 2017) the FIA will continue to favour the douchebag. I reckon there's a 0% chance of Palmer keeping his seat. Reports were that Renault were furious when he was signed in the dying days of the takeover deal. Perez to Renault would be a smart move. They've the backing of the largest manufacturer on the grid which gives them an enormous amount of resources behind them. They came back with a Big Bang and made a lot of noise that while 2016 would be shit because the car is shit and designed for a Merc engine, there would be serious progress coming from 2017. To deliver on such an ambitious or move they will throw everything at being WC again
August 1, 20168 yr Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg's careers have similar patterns to Nick Heidfeld. Just never really reaching the top or getting into a quick car.
August 2, 20168 yr This Mercedes domination is even more boring than the Schumacher era of 2002 & 2004. I admit I did like Hamilton but after he ditched his Dad as manager and coming to the races. He became a spoiled brat. Why the hell would you ditch the person who supported you throughout their path to F1?
August 2, 20168 yr This Mercedes domination is even more boring than the Schumacher era of 2002 & 2004. I wouldn't go that far! At least there IS a title fight this year (for how much longer though I'm really not too sure) whereas in those years Ferrari had decided Schumacher was the only one obliged for the title with Barrichello playing second fiddle...
August 2, 20168 yr Author I've stopped watching races live because of it. If something exciting happens or Hamilton doesn't finish on the podium I'll check out the rerun on Sky but otherwise right now I couldn't give much of a f***. Danny Ric seems to think that RBR could seriously start to challenge the Mercs after the break. I think that'd be a long needed challenge. Hamilton's whole attitude just puts me right off. I can sort of see why you'd ditch your parent as your manager - if you want to play with the sharks you're gonna need more than a blunt pencil.
August 4, 20168 yr The German Grand Prix was the first one I've missed or not bothered to watch for a very long time. Could see Wehrlein moving to Force India if Perez moves to Renault. I would say Manor are ahead of Sauber based on performance.
August 10, 20168 yr Esteban Ocon has replaced Rio Haryanto at Manor for the reminder of the season. No loss there from Rio. Never looked like an F1 driver.
August 10, 20168 yr Author That's been coming for a while. Poor lad did fine to keep up with Pascal but didn't have the cash behind him that Manor need. Shame F1 has become so broken that money talks as much as this
August 25, 20168 yr Ha! Hamilton has given a 20-place grid penalty for this weekend's Grand Prix in Belgium.
