Following 1D split , I actually thought after Harry he would have an incredible chance of solo success and Strip That Down smashed worldwide but since it’s just been a massive mess.

He won’t flop hard like Zayn and twenty singles on the album will help the streaming but I could see this debuting anywhere between 14-22

At least Zayn’s out here flopping while releasing inoffensive, authentic music
I’m not even surprised, the lyrics to almost every single he’s released is about his ego and sex etc, Jason derulo did it better
I've yet to see a review for this any better than 2★ Getting absolutely slated online.
He would probably do well to sign up for either Strictly or the I'm a Celeb jungle next year. Would be a massive coup for either show if he did but at this point it's the only thing that's realistically gonna raise his profile as his music quite patently isn't.

He has had some success with his singles so his solo career is not a complete flop and we cant judge the album success just yet as its just released.

It is not looking good for the album and the critical backlash on the album is not helping him.

I mean a LOT of the lyrics are very questionable, and it's right that people are calling them out. But the irony of Harry stans starting the hashtag on Twitter when Harry legit advocates for treating people with kindness... lmao.

No matter how much you tell your fans to do or not to do something, it just will never ever work. Each fanbase has a mind of its own

Number 8 in the midweek information today, that is a good start.

Top 20 should be safe based on that information.

Many expected Liam and Camila Cabello to struggle with their albums, Camila is currently Number 16.

I thought Camila would be higher than Liam this week but, I didnt expect either to perform as good as they could.

Straight guy fetishising bi women shocker :kink:

If an update is released today, it may help identify the official position for the album on Friday.

His XF audition shows he has a great voice, but his label are trying to turn him into this Bieber/Timberlake type figure that hasn't been "cool" for like 10 years now. The album is embarrassing when compared to the likes of Harry and Niall's stuff

In all honesty, just from reading the reviews (I have no intention to listen to a Liam f***ing Payne record) it reminds me more of when JC Chasez tried to have a solo career and went completely over-the-top sexual on songs as if he was trying to beat (off to?) Timberlake.

(with that said, I doubt Liam has any song as good as All Day Long I Dream About Sex)

He has had some success with his singles so his solo career is not a complete flop and we cant judge the album success just yet as its just released.

It is not looking good for the album and the critical backlash on the album is not helping him.

I can't really see where the album campaign can go from here? Interest has waned and his singles are doing nothing.

There's no reason they couldn't have just put this out two years ago.

The singles are definitely the best tracks on there, alongside Live Forever which is pretty good. The other new songs aren't really that memorable though.

From a BBC News article on him this morning, re. the Both Ways backlash:

So far, Payne hasn't responded - but when we spoke last month, before the furore erupted, he said Both Ways was his "favourite song" on the record.

In his explanation, the lyrics are about being open to new experiences and different sexualities, as we emerge into a new "world of 'love is love' and people becoming much more understanding about the way love is - and rightly so".

Payne indicated that the song had originated with one of his co-writers, adding: "I don't know who in the studio had actually been in this situation, because I certainly haven't, but it was an interesting song to write."

So he has absolutely zero experience being in a situation like this, and didn't know anybody in the studio who had either... but nope it's totally not fetishising bisexual women. :manson:

The albums come too late tbh. He should’ve released it in spring either this year or even last year. Waiting until now feels too late and like momentum was lost.

Liam is a good singer but the album isn’t that great. It’s not terrible either though just doesn’t really feel like it’s personal to him. Some tracks feel like left overs from other artists albums
