Later this evening (hopefully) I will begin my end of year charts for 2015. For the first time since 2004, both The Corrs and Delta Goodrem were in action simultaneously, and both have multiple entries in this chart, but can either make it to the top of the singles chart, and can how will White Light do for The Corrs in the end of year album chart? The year had just sixteen No.1 singles, a joint record low with 2002 and 2012, and only boosted at the last minute by a weekly turnover of various Corrs songs at the top.

100-81

100. The Corrs - Ellis Island (#7)

99. Sigala feat Bryn Christopher - Sweet Lovin' (#9)

98. The Corrs - Gerry's Reel (#8)

97. The Common Linnets - Proud (#6)

96. Guy Sebastian - Tonight Again (#5)

95. Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds (#5)

94. Otto Knows - Next To Me (#8)

93. The Arrows - Next Time (#7)

92. Lauren Aquilina - Time To Say Goodbye (#5)

91. Major Lazer feat MØ & DJ Snake - Lean On (#9)

90. Pegboard Nerds Emoji (#5)

89. Years & Years - Eyes Shut (#6)

88. Omi - Cheerleader (#10)

87. Sheppard - Be More Barrio (#7)

86. Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean? (#7)

85. Isa - Don't Stop (#8)

84. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me (#7)

83. Susanne Sundfør - Delirious (#7)

82. Samir & Viktor - Groupie (#8)

81. Kylie Minogue & Dannii Minogue - 100 Degrees (#6)

The Arrows - Next Time

Sheppard - Be More Barrio

Isa - Don't Stop

Susanne Sundfør - Delirious

Samir & Viktor - Groupie

Kicking off the first section is two songs from the fantastic new Corrs album White Light - Ellis Island is a rousing tribute to Irish history while Gerry's Reel is a classic folk instrumental in the Toss The Feathers mould.

Representing this year's Eurovision Song Contest is the debut entry from Australia (*.*), Guy Sebastian's Tonight Again, a nice little singalong track that finished respectably in the top five in the contest, while Melodifestivalen is represented by Isa's Shake It Off tribute Don't Stop and Samir & Viktor's crazy infectious novelty song Groupie, which I sort of wish had been translated into English and released in the UK, it never leaves my head.

Dance hits in this section include Sigala's latest hit Sweet Lovin' and Next To Me by Otto Knows - it mystifies me as to how the latter never caught on, the string drenched drop is everything. Pegboard Nerds represent the dubstep contingent with Emoji, which just hit my top five for Christmas week, while Lost Frequencies hit No.1 in the UK with the chilled out Euro hit Are You With Me, which reminds me of a summer wedding I attended in Portgual. Omi's infectious Cheerleader, the UK's second biggest selling song of the year, also appears.

Rihanna's only good song of 2015 (unless she drops something else in the next nine days...) FourFiveSeconds appears in this section, as does Major Lazer's mega smash Lean On and the first of two Justin Bieber songs, the stunning career elevating comeback single What Do You Mean?

My two favourite acts of 2014, Sheppard and The Common Linnets, have done less well this year but still post entries in the top 100 this year, with a Pull & Bear promotional track Be More Barrio and album track Proud respectively.

Used on the trailers for Downton Abbey, Lauren Aquilina's gorgeous cover of the stunning Time To Say Goodbye makes it into the top 100, as does another very different ballad, the electronic wonder that is Eyes Shut by Years & Years and talking of gorgeous electro, Delirious by Susanne Sundfør just misses the top 80.

Sad times as The Arrows broke up this year, but not before scoring a couple of hits with two 2009 tracks early on in the year. Next Time peaked at No.7 while one more is still to come. But better times for Kylie & Dannii, who finally team up on an original song, the discotastic ode to Australian Christmas that is 100 Degrees.

Don't Stop  Easily my Melfest fave of 2015 when all's said and done. I really hope she hits back hard in 2016 and has a good chance :D
Corrs slayage <3 100 Degrees <3 dat Claire song too *.*

It was definitely a tune and a half and shows she has some real potential.

