#25 Joe Stone - The Party (This Is How We Do It) (feat. Montell Jordan) [78 points]

17-20-28-34-53-58-64-x [7 weeks]

Spinnin' Records newcomer made his debut with the re-working of 90s hit 'This Is How We Do It' making it sound very up to date with it being a house song. It's quite the tune too even if it's not that original.

#24 Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo - Rhymes [87 points]

13-30-68-x [3 weeks]

British female DJ (not many of those!) made her chart debut with 'Rhymes' alongside regular collaborator Chris Lorenzo and the song became the first (I think) tech house song to make a chart appearance. It heavily sampled Busta Rhymes' reworking of Daft Punk 'Technologic', hence the name.

#23 Pep & Rash - Rumors [87 points]

17-33-54-73-x [4 weeks]

My personal 2nd favourite song of 2015, behind Avicii 'Waiting For Love', was instantly a favourite when it got uploaded to Spinnin' Records' YouTube channel and soon after it would make a small UK chart impact. Considering it's not the type of song that would usually be a big hit I'd say it did very well for itself, giving the duo a top 20 hit! Follow-ups have been released since but unsurprisingly none have made it anywhere near the chart.

#22 Justin Bieber - I'll Show You [88 points]

41-32-15-16-17-25-32-39-41-... [9 weeks]

Released as a promotional single from 'Purpose' and also given a music video, 'I'll Show You' benefitted largely from the release of the album which broke streaming records, spending three weeks in the top 20 due to streaming. It may spend even more later this year if they decide to give it a commercial push.

#21 Ella Eyre - Together [93 points]

12-26-40-60-67-x(2)-74-75-x [7 weeks]

Ella Eyre had quite a lot of bad luck with her first two solo singles, both missing the top 10. After a big hit earlier in the year featured on DJ Fresh 'Gravity' it seemed that she would be able to use this momentum to finally get that long awaited solo top 10, but it never came. Probably because the song sounds like a re-tread of 'Gravity'. Drum n' bass was tried yet again for the follow-up, the Sigma produced 'Good Times', but that only scraped the top 40.

I'm usually a fan of dance tracks - in fact, I love both 'Rumours' and ' The Party' in that lot - but 'Rhymes' is absolutely foul. Glad it's quite low.

Rooting for a Little Mix win, although I hope Alex Adair sneaks a top 10 position.

#20 Kanye West - All Day (feat. Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom & Paul McCartney) [95 points]

18-27-41-58-61-x(3)-74-x [6 weeks]

Kanye gave us 3 singles in the first 3 months of the year, which ended with 'All Day'. Or alternatively 'Audio Muted' as that's what half the BRITS performance of it was. Shockingly that performance wasn't the most talked about event of the evening, with Madonna instantly topping it with the infamous stage fall later in the show. We were meant to get a Kanye album last year too but we haven't heard from him in ages for no explained reason.

#19 Ed Sheeran - Photograph [98 points]

44-45-54-65-75-x(21)-43-72-61-62-65-64-65-x(16)-54-49-43-34-22-15-16-17-19-17-16-20-19-18-22-24-23-26-26-32-31-33-35-35-37-41-50-45-44-46-58-67-50-... [45 weeks]

One of the most boring singles of the year came from Ed Sheeran, who decided that making us put up with 'Thinking Out Loud' wasn't enough. Thankfully it didn't make the top 10 but it did stick around for ages and also outsold his own previous hit 'Bloodstream', a UK #2.

#18 Lethal Bizzle - Fester Skank (feat. Diztortion) [105 points]

11-22-30-42-48-66-x(10)-72-61-65-66-68-x(3)-72-x [12 weeks]

Lethal Bizzle, actual Bizzle, 10 years after his first chart entry got his biggest hit to date and the most commercial thing he's done too. Unluckily for him it was also his third UK #11 hit with him never having a top ten. With follow-ups underperforming it seems he may never get that elusive top 10 hit.

#17 Fetty Wap - 679 (feat. Monty) [118 points]

63-66-65-59-52-46-48-43-37-35-36-33-24-22-21-20-22-27-31-32-38-40-44-32-... [24 weeks]

'679' (named after Fetty's birth date) served as the follow-up to megasmash 'Trap Queen' and like the former it took a long time to peak (even longer in this song's case) and sold a lot considering its peak. Also, Fetty at #17 *.* (would've been even better if 'Around the World' was at #38 as well.)

#16 Michael Calfan - Treasured Soul [118 points]

17-29-44-63-67-x [5 weeks]

Another Spinnin' Records #17 hit appears! This time for established house act Michael Calfan who had been around for a few years already but hadn't a hit to his name until 'Treasured Soul', which made the top 20 largely thanks to radio 1 airplay and being a serious tune!!!

Rhymes and 679 are horrific!

Together and Photograph are by far the best tracks in their respective sections.

Treasured Soul is absolutely amazing  I think I voted it as my number one.

So sad Joe Stone wasn't higher though. A rare brilliant 90's remix.

DJ SKT and that Kiesza wannabe however :puke:

Lol, you do know it's actually Kiesza under another stage name and not a Kiesza wannabe, right? (Her name is Kiesa Rae Ellestad, thus the nick "Rae")

Agree with the Olly remark. Kiss Me is one of his best! Went way too early. Kanye should not have gotten this high :puke2:

these ~SICK~ :music:  tunes...

#32 Nick Brewer - Talk To Me (feat. Bibi Bourelly)

#27 DJ S.K.T. - Take Me Away (feat. Rae)

#25 Joe Stone - The Party (This Is How We Do It) (feat. Montell Jordan)

#24 Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo - Rhymes

#23 Pep & Rash - Rumors

... are FAR too low here.

