November 24, 20168 yr Shawn Mendes Haters <<<<< Well Treat You Better might be my EOY number one so I must be doing something right
November 24, 20168 yr Author I have a right mind to delete this thread tbh x Just remember I have the power to turn all your Mariah stanning posts into The Pogues appreciation posts :) and Cody, I'm a mod so my warning level can't be raised  hopefully TYB doesn't make your EOY #1 Harry :(
November 25, 20168 yr Still don't know why but I don't mind Treat You Better! Stitches is awful tho & would probably be at or around #1 on my hypothetical hate chart (I think Girls Like would probably get it tho). Btw are you running the Hate Chart in the UK Charts Forum like the last couple of years?
November 25, 20168 yr Author Still don't know why but I don't mind Treat You Better! Stitches is awful tho & would probably be at or around #1 on my hypothetical hate chart (I think Girls Like would probably get it tho). Btw are you running the Hate Chart in the UK Charts Forum like the last couple of years? Stitches and Treat You Better sound so similar though!! At least you're a hater of one of them :P That reminds me it is the time of year to start the UK Chart Forum Hate Chart :o
November 26, 20168 yr "Stitches" isn't particularly interesting, so I'm not bothered about that, but "Treat You Better" is actually very good. But yes, "Me Too" was terrible. Why didn't anyone in charge see sense and release "Kindly Calm Me Down" instead?
November 26, 20168 yr Author Album Of The Year Rihanna - ANTI Not quite a runaway album of the year winner this year as we didn't get another Avicii or Calvin Harris album, but Rihanna's first album release in years was sure to pick up interest and it did deliver. It's very much what I want from Rihanna, her urban jams are always great and she even revisits her dancehall roots a bit with lead single 'Work'. It's by no means a flawless album though, there are a few tracks I didn't like that much which include current single 'Love On The Brain' so I'm glad that isn't really taking off. It does very much feel like she's put her own identity on the album though and it's her best release since 'Loud'. The break must have worked I guess, and now that her name seems to have legend status to it already she can afford to have longer breaks between albums, but I hope it's not a regular thing!! Album in 2018 plz. Top tracks: 01. Work 02. Sex With Me 03. Consideration 04. Kiss It Better 05. Same Ol' Mistakes 06. Needed Me
November 26, 20168 yr Author Television Series Of The Year South Park (Season 20) http://www.indiewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/south-park-logo.jpg Matt Stone and Trey Parker really are geniuses. For this season, the twentieth(!) ever since the series started in 1997 (me and this show are basically the same age as each other), all the episodes tie in together creating a story arc - previously unheard of for the show until episode continuity was introduced in Season 18. With Mr. Garrison continuing to act as a Trump-like figure in the presidential race it made for a very fresh take on the election satire, although the writers definitely didn't expect Garrison to actually become president and are probably kicking themselves now that he can no longer act as the kids' teacher. Although they did a great job of the post-election episode despite much of it being a last-minute job as it was originally planned for Clinton to win. We get some other great moments in the series such as Gerald being the world's biggest internet troll, currently held hostage by the Danish who are planning to make everyone's internet history public to everyone - a potential catalyst for the end of the world obviously. Meanwhile a gender war is heating up at the elementary school but somehow Cartman manages to get himself a girlfriend. And the member berries provide so many good moments, what a great addition to the show. The last two episodes are still yet to be aired and it'll be interesting to see how it all ends. zx4hAY4cGPE "you shut the f*ck up" "yeah we're gonna kill you, member?" "oh I member"
November 26, 20168 yr Author Film Of The Year Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Do I need to explain? What a film, yes it's similar to A New Hope but it is Star Wars done so well and a vast improvement from the Prequel trilogy. If you didn't see this, what were you doing last Christmas? Rogue One comes out in a few weeks too, hype
November 27, 20168 yr Rihanna's ANTI: Haven't heard that album, but I do have a CD copy of Good Girl Gone Bad South Park (Season 20): Haven't seen South Park, I need to sometime. Star Wars VII: Awesome film, but wasn't that 2015?!
November 27, 20168 yr Author Star Wars was but it was released in December so falls within the cut off date. I'll be starting the singles countdown soon, the cut off is the middle of last December to the Friday chart just passed (as I used to start the EOY in mid December but it'll be starting earlier this year) so 50 weeks of charts will be counting towards the EOY.
November 27, 20168 yr We may have not shared any #1s this year but I'll be rooting for Sigala & Kungs in particular!
November 27, 20168 yr Author Sigala was top ten in my last EOY, will it also make this year's though? :o With its twelve weeks at number one Kungs is certain to do well here, though it may not nessesarily be the year end number one.
