Such a good discovery <3 well done on your top three!

Good to be in sync with Ashton too, even though we didn't give each other points this time.

Thanks, both of you! It feels good to actually do well, my 3rd top 10 in spinoffs actually believe it or not (first top 3 of course), if only I could replicate that in the main contest.

#AirshipRising

Time to resurrect this hint! I hope Bré's right about the top 5 of course but I somehow doubt it, this will be a risky entry. Can't wait to reveal this though, it's 5 years (:o !) this month since I was so captured by the simplistic beauty of this track that I played it over 50 times in one day (can't remember the exact figure but it was in that ballpark) and somehow I still love it now. #neveroverplayed

Up Ship! - Port Blue

Port Blue is the ambient/ instrumental side project of Adam Young (of Owl City), his more recent instrumental scores are more reminiscent of his work as Port Blue. This particular track is a beautiful piano instrumental with a slow build of drums, synths and other interesting things in the background. Like I said in my previous post I became utterly obsessed with this track/ Port Blue a few years ago while I was doing A Levels, it's perfect for when I'm doing essay work because I find words distracting when I'm trying to write. With this track I'd say (if you can) please take the time to turn the volume up (because it starts very subtly) and pay your full attention to it, I sometimes listen to it while doing nothing else and despite how much I've heard it I've never been tired of hearing it. It's not going to be everyone's thing, I get that and I'm not necessarily expecting to qualify but I adore this track so I had to enter it, even if a few people make a great discovery it'll be worth it.

Isn't this the song Iz sometimes uses at the start of his SoundCloud recaps for TBO to stop them being taken down? That artist/title combination looks very familiar!

Never knew that was Adam Young if so!

EDIT: Yes it is! I am very familiar with like the first 30 seconds of this already then, never listened to the rest of it, intrigued tho ~

I had no idea he did that haha, he's never shown any real interest in Port Blue tbh. :kink:

so much that after the first 30 seconds I expect to hear the winner of BJSC from certain months

I did stop using it as last year Soundcloud didn't seem to be as arsey about it. But yes, I used it because it worked once and so I continued to use it.

This is more than the first 30 seconds though, it changes quite a bit as it goes, and it's pretty decent as far as Port Blue tracks go. I'm not so into the whole ambient thing so I don't often listen to them but the right track to enter from the project.

I guess that will have to be retired for good now that the song is actually a BJSC entry in its own right :kink:

This really lived up to that snippet and then some anyway

"Up Ship!" has qualified for the final, making it our first entry to give us a consecutive qualification streak! As always, a huge thanks to all the voters and of course now I'm hyped for the final! ^_^

Congrats Jacob! :cheer: this has overtaken Bear's Den as my favourite entry of yours to date, I am a sucker for these type of instrumentals

Best of luck in the final!

Okay so a fairly underwhelming/ disappointing result for "Up Ship!" at #34, especially considering how much this track means to me (so I really would've loved to do well with it) and the fact that there were some much higher predictions for it but nevertheless, it's a new peak (again, marginally but #everylittlehelps) and at least we've started our first Q streak. No idea what I'm going to actually be entering next month (although I have a couple of potentials), will see what happens when it comes to confirmations.

Halp with potentials plz.

^Credit to Burbe for finding this one

A bit of a variety here, been searching and just can not decide for this one so any help is greatly appreciated. ^_^

Hi Jacob!

Pale Waves > Nu:Tone >>> InnerPartySystem >> Jazzotron in terms of which I like more

In terms of might Q more I would say Nu:Tone >> Jazzotron > Pale Waves > InnerPartySystem, I think I hope this helps!

Thanks Harry! That helps, think I've decided but if anyone else has a particular fave they want to see entered now is the time to persuade me. x

I love that Port Blue was in BJSC. makes me want to dig out those tracks again LIKE I'VE BEEN MEANING TO DO FOR MONTHS hehe

and yea it's kinda cool that the song that was used as a snippet for recaps has now resurfaced as an actual entry!
