How about Hello by Adele as it's moved 100-92-80 in the last 3 weeks, future hit in the making right there!
Have you guys heard Pharrell's new song "Happy"? Apparently it's featured on the soundtrack to some animated movie but I predict a huge hit, especially if Capital gets on board.

It also has a separate version called CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! by this artist named Justin Timberlake who is apparently a good friend of his?

Easy. I'd abolish the playlist, sack any DJs who are incapable of finding their own music to play and hire those who can.

:D :D :D

Since Capital is a commercial radio station, it will unfortunately always play music by the hottest artists of the moment - regardless of whether a song is good/a bit different to the rest of the playlist. The frustrating thing is that there are a lot of songs out there that are catchy and instant enough to smash if they had Capital on board - one example that I've mentioned before is 'Losing You' by Solange (I'm sure there are lots of others too) - but it is like the Capital playlist team don't really look for exciting new music to play - it's just the flavours of the year.
Do any of you make Spotify playlists? Want to link a few? Everyone seems to have much better taste than the radio

Yes. [/shamelessplug] I try to update my spotify playlist (titled "WorkPopNice" b/c you can listen to it at work, it's a lot of pop and it's also very nice) at least every friday when new tunes come out. It's around 200 songs tho lmao so nothing close to a radio playlist.

I've taken the current Capital playlist - added a few songs which I think would be worthy of a spot on the playlist (bolded), and any with a strikethrough are ones I don't think need to be on there any more.

Alan Walker - Faded

Alan Walker - Sing Me To Sleep

Alicia Keys - In Common

Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman

Ariana Grande - Into You

WSTRN - Come Down

Years & Years feat. Tove Lo - Desire

Zara Larsson - Lush Life

ZAYN - LIKE I WOULD

ZAYN - PILLOWTALK

Bearing in mind of course that the point of Capital is to play the *hits*, so songs like Cheap Thrills and I Took a Pill in Ibiza, despite being relatively old, are most definitely worthy of a place on the playlist. I expect a few of my bolded songs will make it on in the future anyway.

I'd like to see Capital look towards Spotify's chart for some newer songs though, as many outside the top 50 are getting very good boosts from playlists - see Frans, Joel Adams and Astrid S for example. These would make excellent additions to the playlist to freshen things up too I think!

Years & Years feat. Tove Lo - Desire

Who is charge of the "variety" of songs on Heart FM. "More Music Variety" I don't think so lol. The same old songs on a loop every single day.
scrap the playlist committees ~ add tracks that the stations target audience want to listen to, instead of what a bunch of, predominantly middle aged, egomaniac talk-bots DJs want to play~ :arrr:

Wow, that is a long playlist! The one above by Doctor Blind is looking good too. While we're sharing then, here's a recent one I made then to sum up May's new music/stuff I listened to

It's not exactly pop all of it, some more indie stuff in there, but very listenable :) If you go onto the profile there's also ones for March and April, I do one at the end of every month. June is in progress!
