March 3, 20178 yr This reminds me of Hold On by Wilson Phillips I was thinking this as well, it's VERY Wilson Phillips
March 3, 20178 yr It is indeed very Wilson Phillips! It could actually be mistaken as one of their songs! It's nice. But I don't think it's strong enough. I think the chorus/hook is far too wordy for a melody like that, imo.
March 4, 20178 yr Author Live performance: NhclLkP5SQg Vocals really are flawless, I think the juries could just drag them through to the final. I'm really liking the song personally, has everything an anthemic ballad needs and I love the harmonies. Only criticism is that it is a little bit throwback and it fishes from the same pond as Anja does in the same half of the same semi-final. A song like this was their best chance of qualifying though as their previous uptempo singles have all been somewhat lacking, mainly production-wise. You can't go very wrong when producing a ballad so this has worked to their strength.
March 4, 20178 yr It's nice enough. It could grow I guess but I think it'll be sort of middle of my rankings and get a bit lost amongst me loving other tracks.
March 24, 20178 yr Doubt they can win the contest. But with good show girls can reach top 10 or maybe even top 5.
March 30, 20178 yr I am loving this now, such a grower! I'm really starting to think this could dark horse top 5 in a Common Linnets way if they nail the vocal and staging, but I suppose you can say that about a lot of entries
March 31, 20178 yr I am no great expert in musicology but I am usually pretty good with ESC and I like this one a lot. We knew they were good with harmonies and they show this off well whilst being modern enough without being too EDM or too American. I really like this one, I like how it builds steadily to a strong conclusion, I almost really like the atmosphere, the sound palate and the conclusion and think it should do well, especially as it is in the weaker Semi. It also grows on you which is a definite positive. As long as the staging is good - I will be a happy lady. Also, I really like that the Netherlands is doing what they should be doing, selecting talent and then throwing some resource at them - sure the video is simple, but stylishly simple. The first Lucie Jones video looked like it was shot in a broom cupboard. They have learned from past failures and are developing a reputation for being professionalism, baring the odd hick-up. Between them and Belgium, I don't know who I am more happy with this year. I can just imagine how happy Denise on Wiwiblogs is with this entry. O'G3NE - you have a fan here.
