Reading around this evening (fans in the know not RW), no back injections for the last eight gigs and nearly all the chairs/props that were there at the start of the tour are no longer there. He's had a second opinion on the back. Not all doom and gloom like before. Much happier Popstar. :)

I would say that's borne out by his general appearance/demeanour. All seems to be going well. B-)

Robbie Williams goes old school with tickets to his Heavy Entertainment Show tour next year

POP superstar Robbie Williams is going old school and scrapping pre-sales for tickets to his Heavy Entertainment Show concerts in Australia next year.

Williams will kick off the tour at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 20 and has booked indoor concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on February 24, Sydney’s Qudos

Bank Arena on February 28 and finish at Perth Arena on March 7.

In addition to the announced headline set at the Adelaide 500 on March 4, he has added a Day On The Green outdoor concert at the Mt Duneed Estate in Victoria on March 3.

Promoter Michael Chugg said Williams wanted to level the ticket playing field for his fans by making all tickets available at the same time next Thursday (September 7).

The measure is also an attempt to prevent bots and scalper sites securing pre-sale tickets and offering them for sale at increased prices before the general sale opens.

Chugg said fans might also consider adopting other old school approaches to buying tickets including queuing at box offices.

“Robbie’s team didn’t do pre-sales for his European tour and would prefer not to do them here,” the promoter said.

“This is one way of testing everything we have been talking about this week to stop (ticket reseller) Viagogo getting hold of tickets.

“And maybe that could also be going to line up at the box office because I know people who have done that and managed to get their tickets just after sales opened.

“You’ve just got to try everything.”

The promoter also cautioned fans against “Googling for tickets”.

“Fans should be going directly to the official websites rather than Google because that is when you get Viagogo at the top of the results and have no guarantee you are buying a ticket that isn’t scalped or how much you will get hit for in fees,” he said.

“By going to Robbie’s site or Chugg Entertainment, you will find the show you want and can click ‘Buy’ to go to the official ticketing.”

Williams has been a wildly popular live performer in Australia since his first solo tour in 2001 and has been a regular visitor to our shores ever since, most recently for last year’s ARIA Awards.

He kicked off the Heavy Entertainment Show world tour in Manchester in June, breaking down in tears when he dedicated his signature song Angels to victims of the terrorist bombing of Ariana Grande’s concert on May 22.

The concert he has been performing in Europe draws not only from the Heavy Entertainment Show album which he released last year but the gamut of his solo career including fan favourites such as Let Me Entertain You, Millennium, Come Undone, Kids, Feel and Rock DJ.

It is also chockers with covers including Something Stupid (occasionally sung with his wife Ayda), George Michael’s Freedom 90 and The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.

Williams recently announced he will release a new record called Under The Radar Volume 2 in November.

The pre-order album covers on his website show a naked Williams climbing up a tree.

“It’s a (compilation) of songs that I’m extremely proud of but didn’t make the previous featured albums. They should’ve done, they’re amazing — but you can get lost in an alleyway of ‘I’ve got to write a hit or everybody dies!’” he said to announce the album.

“Lots of great songs go missing when you’re in that state of mind — here they are.”

Tickets to the indoor concerts will be available via Ticketek while the winery show can be purchased from adayonthegreen.com.au

All shows go on sale on September 7, with Sydney, Brisbane and Perth available from 10am local time and Melbourne from noon.

I think Elisabeth may well be right when she said about his frame of mind at the beginning of the tour affecting his performance , what do they call it ' psychosomatic ' & as the tour went along he started feeling a lot better plus I guess all those chairs at the start did help his performance later in the tour :P , talking about taking it easy, who else would take a whole load of different chairs on tour plus a couch & get away with it

It must be very exciting for the members of Robbie's band getting to go & play in all these places , & travel in style at the same time :P

It can't have magically gone away though can it. I'm really happy for him that it's eased and he's feeling much better in himself and it's not affected the tour - he's done so well :) but he's had a dodgy back for years. Going back to TTC cinema release of Tallinn - he referred to it several times during that show. That was five years ago? Maybe worrying about the tour can make it worse but it's still an underlying condition.

I just hope he doesn't over commit himself and then it re-occurs that's all as it seems he has busy times ahead as always.

t's a start & at least they are trying to do something about it . A couple of years back I tried to buy tickets for David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall but they were prices at 400 quid each which is totally obnoxious ... by the way I get to see his Pompeii at the cinema in two weeks time, that will have to do instead

So Australia ^ NZ full stem ahead then then it would seem

I just saw a rumour on FB that the Russian dates will be re-scheduled for the spring.

Now This I could believe. It ties in with his saying how much we wanted to play in Russia. I don't believe the lack of ticket rumours. I think if Russia can be worked in around the NZ/OZ tour he will. I don't think this is over yet. We'll see.

I am sure he will fit it in at some stage Laura, he does not like letting people down
