British singer/songwriter Beth Orton has released her seventh (!!!) album today. I remember first hearing of her through her guest appearances on early Chemical Brothers albums, as well as her own albums 'Trailer Park' and 'Central Reservation' from the late '90s, both of which are excellent.

Her last couple of albums, for me at least, have been a little bit boring, so it's nice to see this album is something of a reinvention, as it's been co-produced by Andrew Hung from F*** Buttons.

I've been playing 'Moon' and '1973' a lot which were released ahead of the album, but the whole thing is fantastic on first listen that it's hard to really pick out a favourite or two.

1. Snow

2. Moon

3. Petals

4. 1973

5. Wave

6. Dawnstar

7. Falling

8. Corduroy Legs

9. Flesh and Blood

10. Kidsticks

Edit: Tiny grammatical error - nothing major

She's one of those artists who I used to listen to but now keep forgetting about her. Might listen to this if/when I get around to it (Y)

Been listening to 1973 a lot recently and trying to get round to spinning the LP.

Didn't know it was produced by half of f*** Buttons, that's a very good thing.

It certainly is - 'Tarot Sport' is one of my favourite albums of the last 10 years or so.