#17 Fetty Wap - 679 (feat. Monty)

a BOP + a half :music:

#16 Michael Calfan - Treasured Soul

well at least this lush masterpiece made the top20 ^_^

how on earth did the banal 'photograph' make the top20 :manson: ~ that vamps aberration :puke2: has no business sporting a +ve score~ <_<

Treasured Soul is amazing, a song that simply never tires.

Fantastic seeing the Bizzle in the top 20 too! At least he's made top 10 twice on Sales chart :D

Would have liked The Party to be higher, loved it from the very first listen.

Hoping Coming Home can make the top 10 :cheer:

Lol, you do know it's actually Kiesza under another stage name and not a Kiesza wannabe, right? (Her name is Kiesa Rae Ellestad, thus the nick "Rae")

I'm sure this was disproven around the time it charted was it not? I was under the impression that it was just a huge coincidence.

Love both 'Treasured Soul' and 'Photograph' - the latter is Ed Sheeran's only bearable track for me now. Although the Felix Jaehn remix >>>

I can't at "Photograph" being above so many gems :drama:

That actually grabbed my attention more than the song ever did

My thoughts exactly :P

#15 Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea - Pretty Girls [120 points]

16-55-x [2 weeks]

Long gone are the days where a lead Britney single would be a megasmash, in fact her last top 5 hit excluding her featured credit on 'Scream and Shout' was 2008's 'Womanizer'. This broke a record however for being her first to miss the top 10 altogether, and it flopped similarly in the US. I'm glad it did anyway as it sounded like a desperate attempt at a hit and it wasn't that good past the first few listens. We haven't heard from her since so maybe she's redoing her album now (Rihanna Anti teas).

#14 5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot [123 points]

18-52-58-66-60-61-14-59-74-x [9 weeks]

5 Seconds Of Summer returned but similarly to The Vamps they failed to have any top 10s from the era when previous pre-album singles have sailed into the top end of the chart. This song did considerably better than 'Wake Up' however, entering the top 20 twice and also setting them up for good first-week album sales and a #1 album. It seems they're no longer really a singles band though as follow-ups haven't made much of a chart impact though they do have peaks in the top 75 as they were released as instant grats.

#13 Rudimental - Lay It All On Me (feat. Ed Sheeran) [126 points]

16-15-15-13-13-13-18-19-12-13-18-23-32-34-29-... [15 weeks]

Rudimental also had a big diminishing return for their second album era, with all their singles performing poorly in the chart. Except the ones that featured Ed Sheeran of course. Their remix of 'Bloodstream' (also on the album) went to #2 and Sheeran returned the favour by doing vocals for this song, a chilled dance effort rather than their usual drum n' bass. The whole era in my opinion though was quite poor, even this song didn't really hit it for me.

#12 Sigma - Coming Home (feat. Rita Ora) [128 points]

45-64-58-26-15-19-28-21-18-... [9 weeks]

Sigma prove that drum n' bass can still score a hit though, as current single 'Coming Home' is doing quite nicely. Of course helped by Rita Ora's presence on the track but her own previous single missed the top 20 so they must be doing something right. Quite a good song too but I'm not really a huge fan, they've had better.

#11 Mumford & Sons - Believe [130 points]

20-27-42-51-51-42-45-46-29-34-45-61-66-x [13 weeks]

Finally Mumford & Sons did a song without banjos and it kinda worked (i.e. it's listenable). Top 10 coming soon.

Well I obviously forgot to vote in this (I should pay more attention to these things x) - looks like most of my faves haven't done that well lol.

'Rhymes' and 'All Day' would have been my top 2 I think.

Ah so close for Coming Home! Not a bad result but the fact it's behind Mumford & Sons is quite irking...

Pretty decent section overall, I'm bored of Lay It All On Me now but it was good initially.

#10 Disclosure - Omen (feat. Sam Smith) [131 points]

29-13-13-15-19-21-26-29-30-29-37-44-48-51-62-x [15 weeks]

Disclosure made a really good comeback toward the middle of the year. Sadly, said song missed the entire top 40 but thanks to Sam Smith we did at least get one hit single from the Disclosure album. Which is quite good too actually. Easily the best thing Sam Smith's done all year anyway.

#09 Zedd - I Want You To Know (feat. Selena Gomez) [132 points]

14-23-29-36-47-50-71-x [7 weeks]

Zedd lead album #2 with then-partner Selena Gomez collab which got held back for so long that they split by the time it was finally released. To my surprise it actually went as high as #14 even though it was very disappointing, like most of Zedd's stuff recently. What happened to the Zedd that made greats like Clarity and Spectrum??

#08 Hozier - Something New [136 points]

63-36-27-24-19-19-21-22-25-30-32-40-44-54-58-72-x [16 weeks]

Hozier finishes in the top 10 of this contest for the second year running after 'Take Me To Church' but this time with a song that actually missed the top ten. The song's not half as bad as TMTC but still not something I like listening to.

#07 Kygo - Here For You (feat. Ella Henderson) [164 points]

18-38-57-63-66-60-47-42-56-73-x [10 weeks]

Kygo did really well initially for the OA/OS 'Here For You' but ultimately didn't perform as well as his previous commercial single 'Stole the Show' which missed the top 20. Next single 'Stay' could potentially be another top 20 for him later this year.

#06 Echosmith - Cool Kids [183 points]

74-60-39-28-17-18-19-28-28-45-49-46-50-60-60-66-x [16 weeks]

Average indie song got semi-big but thankfully only peaked at #17. Not a big fan myself.
