Not looking good for Richard Kruse the fencer who is 11-6 down in his bronze medal match to Safin.

Just missing out by 15-13 in the end by Russian Safin. A very brave effort by Kruse who has just missed out on Britain's first fencing medal in 52 years.

The woman's bike race was really fierce in the end between the first 4, shame the American lost out on a medal in the end.

And the poor girl that was leading the race going down the descent, that was a horrendous crash.

I really did enjoy the women's road race too. A thrilling finish but yes it was a nasty crash from Van Vleuten who looked like winning it.

No rowing today due to high winds.

Kosovo wins first medal and it is gold...congrats Majlinda

Congratulations Kelmendi and Kosovo, that's a fantastic way to kick off your country's Olympic medal career.

The last bit of the women's cycle race was very exciting to watch, got a lot out of that.

I really hope someone from the Refugee team can win gold at these Olympics, personally I think it would be the best thing to ever happen in the history of the Olympic games. Katinka Hosszú breaking the world record and winning gold for Hungary was awesome to see as well.

Expected after yesterday I suppose, but Team GB win their first Gold Medal in the 100m breaststroke and a new world record with Adam Peatty :cheer: And Jazz Carlin (somewhat surprisingly) won Silver in the women's 400m!

Sweden also won Gold in the Women's Breaststroke 100m and USA broke the world record in the 400m, I have a good reason to be an insomniac this time~

Fantastic to hear about Kosovo as well, lovely to see a new country already making an impact.

That was absolutely brilliant from Adam Peaty to win the 100m breaststroke and in a new world record.

Well done to Jazz Carlin who was best of the rest in the 400m

Just caught up on the repeat of last night and am very impressed with Peaty and Carlin gettng us off the mark in the medals table.

I am finding myself, just like I did with the 2012 Olympics, watching this all the time. It's consuming ma life and we're only 3 days in

Congratulations Kelmendi and Kosovo, that's a fantastic way to kick off your country's Olympic medal career.

Thanks Iz

Tom Daley and Duncan Goodfellow win a bronze medal in the 10m synchronized platform.

Ed Ling won bronze for GB in the men's trap shooting.

Sadly the male Gymnastics team finished 4th. After Louis Smith fell off his high Pummle Horse.

I've always wondered why they pick him when in the team event you need someone strong across several events, yet he only does the one usually.

After failing to qualify in 2004 and 2008, being suspended for 2012, Yuri van Gelder has been sent home from these olympics for breaking the rules set by the Dutch Gymnastic Comite. He apparantly spent the saturday night with alcohol outside of the olympic village

I'm so glad the American Lilly King beat drugs cheat Yulia Efimova in the women's 100m breaststroke.

However drugs cheat Sun Yang won gold in the men's 200m freestyle.

Remember Grange Hill, Just say no!

Probably just the light. Or they're making it truly Brazilian. :basil:

Diving is truly the most terrifying thing in the Olympic games. I have a lot of respect for people with the skill to manipulate their bodies in the air (and in sync) like that.
