After taking a few factors into consideration such as downloaded tracks that are paid for and are not recognised in the chart due to the physical counterpart rule, and the deletion rule, I have thought of these rules:

1) As soon as an online downloads vendor releases a track as a single bundle, or as a single track download (not as part of the album), the download will count toward the chart, and if downloaded from the album if it's on one, it'll still count as long as the vendor are also offering it as a separate download or separate download bundle package.

2) Failing the confusion in the previous rule, the OCC could instead change the number of weeks a download can count before physical release from 1 to 4. This allows as many downloads as possible to count towards the chart.

3) To prevent the chart being clogged up with album tracks, which can and will be a nightmare if it happens, the vendors can only offer the albums as bundles and not allow the users to download individual ones instead. This way only tracks being advertised as singles will be able to be downloaded.

Suggestions welcome please! :).

all downloads count towards the top 40 whenever they are released.

however when a deleated long runner dips below number 65 it can never enter ever again. that might give a chance for the indie labels to chart

and the definition of a hit to be up to #100 like in the usa

Suggestions welcome please! :).

OK -

1. All downloads to count from day of release.

2. No exclusions due to CD deletion or age.

IMO the chart should be based solely on sales - and if the lower regions are full of oldies, so be it. If new singles aren't good enough to break through, they don't deserve success!

3. The only restrictions I would be OK with would be ones on releasing too many versions of a single.

Totally agree, but I would add to that, inclusion of EP's and video downloads.

Video downloads - yes.

EP's - yes, as long as they don't exceed the usual rules of total length.

And Germany, and Holland, and France

All downloads that the vendor will be releasing as physical singles or intended to be download singles should be counted.

They should also be counted no matter how long before a physical release.

After all A SALE IS A SALE.

there should be 1 rule only. anything can chart and stay on the chart as long as there will be a cd single available

exactly - and the sooner the cd single is issued alongside downloads, the better.

well give them an extra track. make it 4

My dream about UK chart:

1. no deletion of singles

2. downloads added since official download release

3. no 52 weeks rule (gosh that is so stupid)

4. sales officially shown

5. no removing import singles

6. no A/B sides of singles rules

7. 200 should be official not 75 (err why the hell 75 not 85 or 32?)

dunno about lenght of records, but I think it should stay as it is

thats all :)
