Did like 10 of those just to feel like involved but then I got exhausted. I've done my bit.

EDIT: Where's Nick, he should be here for this.

i'm heree :D

I really like this song, it's pretty good and can't wait to see the video. I really hope this becomes a hit for her, especially here in the UK where her last big hit was 'Scream & Shout' with will.i,am, and her last massive solo hit was 'Womanizer', wow can't believe she hasn't had a solo top 5 hit since 2008 and despite releasing some great tunes since then such as 'Til' The World Ends' & 'Work Bitch', still bothered that 'TTWE' didn't even make the top 20, it should smashed and out peaked the lead single at least.

So yeah really hoping this can put her back on top here, but at the moment I don't really know where to rank this amongst her other hits just yet, because I really need to listen to this more and give it some more time. Okay I know UK#1 is a long shot, but come on this at least deserves top 5, and hope it hangs around the charts for while and sells really well.

Also what I've heard of 'Private Show' sounds really good and interesting, so hopefully the full version of that will be great also. 'Make Me' has really good solid production and honestly doesn't need that G-Eazy rap, but it does add some flavour to it though. So yes this is definitely a great comeback single for her and something really different for her, which I like and glad she's not playing it safe. Let's just hope it pays off.

Fantastic post SamJudd, I completely agree with everything you said.
She's up to #51 on US Spotify today!
Doing so well in the US! Such a shame it's doing doing so well in the UK...

Capital are playing it though - not a huge amount but they are playing it. Hopefully they don't lose faith straight away as they're quite a fickle station and watch iTunes closely. The fact it's doing well on US Spotify will most likely have a knock on effect on UK Spotify, too, espcially if it mananges to get into the global top 50.

01. I'm a Slave 4 U

02. My Prerogative (not sorry)

03. Gimme More

04. Make Me

05. Baby One More Time

06. Womanizer

07. Hold It Against Me

08. Oops I Did It Again

09. Me Against the Music

10. 3

11. Work Bitch (also not sorry)

Make Me is growing. It's very sensual which is always a plus.

Make Me has overtaken Work Bitch. 😭

So now;

1. Baby One More Time

2. Gimme More

3. Slave 4 U

4. Make Me

5. Work Bitch

THE GUITAR IN THE BACKGROUND AND HER FALSETTO MAKES THIS SONG INSTANTLY ONE OF HER BEST. It's a perfect mix of early Britney meets modern Britney. It's current, yet, it envokes nostalgia of her original R&B influenced vocal style.

I'll try and do a lead single rank but 'Make Me...' is so new and her leads are SO good that I doubt it will break out of the bottom 3 for me yet.
Yesssssss!! Spotify Queen. :D

Spotify US

51. Britney Spears - Make Me... (feat. G-Eazy) | 287,076 [+45]

Spotify UK

109. Britney Spears - Make Me... (feat. G-Eazy) | 37,233 [+46]

Spotify WW

64. Britney Spears - Make Me... (feat. G-Eazy) | 635,155 [+20]

The first week sales for her lead singles in the UK are as follows:

463,722 Baby One More Time (#1, 1999)

124,000 Oops! I Did It Again (#1, 2000)

54,000 I'm a Slave 4 U (#4, 2001)

48,751 Me Against the Music (#2, 2003)

41,582 My Prerogative (#3, 2004)

17,608 Gimme More (#3, 2007)

46,550 Womanizer (#3, 2008)

42,425 3 (#7, 2009)

38,779 Hold It Against Me (#6, 2011)

31,783 Work Bitch (#7, 2013)

19,488 Pretty Girls (#16, 2015)

'Gimme More' managed 32,134 in its second week following its physical release.

Ignoring 'Pretty Girls' (which is a good rule of thumb in general) and the blip of 'Gimme More' due to its split release of physical and download, those are really consistent first week sales when you consider relevancy and singles market at the time.

The current thresholds for the singles chart are roughly 22-25k for #20, ~18k for #30, ~14k for #40 and ~12k for #50, so use that to guesstimate what 'Make Me...' might sell.

I feel like this'll be her lowest, BUT, it could climb very soon if Spotify goes well.
I agree, I think it will debut low (lower than Pretty Girls) but will climb and stabilise after the video is released and airplay increases.
I'm told it's playlisted on Capital, but if it keeps falling on iTunes at the same rate it might get taken off.
#22 in the UK midweeks - not looking likely to stay Top 40 at that rate, I don't think.

Not this week, I don't think.
