Posted April 18, 20169 yr saw the first episode of this over the weekend. first impressions: a lot of it seemed to have been inspired by takeaway- their's a star of the show (who actually provides the entertainment at the end) like the end of the show show, their's an audience surprise, fun games- and a couple of guests. worth watching- i was pretty impressed and Michael McIntyre is actually funnier than i thought
April 18, 20169 yr I didn't see this in full but, from what I did see, it did indeed seem to take a lot of inspiration from Ant & Dec, especially with audience surprises. It's by no means a bad thing though as Saturday Night TV needs more entertainment/variety shows like these two!
April 18, 20169 yr I probably watched about 15 minutes of it, and I just turned off, pretty much crap. BBC need to bring back a variety show like they did way back Seaside Special on Saturday nights with music acts, magicians, and dancers etc etc.
April 18, 20169 yr I enjoyed it - just a bit of harmless fun really. I enjoy Michael McIntyre's shows in general, so I'm not surprised. I think the 'Send to All' game didn't feel as good with Geri Halliwell. I was expecting to celeb responses, so it was a bit of a let down. May as well carry on playing with the general public if randoms will be responding!
November 23, 20177 yr This week's Unexpected Star had me crying with laughter! The actors in the cat café were much better than the ones in the last series: ZLh6Ucd1rIE
November 7, 20195 yr CmHj4GFuS04 Returning to BBC One on Saturday 23rd November. First show will feature Bear Grylls and Liam Payne (who performs 'Stack It Up').
November 7, 20195 yr Oh I'm glad this is back. One of the few decent Saturday night shows nowadays that's just good fun, pure and simple! Looking forward to seeing who does 'Send to All' this series!
December 6, 20195 yr Always enjoy this annual occurrence of Michael’s show, the comedy never dies with him. Decent celebrities so far this series, anticipating who will be on Send To All this week.
December 9, 20231 yr Is this not returning for Christmas this year then? It looks like, for whatever reason, the BBC hasn't bothered commissioning a Christmas episode since the return after COVID and have opted to stick with The Wheel as the preferred McIntyre Christmas show (not that they couldn't have both).
December 9, 20231 yr There is a new series but yes, no Christmas special. A shame really as I'm sure they could have fit one in but maybe a commitment thing.
