April 9, 20169 yr WD Rooney, and anyone else who scored a place :cheer: Very pleased with that result for Goonyella given he made a fair few jumping mistakes. Congrats to Rule The World, Mouse Morris, David Mullins and connections!

Congrats to Rule The World, Mouse Morris, David Mullins and connections! Was a race full of big mistakes! Never get why people go big for the favourites in the National. It literally is a lottery, it's very very rare the classiest horse wins!
April 9, 20169 yr Stuck £5 each way on Last Samuri on the basis that it the most Japanese sounding name. Won £15 for it coming in 2nd, so not too shabby.
April 9, 20169 yr Author 6th in the end for Ucello Conti. A very good race. The 3rd placed horse Vics Canvas was 6 years younger than the winning jockey. It was a race for the stamina horses for sure with the heavy rain and the change in the ground. All horses are safe and sound.
April 9, 20169 yr Only 16 finished but all 4 of my bets were in that bracket which I consider pretty good going! No payout for that particular feature though...
April 9, 20169 yr Author Did anyone have a bet with the horses that they were picked in our sweepstake? It was Rule The World's first win over fences! He may be retired as the owner feels he has nothing to prove and he has recovered from pelvis injury twice after falls. And also a bittersweet win for Mouse Morris the trainer who lost his son last year to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Shame it fell, through no mistake of it's own, but that's the National for you!
April 10, 20169 yr Author I do feel that the later starting time definitely played a part with how the ground was. The start time actually worked well. ITV have a lot to live to with their coverage next year compared to Channel 4. 10m watched the race which is the highest since Channel 4 took the rights in 2013 from BBC. Sensible to hear that Rule The World might be retired as he has nothing left to prove.