Corrs slayage <3 100 Degrees <3 dat Claire song too *.*

Plenty more Corrs to come <3 100 Degrees is such a tune, so glad we have an original Dannii/Kylie duet <3 Oh yes that Claire song was so good, such a nice reworking of One For Sorrow. The Deeper Shade of Blue version was nice too, but not quite as great.

Sigala, Omi, Lauren, Y&Y and The Corrs are all really really good from that section Rich. I've not heard the Kylie track.. oops :heehee: It's KYLIE though so no doubt I'll love/really like it :P

Here's 40-21 in the album chart of 2015:

40. Alesso – Forever (#2)

39. Jamie Lawson - Jamie Lawson (#2)

38. Carrie Underwood – Storyteller (#2)

37. Susanne Sundfør - Ten Love Songs (#3)

36. Walk The Moon – Talking Is Hard (#5)

35. Closer to Heaven (Original Cast Recording) (#1)

34. Galantis - Pharmacy (#5)

33. Marina and the Diamonds – FROOT (#3)

32. Zedd - True Colors (#3)

31. Lucie Silvas – Letters To Ghosts (#2)

30. Texas – Texas 25 (#1)

29. Nerina Pallot - The Sound And The Fury (#2)

28. Tove Lo - Queen Of The Clouds (#3)

27. Disclosure - Caracal (#3)

26. Fleur East - Love, Sax And Flashbacks (#2)

25. Leona Lewis - I Am (#3)

24. Måns Zelmerlöw - Perfectly Damaged (#2)

23. Kelly Clarkson – Piece By Piece (#1)

22. S Club 7 - Best: The Greatest Hits (#1)

21. Take That - III (#1)

Take That and Tove Lo are lingering around from last year while other chart toppers hanging around in this section include Kelly Clarkson, with a strong but relatively generic (for her) album, Texas with a greatest hits/new versions album, S Club 7's Best Of - with the addition of the gorgeous Rain - and weren't they AMAZE in concert - and the soundtrack to Closer To Heaven, a fantastic musical written by the Pet Shop Boys. Also in this section are new albums by former big hitters Carrie Underwood, Leona Lewis, Disclosure, Nerina Pallot, Zedd, Lucie Silvas and Marina and the Diamonds, certainly all very strong and enjoyable efforts though all have released far better in the past.

Fleur East's debut makes it in after a couple of weeks, it's a really fantastic - if not very varied - debut, while Alesso and Jamie Lawson also delivered albums that were better than I was expecting. Walk The Moon's album is largely helped in by two FANTASTIC singles while Susanne Sundfør's is an electro masterpiece, yet curiously one I haven't found myself going back to that much. Otherwise unmentioned are two of the biggest Swedish acts of the year - Galantis, with a quirky and fun debut, and Måns Zelmerlöw, with an album that in no way stands up to MZW but is at least 100 times better than The Barcelona Sessions, and features 3 or 4 utter tunes.

Here are the songs so far I like;

99. Sigala feat Bryn Christopher - Sweet Lovin' (#9)

96. Guy Sebastian - Tonight Again (#5)

95. Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds (#5)

94. Otto Knows - Next To Me (#8)

92. Lauren Aquilina - Time To Say Goodbye (#5)

91. Major Lazer feat MØ & DJ Snake - Lean On (#9)

89. Years & Years - Eyes Shut (#6)

88. Omi - Cheerleader (#10)

85. Isa - Don't Stop (#8)

84. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me (#7)

81. Kylie Minogue & Dannii Minogue - 100 Degrees (#6)

*catches up*

Particularly loving Eyes Shut and What Do You Mean? in the songs so far, the former is absolutely stunning and really allows Olly's incredible voice to shine (:basil:) through. What Do You Mean? has far surpassed any expectations I ever had for it chartwise and I'm still shocked at his huge success right now but I won't complain!

Lucie's album  So glad we finally got it!! It's really great, although I can't help feeling my hype has slightly died for it and I'd be loving it more if it happened 3 years ago. Still very excited to see her live in January though, that's something I've wanted to do for a long time. Speaking of concerts, S Club were PHENOMENAL live, best night of my life possibly (they pretty much defined my childhood :kink:). Rain is very lovely too and I'm so glad we got that in full after so long.

