I thought the record company might put pressure on her to have another album out by the end of this year...to keep the current momentum going.

It may be smart to put the first single out the week of The Brits along with the live version. (SUREFIRE #1!)

If you REALLY want your cover seen, make a thread in The Lounge called 'My cover of Never Tear Us Apart by INXS' or something and just say 'here's a cover of Never Tear Us Apart, please listen and I'd be grateful for any comments', because that's not spamming. There's little point in coming in here pretending it's a new Adele single because it's not.

I'm very surprised since she's only just really hit the big time. Maybe she should after album 3?

She deserves a good long break tbh, but I don't want her gone for that long :(

In her interview with the Radio Times this week, she said that she plans on releasing the next one when she's 25 or 26 - I don't think there's a definite date for it set anywhere though.

I dont blame her. With all the problems she's had this year and she also said in her 60 minute interview she doesn't really like being hugely famous, so this will just give her a break.

21 will probably still be Top 10 by the time she released her next album though! :lol:

Adele has backtracked on her claim that she will take a five-year break from making music, revealing that she is heading "straight into the studio".

 

The 'Someone Like You' singer, who collected six Grammys at the weekend, told fans that she will be recording new material shortly after her appearance at the Brit Awards on February 21.

 

"I've a few days off now, and then it's the Brit Awards here at home and then I'm straight into the studio," Adele wrote on her official blog. "BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!"

 

Adele also opened up about her triumph at the Grammy Awards, describing Sunday's (February 12) ceremony as the "most incredible night of [her]life".

 

"Oh goodness! I'm absolutely flabbergasted," she continued. "I keep having flashbacks to Sunday night. The most incredible night of my life. Thank you to you all, I am so overwhelmed, it's the strangest feeling. I have constant butterflies and goosebumps, it's wearing me out but I LOVE it!"

 

Adele apologised for forgetting to thank several important people when collecting her awards, explaining that she was "totally unprepared" to win.

 

"Despite the phenomenal year, I swear I didn't think I had any chance," she said. "All the categories were full of people I adore with brilliant songs, records and performances. So not in my wildest dreams did I think to actually prepare anything proper to say just in case."

 

Adele recently described her recovery from throat surgery as a "really peaceful" time.

Great news, let's hope she doesn't change her mind again :P Hopefully the Bond theme is still on the cards.

Bit worried she's recording for a re-release right now! I guess the "no more singles" thing makes sense if they are doing the new album already though. Q4 release, maybe?

I read somewhere that Adele has been laughing about all these rumours of her taking a 5 year break and its a load of non-sense. Infact, I read she is returning to the studio to record new songs for her next album. 5 years would be a very long break at a time when she is very popular.
