Posted September 9, 20168 yr What Rih songs have aged well or not well for you? I still listen to ANTI and a fair few of her past songs on a regular basis but there are some that I ADORED at the time but really haven't aged well. :(. We Found Love is the most obvious one for me, it just feels really dated imo.
September 9, 20168 yr Only Girl hasn't really stood the test of time for me. I considered it my 2nd or 3rd favourite song of 2010 at the end of the year but I don't look so fondly upon it now, What's My Name has definitely aged a lot better imo. Unfaithful and Disturbia never tire
September 9, 20168 yr as far as dated singles, "hate that i love you" comes to mind immediately, the stargate production is so specific to '06-'07 and i loved it then but hardly come back to it at all now. "sos" still completely BANGS though, 10 years later. and "we found love" is eternal.
September 9, 20168 yr Only Girl really hasn't aged well. Neither has Shut Up and Drive and Please Don't Stop the Music. Sadly, becuAuse the formula is so overdone, We Found Love sounds a bit safe and bland these days too. Pour it Up sounds better every day.
September 9, 20168 yr We Found Love and Only Girl are still two of her best for me - I can see how their sound might not be in vogue anymore but they're such huge songs with such euphoric production that they're beyond such mortal concerns. Whereas Don't Stop the Music and Disturbia are both songs that I loved at the time but definitely do feel a bit faded, their production isn't quite robust enough. Umbrella also seems a bit peculiar to my ears now but I always had a hot and cold relationship with that song anyway.
September 9, 20168 yr Please Don't Stop The Music was my JAM but it's never a song of hers I'd choose to listen to now take a bow too. never liked it anyway tho tbf
September 9, 20168 yr yeh I don't think Only Girl has ages that badly? but then it's one of my all time favs so I'm blinded by it
September 9, 20168 yr I think every single from Good Girl Gone Bad (Reloaded) except 'Umbrella' sounds dated, especially 'Disturbia'. I think that's why I look upon that era as my least favorite by Rih now.
September 9, 20168 yr Disturbia has probably aged the worst for me. I was never a fan of Only Girl but the Guetta sound is a bit stuck in 2010 now. Despite being pretty much Calvin by numbers now, I think We Found Love is one that has aged the best somehow. I think Russian Roulette is pretty timeless too.
September 10, 20168 yr If It's Lovin' That You Want still sounds so good during Summer, it's criminally underrated nowadays :( I think Rude Boy has aged very well too, still sounds exciting/fresh whenever I put it on. Edited September 10, 20168 yr by Josh.
September 10, 20168 yr If It's Lovin' That You Want still sounds so good during Summer, it's criminally underrated nowadays :( I think Rude Boy has aged very well too, still sounds exciting/fresh whenever I put it on. both first album singles are still 🔥 they feel like they're from a different artist altogether tho so in my head I almost don't see them as part of her discography