Excellent countdown so far Rich, I hope Delta manages to sneak the #1!

Thanks Joseph, agree with you about those two songs. I've never been a Justin snob like some on here (Fall of all songs went top ten for me in 2012!) but he's really stepped it up a gear this year.

Yes, it's so good to finally have Lucie's album, I suppose it probably felt fresher to me as - aside from the songs on the EP - i hadn't heard any of the others before the album, or if I had I'd completely forgotten about it  Enjoy the concert, I saw her in 2006 and maintain to this day that she was one of the best live vocalists I've ever seen, her voice is a powerhouse, she's so underrated. YES, S Club were incredible, so many highlights from that tour

Meghan Trainor is my favourite of the ones that didn't make the top 100

98. The Corrs - Gerry's Reel (#8)

97. The Common Linnets - Proud (#6)

92. Lauren Aquilina - Time To Say Goodbye (#5) Love this so much, beautiful cover  This was a 100x better than her lead single from her EP which I found so poor :( what did you think of that song (don't even remember its name!)?

87. Sheppard - Be More Barrio (#7)

85. Isa - Don't Stop (#8) Adore this   It is practically Shake It Off pt 2 and so much fun

84. Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me (#7)

31. Lucie Silvas – Letters To Ghosts (#2)

28. Tove Lo - Queen Of The Clouds (#3) Fantastic album; talking body and moments being my favourites

26. Fleur East - Love, Sax And Flashbacks (#2) Actually found this very disappointing and felt like most of the songs blended into one :( Would have been nice for there to be a ballad

25. Leona Lewis - I Am (#3) Shocked I loved this so much, nothing anywhere near as good as the highs on spirit/echo etc but it was a really nice solid album!

Fritz Kalkbrenner - Void

Paulini - By My Side

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott - The Austerity of Love

Tina & Rene - Mi Amore

Into the next section, which kicks off with Heaven, a tropical house banger from Alex Adair, which completely slipped under the radar. Such a shame because it's absolutely glorious sun-drenched fun. Other dance hits in this section include Mura Masa and Shura's beautiful Love For That, Fritz Kalkbrenner's Void, Avicii's Waiting For Love, Zedd's seven minute wonder and album highlight Papercut, which features Troye Sivan, Sigala's UK No.1 Easy Love and Galantis' huge smash Runaway (U & I).

The other unmentioned dance song is Save Me by South African Timo Odv, one of my BJSC entries, as was Paper Route's indie rock anthem You & I, which appears a bit lower down.

On the pop side there's Taylor Swift's Blank Space, Take That's much derided Hey Boy (which I think is rather fun, and catchy - if not exactly their best), Kelly Clarkson's anthemic tribute to Jimmy Eat World's The Middle, Heartbeat Song, Australian singer Paulini's By My Side, Madonna's comeback single Living For Love (famous for THAT fall at the BRITS) and Carly Rae Jepsen's cute comeback single I Really Like You, perhaps not the greatest showcase for the sublime Emotion but a big UK top three hit nonetheless and one of the catchiest songs of the year, so she's forgiven.

Years & Years also appear with their UK No.1 hit King, which has an irresistible chorus and production, and a leaked beautiful Delta Goodrem ballad called You & You Alone, which I was lucky enough to see performed live (more on that later), is also in this section.

Danish duo Tina & Rene's schlagertastic Mi Amore, which would have made a great - if cliched - Eurovision entry, having been one of the finalists in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is here, as is the unforgettable and fantastic Melodifestivalen entry Hello Hi by Dolly Style and the wonderfully quirky Mika-esque song The Austerity Of Love from ex-Beautiful South members Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott.

I know what you mean, a lot of Lauren Aquilina's stuff has been pretty forgettable (I don't remember either) but this was a lovely cover, shame it didn't have more success. Agree about Don't Stop, the resemblance is uncanny!

Queen Of The Clouds has grown on me a lot since I've got it, it could do with losing about 5 tracks but there's a really stellar debut in there. Yeah, I returned to I Am quite a lot actually, it was quite solid throughout for me.
