I planned on beginning this earlier but stuff got in the way. So ALBUM TIME, as you'd expect not many ground rules for this one- as long as a record was released in 2015 (or at least given a uk release), it is eligible. I HOPE to finish this by xmas eve/xmas day, with the singles chart running from boxing day to new year or so Tons of great albums this year, to the point where i'd even feel this Album chart is a little more representative of my music tastes this year than the singles! Hope you like some of the stuff here, and if there's anything you've not heard that takes your interest why not check it out ~
December 21, 20159 yr Hi Seven Foals had a stellar album this year, wasn't keen on at first because thought it was a bit slow but it did grow a hell of a lot. Mountain at My Gates and Give It All are my highlights so glad they've been made singles.
December 21, 20159 yr Adele, Susanne and Tove my favourites there, all fantastic and amazing albums

December 23, 20159 yr Author 20 Marina And The Diamonds "FROOT" Key Tracks: Froot, I'm A Ruin, Immortal 19 Bleachers "Strange Desire" Key Tracks: Wild Heart, Shadow, I Wanna Get Better, Like A River Runs 18 Dutch Uncles "O Shudder" Key Tracks: Babymaking, Upsilon, Decided Knowledge 17 Years & Years "Communion" Key Traks: Foundation, Shine, King, Desire 16 Neon Indian "VEGA INTL. Night School" Key Tracks: Annie, Street Level, Dear Skorpio Magazine, Slumlord -x- Marina & The Diamonds came through with a number of lovely pop tracks on her 3rd album "FROOT", then we have fun.-member-gone-soloist Bleachers with "Strange Desire" (technically 2014 but got a uk release this year so I'll let it in x [1]). After that we have some slightly more sombre indie-pop from Dutch Uncles on "O Shudder" and breakthrough stars Years & Years brought a debut record filled with plenty a likeable electropop track, meanwhile Neon Indian dazzled with a stellar, euphoric synthwave on his comeback album "VEGA INTL. Night School"
December 23, 20159 yr Author 15 The Go! Team "The Scene Between" Key Traks: What D'You Say?, The Scene Between, Blowtorch 14 CHVRCHES "Every Open Eye" Key Tracks: Leave A Trace, Keep You On My Side, Clearest Blue, Empty Threat 13 Kendrick Lamar "To Pimp A Butterfly" Key Tracks: King Kunta, These Walls, The Blacker The Berry 12 Jamie xx "In Colour" Key Tracks: Gosh, Sleep Sound, Loud Places, I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times) 11 Tame Impala "Currents" Key Tracks: Let It Happen, The Moment, Eventually, The Less I Know The Better -x- The Go! Team returned with a typically exuberant offering, wrapping some very nice pop melodies in frazzling guitars. CHVRCHES scored my #1 album of 2013 with debut effort "The Bones Of What You Believe", and they land in the Top 15 here with their follow-up "Every Open Eye". Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly" not only stands probably the most socially impactful and important releases of the year, but also a highly enjoyable listen- creamy smooth neo-soul instrumentals, with a splash of funk and jazz, with an upfront and pretty varied delivery from Kendrick throughout. At #12 is the airy, atmospheric house of "In Colour" by Jamie xx. Psych-pop spearheads Tame Impala land at #11 with "Currents", an album of love/separation (and the accompanying tidal wave of emotions~) sang mostly through Kevin Parker's soulful falsetto. (also; 'Disciples' is way too short!!)
December 23, 20159 yr Tame Impala  :cheer: Same place as it did on my EOY chart as well :o Marina, Bleachers, Years and Years, CHVRCHES, Kendrick, Jamie XX great too :cheer:
December 23, 20159 yr Communion is too low :( and you had the temerity to moan about it missing #1 in my album chart!!1 :kink:
December 23, 20159 yr Author Communion is too low :( and you had the temerity to moan about it missing #1 in my album chart!!1 :kink: Because it was actually in contention there!! :kink: I wish I could've placed the albums from Years & Years, Neon Indian, CHVRCHES etc. higher but tbf they were up against a very high standard of quality this year :o
December 23, 20159 yr Author 10 Oh Wonder "Oh Wonder" Key Tracks: Livewire, Technicolour Beat, Drive, Without You These british newcomers gradually revealed the pieces of their debut album by releasing a new track at the beginning of each month, with the full record finally landing in September. And I've been liking their sound a lot, the female and male vocals being molded together into one big, harmonious vocal, crooning smoothly over these very lavish tracks with very simple melodies. This set the stage very nicely for them, hope they can progress to bigger things in the future! zLAhRiUeJ8E
