October 24, 20177 yr Ahh. 'Wall E' is one of the most stunning films of all time. It's phenomenal. I saw it 6 times at the cinema! I'm just so happy it went top 10 coz I was unsure as to where it would be! 'Toy Story 3' is fantastic too. So fun and emotional! 'The Lion King' is an all time fave too. The soundtrack is sublime 'Frozen' I can take it or leave it nowadays tbh. I've really worn it out with my niece haha. 'Let It Go' is a masterpiece though. 'Monsters Inc.' is so good too. Not the best Pixar film, but a brilliant addition to the collection. Ew at any of the Shrek movies making top 10. Possibly the most overrated animated movie(s) of all time.
October 24, 20177 yr Author Monsters Inc is an all time fave but personally I wouldn't have it top 10 :o
October 25, 20177 yr 05. Finding Nemo 1267pts | 2003 | USA | Pixar Top 20's: CODY #1, HARRY #1, JONJO #1, JAHQ #2, MACK #2, FROOT #3, SEVERIN #7, CHEZ #10, JACOB #13, BRIGHTPLACES #14, JOSH #16, SEVEN #19 wZdpNglLbt8 A young clownfish named Nemo is captured and his father must embark on a journey to find him and bring him home... This remains one of the biggest Pixar films at the box office even now despite being 14 years old now. It is also a #167 in IMDb's top 250 films of all-time list and won the Oscar for Best Animated Film! :o Another Pixar movie dropping out :( I think I slightly prefer Monsters, Inc actually but this is obviously such a classic and has some of my favourite animated characters of all time in it (Dory especially ). Finding Dory wasn't as good unfortunately but this remains one of the best ever animated films as voted by Buzzjack *.*
October 25, 20177 yr 04. Shrek 2 1278pts | 2004 | USA | Dreamworks Top 20's: SEVEN #2, TAYLOR #2, BRIGHTPLACES #3, CODY #6, JAHQ #6, CAMERON #9, IZ #9, CHEZ #11, MACK #11, FROOT #12, DALEK TURRET #14, JACOB #16 V6X5ti4YlG8 Shrek 2 tells the story of newlyweds Shrek & Fiona who travel to Far Far Away so that Shrek can meet the parents for the first time. Shrek and the King don't exactly get on well and Shrek also has to deal with Prince Charming trying to steal the heart of Fiona. The film made $919,838,758 worldwide at the Box Office and remains the biggest Shrek film to date. The hype was massive coming from the first film and it opened massively in most major markets. The film was also nominated in the Best Song category at the Oscars as well as Best Animated Film where it lost to The Incredibles. I have definitely seen this film and it was a big childhood favourite of mine but I don't really remember it that well nowadays. I haven't seen it in well over a decade so my memory of it is a little rusty and it probably wouldn't be anywhere near this high on a personal countdown of mine. My favourite Shrek film is actually Shrek Forever After :o
October 25, 20177 yr As f***ing IF the first two Shrek films beat out all those Disney classics!? :puke: Will never get or understand the obsession in all honesty! Literally triggered BOTH of them beat Finding Nemo!! I feel sick and disgusted.
October 25, 20177 yr Finding Nemo didn't win this? It seems to always win every rate it's part of here! :o Classic film nonetheless, Lion King only 8th is DESPICABLE though and as much as I love Shrek 2 it's far far too high and I don't think the original rlly deserves the title.
October 25, 20177 yr Hopefully Shrek, but I think Inside Out will fall just short, due to being newer and people maybe thinking "it's too soon yo put it so high" etc..
