Biography

Ariana Grande-Butera (born June 26, 1993), known professionally as Ariana Grande (/ˌɑːriˈɑːnə ˈɡrɑːndeɪ/), is an American singer and actress. She began her career in the Broadway musical 13, before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series Victorious in 2009. After four seasons, the show ended, and Grande starred on the spinoff, Sam & Cat, which ended in 2014. She has also appeared in other theatre, television and film roles and lent her voice to animated television and films.

 

Grande's music career began with the soundtrack Music from Victorious (2011). She signed a recording contract with Republic Records and released her debut studio album Yours Truly in 2013, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. The album's lead single, "The Way", reached the top-ten of the Billboard Hot 100, with critics comparing her wide vocal range to Mariah Carey's.

 

Grande's second studio album, My Everything (2014), also reached number one in the United States and charted well in various other countries. With the singles "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang" and "Love Me Harder" from that album, she spent 34 continuous weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and had the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014. In 2015, Grande promoted My Everything with her first world tour, The Honeymoon Tour, and guest-starred in the Fox comedy horror television series Scream Queens. She also released the single "Focus", released a holiday EP album, Christmas & Chill, and was heard on several collaborative projects. In 2016, she released her third studio album, Dangerous Woman, as well as several songs from the album. The title track debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Grande the first person in the history of that chart to have the lead single from each of her first three albums debut in the top 10.

 

Grande's accolades include two American Music Awards, Music Business Association's Breakthrough Artist of the Year, an MTV Video Music Award, two MTV Europe Music Awards and two Grammy Award nominations. In 2016, Time named Grande one of the 100 most influential people in the world on the annual Time 100 list. 'Dangerous Woman' still sounding fab. Gave Ariana's new album a spin this week and it's so good :wub:!

Dangerous Woman (the song) really grew on me. The album as a whole is much better than My Everything and I love it!!! I would really like Greedy as a single after Into You.

Ariana really has delivered a SUPERB pop album in Dangerous Woman so I'm hoping she can be having a few decent sized hits from it. Into You is looking set to be huge right now too!

This has grown a little bit over the weeks but I still can't get into it as much as pretty much all of Ariana's previous singles. That said I'm glad it's done as well as it has since it is quite different for her and does stand out in the chart.

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986), known professionally as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He first garnered recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He later rose to prominence as a rapper, releasing several independent mixtapes before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake's EP, So Far Gone (2009), spawned the singles "Best I Ever Had", "Successful", and "I'm Goin' In", all peaking in the top ten of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

 

His first studio album, Thank Me Later (2010), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the singles "Find Your Love", "Over", "Miss Me", "Fancy", It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second album, Take Care (2011), is his most successful to date, topping charts in the United States and Canada and producing the singles "Take Care", "Headlines" and "The Motto", the last of which is also credited for popularizing the widely used acronym YOLO. In promotion of his second album, Drake embarked on the international Club Paradise Tour, which became the most successful hip-hop tour of 2012, grossing over $42 million. His third studio album, Nothing Was the Same (2013), achieved commercial success and was supported by the singles "Started from the Bottom" and "Hold On, We're Going Home". Drake is known for his soft melody and emotional lyrics. Most of his songs contain R&B and Canadian hip hop elements, and he combines rapping with singing. Drake has the most number-one singles on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart with 12 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with 14. He is one of two artists (the other being 50 Cent) to have simultaneously occupied the top three positions on both charts. All of Drake's commercial albums and mixtapes are certified diamond in Canada. He along with producer Noah "40" Shebib formed a record label named OVO Sound in early 2012. He produces records under the pseudonym Champagne Papi. Drake is a member of the Forbes Five, which ranks Hip Hop's Wealthiest Artists; listed fifth, he follows rappers Birdman, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Diddy. Lukas Graham is a Danish pop band consisting of vocalist Lukas Graham Forchhammer (born September 18, 1988), drummer Mark "Lovestick" Falgren (born November 28, 1988), bassist Magnus Larsson (born September 9, 1990) and keyboardist Kasper Daugaard (born June 14, 1989). Launching their debut album in 2012 on Copenhagen Records, Lukas Graham quickly became a popular live act in Denmark. That success translated to the rest of Europe and caught the attention of Warner Bros. Records who co-signed them in 2013.
