Muse should do one before they have to water the quality down much more - if they'd done one after The Resistance it would have been solid gold but now two more make-do albums and they've messed up the high standard of single that they managed to have from 2000 to 2009.

I would be very excited to see what they could put on one of those. Although I'm going to disagree, they do have some fantastic songs to put on, even if there are a couple of misfires from the newest albums (Dead Inside). And Muse on autopilot is still better than most bands. Although it depends how many songs you want on there, I'd happily see a 24 (or something)-track Muse Singles Collection but I know some people like to cut out a few things. The thing is with the longer ones that I've gotten off older bands is that it is brilliant at introducing me to their less successful singles so that's the format I prefer with these career summaries rather than cutting things down to 15 just because you feel you have to.

Scissors Sister's one would be fire. They haven't messed up a single.

Tori Amos could do with an actual definitive one after the "semi-concept" of Tale of a Librarian 13 years ago. If she did a cover that got her some air play she could go Top 10 with a greatest hits now.

yes!!! It's a pity Tales of a Librarian flopped so bad, never understood it, the track listing was ok-ish (although Caught a Lite Sneeze was missing) and even had new songs... no big promo probably

but other US artists had hd flop GH that I never would have expected, like Alanis or Moby, never understood why they flopped either...

Calvin Harris & David Guetta!

Calvin's would look something like-

- Summer

- How Deep Is Your Love

- Under Control

- Feel So Close

- Blame

- Drinking From The Bottle

- Sweet Nothing

- Lets Go

- Bounce

- We Found Love

- I'm Not Alone

- Acceptable In The 80's

- Ready For The Weekend

- The Girls

- Feel So Close

And Davids...

- What I Did For Love

- Dangerous

- Lovers On The Sun

- Shot Me Down

- She Wolf

- Play Hard

- Titanium

- Sweat

- Club Can't Handle Me

- Sexy Bitch

- When Love Takes Over

- Love Don't Let Me Go

All you've done here is just picked out each artist's selection of top 10 hits, I'm sure if it came to compiling a GH compilation they'd be a bit more imaginative and both artists would have other singles included on their respective collections too.

I'd love another Tori Amos one and you are right about her doing a cover that connects with people. Her cover versions are amazing and with the right song she could nail it.

It's hard to get more than 17 or 18 Muse songs on a cd because of their length. Dead Inside is actually my favourite on Drones

I think Tori's was released via her old label after she had switched labels. I seem to recall her relationship went south with her former label with her covers album being her last with them as she didn't want to even let them have any more new material. I think they wanted to release a GH and she agreed to it as she wanted it not to be something knocked out for cash but of course being Tori is meant it was very very odd haha.

Maybe I'm taking the phrase 'greatest hits' too literally?

And that was the point, 'something like' was meant to give a decent idea of some of the songs that would have been on there, it wasn't a definite prediction.

Faith Evans

Usher

Alicia Keys

Mary J Blige has never released a decent track list

Oh yeah, the format I hadn't considered because well, CDs being what they are these days, I think my consideration of future iterations of this type of this release are more along the lines of official Spotify playlists. Where thankfully length isn't an issue.

sure a Guetta GH would also include Without You, Getting' Over You, and the three collabs with Minaj

it's weird that rock bands are less prone to release GH, crazy that Metallica or ACDC have never had a GH, sure they would sell like bucketloads!!

Leona Lewis has enough of the material for it

A Moment Like This

Bleeding Love

Better In Time

Footprints In The Sand

I Will Be

Forgive Me

Run

Happy

I See You

I Got You

Stop Crying Your Heart Out

Collide

Hurt

Lovebirds

One More Sleep

Fire Under My Feet

Thunder

plus a Deluxe edition with a few fan favourites like Whatever It Takes, Outta My Head, Yesterday and such.

no, it counts to both no matter where you stream it from.

Surely it depends which copy of the track I click on as to which album (if any) my stream contributes to? If I choose the single/EP/remix release then it only benefits the single/track, if I happen to choose the same track but from the parent album it benefits both the single/track and the parent album, and if I select it from a GH album or a compilation it benefits the single/track and the GH or compilation as the case may be. So in a sense a parent album and a GH could both benefit from having the same popular track on it, in that some people will stream it from the parent album and some from the GH, but one single individual stream can surely only benefit whatever single or album release is is selected from at that moment by that user.

Why no Trouble :nono:

Don't think Leona will be releasing one anytime soon now she's changed labels.
The ones that are always the obvious ones are Coldplay, Muse and Rihanna. Beyonce probably has enough hits also.

The ones that I always hark back to are KLF. And Kate Bush needs to do a new one as her only Greatest Hits album is now 30 years old and she's had around 10 more hits since then.

Bloc Party

Mars Volta

Crystal Castles

Ladytron

They could all do with having a compilation each.

Ladytron have one and it's pretty great...

Why no Trouble :nono:

Sorry. Trouble should definitely be in it.

I think now would be the right time for Cheryl to do one. She's always been more of a singles than albums act on her own anyway - I know '3 Words' was a million seller but the rest haven't been. Once she finishes this next album of hers she should consider it.

Good call whoever said Mel C BTW. That'd be an awesome greatest hits!

Muse have enough hits to make one;

1. Time Is Running Out

2. Supermassive Black Hole

3. Uprising

4. Knights Of Cydonia

5. Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)

6. Plug In Baby

7. Newborn

8. Starlight

9. Madness

10. Psycho

11. Supremacy

12. Hysteria

13. Sing For Absolution

14. Feeling Good

15. Undisclosed Desires

16. Map Of The Problematique

17. Invincible

18. Butterflies And Hurricanes

19. Dead Inside

20. Dead Star

Although there's no way those 20 will fit into a single disc

Leona could release a greatest hits 4 track EP I guess, if one of those tracks was a new song.