October 25, 20177 yr Author 03. Toy Story 1281pts | 1995 | USA | Pixar Top 20's: CHEZ #1, MACK #1, HAUS #2, JACOB #5, TAYLOR #5, UV #5, SEVERIN #6, HARRY #7, JONJO #8, DALEKTURRET #9, FROOT #11, SEVEN #12, BRIGHTPLACES #19 KYz2wyBy3kc Into 3rd and we have the first ever computer-animated film and an all time classic 'Toy Story', which beats Shrek 2 by 3 points to secure bronze position! Toy Story is the first feature-length computer-animated film and the first Pixar film and the film takes place in a world where anthropomorphic toys pretend to be lifeless whenever humans are present. Pixar was approached by Disney to produce a computer-animated feature after the success of their short film Tin Toy. Toy Story earned over $373m at the worldwide box office and was praised for its technical innovation, wit and thematic sophistication of the screenplay + the voice performances! It is considered by many to be one of the best animations ever and scored 3 Oscar nominations (Screenplay, Score, Song for the ICONIC You've Got A Friend In Me <3). It's been inducted into the National Film Registry and has been re-released in cinemas in 3D, had two massive sequels with another upcoming and has sold loads of merchandise ever since release! The film had many marketing deals and is critically acclaimed with 100% on RT. Toy Story is one of two animated films to make AFI's top 100 films ever and won 8 Annie awards! Toy Story is also among the top ten in the BFI list of the 50 films you should see by the age of 14, and the highest-placed (at No. 99) animated film in Empire magazine's list of "500 Greatest Movie of All Time". The importance of the film and the impact has been everlasting, after Toy Story debuted it inspired many industries to become interested in the technology and led to game developments, robotics and computer animation in film all being possible. The catchphrase 'to infinity and beyond' has remained iconic and has been used amongst children, philosophers and mathematical theorists on regular occasions. An impactful classic *.* Toy Story is the highest film of mine that I placed in my top 5 *.* It is so obvious why this is a classic and still remains hugely impactful for children everywhere today. The storyline is incredible, the concept is genius and the film's screenplay completely shines and allows us to fall in love with Woody, Buzz and co and creates an iconic set of characters that'll be remembered and loved (unless your Sid who scared tf out of me when I was younger). I absolutely adore toys so this film resonated with me so much and the impact this film has had on the film industry and in general is incredible. Such a worthy film placing in the top 3 <3
October 25, 20177 yr Author INSIDE OUT vs. SHREK Hints for the top 2: - A runaway top 2, 2nd place is over 100pts ahead of Toy Story :o - Only FOUR points separate the top 2 :o :o Who's won? You predict, me and Josh will reveal!
October 25, 20177 yr (omg @ these results ending literally a year after they started!! it feels like only yesterday i was pulling together votes for this) Great stuff so far tho, Shrek 2 snatching weaves in the Top 5 <333 great film and my favourite one of that series probably either Inside Out or Shrek 1 would be a really good winner so no complaints!
October 26, 20177 yr I was expecting 'Toy Story' to win! Wtf? I can't believe it ONLY JUST (ONLY. JUST) beat 'Shrek 2'! What horrendous results. I very much doubt that IO will win. :drama:
October 26, 20177 yr 02. Inside Out 1399 pts | 2015 | USA | Pixar Top 20's: SEVEN #1, DALEKTURRET #2, JACOB #4, JAHQ #5, FROOT #6, JONJO #6, JOSH #6, BRIGHTPLACES #7, HAUS #7, CAMERON #12, TAYLOR #12, CODY #18, IZ #20 _MC3XuMvsDI Inside Out is a 2015 film from Pixar. It tells the story of a teenage girl named Riley and the different emotions in her mind and how they react to a new city and environment. It was a huge box office success ending up as the 7th highest grossing movie worldwide in 2015 as well as great reviews from critics with it having 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and winning the Oscar for Best Animated Film as well as scoring a nomination for Original Screenplay too :o It's also at #137 on IMDb's best films of all-time list. I'm super shocked this came so high actually as it does seem a bit recent to be labelled as the second best animated film of ALL-TIME but after seeing the winner, I kind of wish it won tbh. This is my favourite Pixar film of them all and is way better than anything that Dreamworks have done so I'm a lil bit gutted it couldn't go the whole way :( (check the post above for full results!! f*** knows what I've done )
