5. Just Dance (feat. Colby O'Donis) 9.0000

 

The first to drop out of our top 5 with a perfect average of 9, is the song what burst Gaga onto the scene herself, Just Dance! This song got Gaga her first UK and US number one and had huge commercial success. I have to say, 8 years later, and I still can't help dance along every time I hear it, will it ever get old?! :o

04. The Edge of Glory 9.0303

 

Just missing the top 3 is the 3rd single from the 3rd album project. The Edge of Glory was at the time (and still is) a unique song in Gaga's singles discography. It's a soulful yet highly infectious and retro dance number, with whimsical vocals and a soaring chorus. The song's inspiration comes from the death of Gaga's grandfather, and the song tells of the final moment before death with an optimistic and glorious look back at life - it's both incredibly joyous and painfully heartbreaking at the same time. It starts with a heartbeat and ends with a flatline; the entire song is a metaphor for life leading into a GLORIOUS climaxing death.

 

The music video was controversial but not for reasons that Gaga had been known for... it was stripped back, simple and lacking all the GAGAisms of videos that came before. For many it was underwhelming but for some (including me), the simplicity worked and it allowed the song to speak for itself. A worldwide smash, and one of her most recognisable songs to date, it's still a beautiful, euphoric experience with every listen <3

'The Edge of Glory' is one of her absolute best. Such a gorgeous song :wub: Thoroughly deserved top 5 finish for it here :heart:

3. Poker Face 9.1515

 

Taking the bronze medal of the rate is the second single from The Fame, Poker Face! This is another classic Gaga song which gets me dancing along EVERY time I hear it, will some of her songs ever get old? :drama: The follow up to Just Dance, this song carries on the pop theme but lyrically delves into the theme of bisexuality, more specifically Gaga's personal experiences. This song has of course seen some incredible performances, but once again I'm going to shout out the acoustic version which appeared on The Remix :wub:

CLASSIC. The song that properly got me into Gaga and i've got such fond memories of loving it <3 Still one of her most iconic and the video is so hot too.

Dance in the Dark is okkk. I skip it half the time though as it is NOT the best on Fame Monster by a Texan country mile at midday. Shoylsn't be top 2 oop.

 

'Dance In The Dark' is incredible. So, SO pleased about it finishing top 2 here. It's got no chance against the behemoth, 'Bad Romance', but it's still great to say that it had at least a little bit of a chance!

Not completely guilty for not rating it though seeing it's slaying despite :cool:

 

(top 2 is stretching it a little, admittedly, I'd see it more comfortably at maybe #5 or so)

Hoping Bad Romance can win. Dance In The Dark is good but not better than her entire singles discography

Dance in the Dark being top 2 is true pop justice. An 11 well spent. Truly such a weird oversight, single wise (outside Aus).
