After posting a series of his cover versions to various video-sharing sites, Mendes earned himself a dedicated following of viewers. His mix of Ed Sheeran's style and Justin Bieber's also appealed to Island Records, who signed Mendes in 2014. That same year they released the then-15-year-old's debut single "Life of the Party." American radio initially ignored it, but the track entered the Billboard 100 singles chart at number 24, making Mendes the youngest artist to land a debut single in the Top 25. The song was also included on Mendes' four-track Island debut, The Shawn Mendes EP. The EP performed very well, reaching number five on the Billboard charts on its way toward sales of over 100,000, setting the stage for his full-length debut, Handwritten, in the spring of 2015. Preceded by the single "Something Big," Handwritten appeared to strong sales, debuting at number one in both Canada and the U.S. In 2015, his single "Believe" landed on the soundtrack for the Disney Channel fantasy musical Descendants. - iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2014 99 Life Of The Party -1- 2014 09 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart) (The Vamps Feat. February 5, 201610 yr Work is still pretty passable. Nowhere near FourFiveSeconds but it's pretty fun and I'm liking the lyrics (aside from the obvious hook). Very pleased to see Stitches off #1, getting uncharacteristically annoyed by this kid's existence.
February 5, 201610 yr Top 4 without Spotify http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/67d90ee8.gif Yes, that was the compromise with the Tidal promotion strategy, shame they use Artists in this way as their chart positions suffer.
February 5, 201610 yr Stitches is very bad. I Know What You Did Last Summer >>>> This is so incorrect :( Stitches is sooooo much better (not that IKWYDLS is bad)
February 5, 201610 yr This sounds as if it was made with one of those music apps you can download on the Apple Store or on Android Play. Who knows, maybe someone on this forum can have a massive hit? that already happened!! twice!! [Alex Day and 99 Souls, though neither were regular contributors and just came here to promote their songs]

Teaming up with, incredible young vocal talent, Dakota, Blue has swapped the original’s lilting guitar for an upbeat tropical house sound. 21 year old Jonas Blue has been busy perfecting his craft as a producer, spending time collaborating in studios in L.A, Stockholm and London. Blue takes his musical cues from pop and classic dance music, as well as from the Tropical House sounds of producers such as Felix Jaehn, Lost Frequencies and Kygo. His latest single came about when he had the idea to recreate one of his mother’s favourite songs that he remembered hearing on repeat as a child. Crafting the music came naturally to him but the difficult part was finding a voice who had the richness and depth that made the original so special. On an autumn night in an East London pub however, Jonas heard a unique, bluesy voice coming from the basement. He immediately knew he'd found the singer for his version of Tracey Chapman's classic 'Fast Car', that singer was Dakota. The very next day she was in the studio with him to record the song, and the results were just as he'd hoped for. - Facebook Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): Jonas Blue 2016 02 Fast Car (Jonas Blue Feat.