October 26, 20177 yr Author 01. Shrek 1403pts | 2001 | USA | Dreamworks Top 20's: TAYLOR #3, CHEZ #4, CAMERON #5, HARRY #5, JACOB #6, UV #6, SEVEN #8, BRIGHTPLACES #9, MACK #10, JAHQ #11, DALEKTURRET #17, IZ #17, FROOT #20 W37DlG1i61s And the winner here is also the first ever film to win Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, its the iconic 'Shrek' ofc. <3 Shrek is an animated fantasy film based on William Steig's 1990 fairy tale picture book of the same name and voices include Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and John Lithgow. The film serves as a parody of other films adapted from numerous fairy tales, mainly animated Disney films. The film focuses on an ogre named Shrek who finds his swamp overrun by fairy tale creatures who have been banished there by order of the evil Lord Farquaad. In order to get his swamp back, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad to bring him a queen in exchange for the deed for his swamp. Shrek sets out with a talking Donkey and rescues Princess Fiona. While they take Fiona to Farquaad so she can marry him, Shrek starts to fall in love with the princess and soon discovers a shocking secret about her. When DreamWorks studio was founded, the film was put quickly into development and originally starred Chris Farley as Shrek but he died in 1997 after recording 80/90% of his dialogue. Nicholas Cage also rejected the role originally as he didn't want to look like an ogre. The film was originally planned to be motion-captured but was changed to animation after poor results. Shrek established DreamWorks as a competitor to Pixar, it grossed $484.4m worldwide against a $60m budget and captured the attention of children- with the simple plot & humour- as well as adults- with the themes & adult-oriented jokes. Shrek won the first ever Oscar for Best Animated Feature and was also nominated for Adapted Screenplay! The film scored six BAFTA noms including Eddie Murphy in Supporting Actor and the film has spun 3 sequels to date, two holiday specials and a spin-off. The film has also inspired merchandise, video games, a stage musical (which slays), a shrek adventures in London (which slays), 'Shrek is love Shrek is life', a comic book adaptation and Shrek also has a star on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame! The film's soundtrack is also iconic (All Star and I'm A Believer still bop today *.*) and Radio Disney was told not to allow any ads for the film to air on the station, stating, "Due to recent initiatives with The Walt Disney Company, we are being asked not to align ourselves promotionally with this new release Shrek. Shrek received universal acclaim with 88% rating on RT and Entertainment Weekly put it on their End of the Decade List + it was nominated for picture musical/comedy at the Golden Globes! In June 2008, the American Film Institute revealed its "Ten top Ten"; the best ten films in ten "classic" American film genres, Shrek was acknowledged as the eighth best film in the animated genre, and the only non-Disney·Pixar film in the Top 10. Shrek was also ranked second in a Channel 4 poll of the "100 Greatest Family Films", losing out on the top spot to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and in 2005, Shrek came sixth in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Cartoons poll. The film was also entered to the 2001 Cannes Film Festival and was the first film since Peter Pan in 1953 to do so! The film influenced more pop culture references and end-film musical numbers becoming a trend in animated flicks. So here's our winner and considering this just missed my top 5, I'm pretty happy with Shrek winning! This is the film I have seen the most ever, I have definitely seen it at least over 100+ times (when I was younger they would always play this when I was at the hospital). I love Shrek so much and it's easy to see why this still has such a good legacy, it's so funny & the script slays, the voice performances and animated are incredible and it is a joy watching this film. Also Gingy>>>>>>the rest of the characters. I watched this whilst I was on holiday last year and it still holds up so well, an animated classic and a worthy winner *.* Shrek is also the only film in the top 10 that nobody put in their top 2 despite winning!!!!! :o And here we are, finished the results for this pretty much exactly a year later!!!! Soz it took so bloody long but we got it done yasss *.*
