Oops. The second single from the album highlights the highs and lows of living in the limelight and was borne out of Madonna's own time in the limelight. She sings of the illusion of living under the gaze of the public and the paparrazzi and seems to be her big f*** YOU to it all as she wakes up from the illusion she herself has been victim of. With live performances as iconic as the Britney Kiss at the VMAs it's left an impact for many, but unfortunately has dropped out just as we enter the top 5.

Are we all still coping with how difficult this is? ~

Unsure as to what to vote for. I have a clear favourite here but everything else is sort of on a par for me.

Considering how iconic the 2003 MTV performance is, it doesn't feel like 'Hollywood' is anywhere near as remembered by the public. I think most people will think of 'Like a Virgin', despite the kiss happening during 'Hollywood'. Anyway, I really like the song. It's got a serious message but it's dressed up in humour and almost half-bad lyrics and production; that seems strange to say but it's the impression I get from the simple lyrics, jolty guitar and vocal effects. It feels like all those things are purposely poking fun at musical fame and Hollywood and celebrity, yet at the same time it actually works well as an actual song?

'Die Another Day' for me - really (pleasantly) surprised at how well this has done but I think, contrary to what the song says, it is its time to go.

Hollywood is better than American life