November 27, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | THE FORMAT Here is how it will work this year. As my chart has been a top 100 for over a year now, I feel it is appropriate to give 100 points to each #1 down to 1 point for a #100. This is mostly to stop myself from spending so much time trying to order it by opinion, and I'm reasonably happy with how the list has turned out. 50 charts will count towards the end-of-year. It is not 52 as last year's EOY started in the middle of December so would have factored those first 2 weeks in already. Which song this year will join this small list below of EOY champions? 2010 - Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup ~ We No Speak Americano 2011 - LMFAO ~ Party Rock Anthem (feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock) 2012 - PSY - Gangnam Style 2013 - Avicii ~ Wake Me Up (feat. Aloe Blacc) 2014 - Mr. Probz ~ Waves (Robin Schulz Remix) 2015 - Avicii ~ Waiting For Love (feat. Simon Aldred) 2016 - ???? Perhaps it will be one of this year's eleven number ones (technically ten as Sweet Lovin' first went to #1 last year). ** Sigala ~ Sweet Lovin' [feat. Bryn Christopher] (06/11/15 - 15/01/16) 11 weeks 01 Morten ~ Beautiful Heartbeat [Avicii Remix] [feat. Frida Sundemo] (22/01/16 - 29/01/16) 2 weeks 02 Tiësto & Oliver Heldens ~ Wombass (The Right Song) [Original/Vocal [feat. Natalie La Rose]] (05/02/16 - 19/02/16) 3 weeks 03 Paperwhite ~ Get Away (26/02/16) 1 week 04 Zara Larsson ~ Lush Life (04/03/16 - 11/03/16) 2 weeks 05 MK & Becky Hill ~ Piece Of Me (18/03/16 - 25/03/16) 2 weeks 06 Maceo Plex ~ Mirror Me [feat. C.A.R.] (01/04/16 - 29/04/16) 5 weeks 07 Calvin Harris & Rihanna ~ This Is What You Came For (06/05/16 - 10/06/16) 6 weeks 08 Kungs vs. Cookin' On 3 Burners ~ This Girl [feat. Kylie Auldist] (17/06/16 - 02/09/16) 12 weeks 09 Offaiah ~ Trouble (09/09/16 - 23/09/16, 07/10/16 - 14/10/16) 5 weeks 10 Calvin Harris ~ My Way (30/09/16, 21/10/16 - 25/11/16) 7 weeks Similarly to last year, the top 250 songs of the year will be counted down, though more attention to detail will be paid for the top 100.
November 27, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | NEAR MISSES 251 Astrid S ~ Hurts So Good 319 [88-40-20-25-40-74-x] 252 Matoma & Becky Hill ~ False Alarm 318 [75-39-42-68-52-75-74-82-88-99-99-x] 253 Louis The Child ~ It's Strange (feat. K.Flay) 317 [92-90-98-37-35-29-39-86-x-86-x] 254 Bassjackers and KSHMR ~ Extreme (feat. Sidnie Tipton) 316 [79-5-2-2-...] 255 Leroy Styles ~ Can't Let Go (feat. Neil Ormandy) 315 [72-83-42-49-47-59-63-82-97-x] 256 CLMD ~ Dust (feat. Astrid S) 313 [39-20-20-33-80-x] 257 19EIGHTY7 ~ Let's Get It On 312 [23-31-41-44-84-x(11)-81-91-x] 258 Nick Jonas ~ Close (feat. Tove Lo) 311 [58-39-44-71-75-54-74-99-84-x] 259 Cory Enemy ~ Right Now 306 [...-19-37-76-41-67-90-x-71-x] 260 Riton ~ Rinse and Repeat (feat. Kah-Lo) 305 [27-36-85-71-66-80-81-84-82-96-98-x] Poor Astrid S gets both of her songs in the section that just miss out. Both 'Hurts So Good' and 'Dust' peaked at #20 and spent 4 weeks in the top 40. At least she does have a song in the Top 100 with Matoma. Speaking of which 'False Alarm' nearly makes the cut but its #39 peak was not quite enough. Bassjackers are currently at #2 in my personal chart with 'Extreme' but they've only spent 4 weeks in the top 100 which isn't enough. Maybe next year eh, actually it's incredibly likely as they're just about to take Calvin Harris's #1. mSxeQoJgPw0
November 27, 20168 yr Anti is much better than Rihanna's previous couple of albums for sure! Not perfect but I enjoyed it, will be in my albums top 30 :D Out of that section I know and like Hurt So Good, False Alarm and Close, great start!
November 27, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | #241-250 #250. Selena Gomez - Hands To Myself 321 points 42-35-37-46-72-76-85-94-x Selena gave us a decent hit single in 'Hands To Myself' which rightly became her highest charting single of the era. Her other singles weren't as good and didn't make my top 100. Watch out for her next year though on Cashmere Cat's 'Trust Nobody', that could be a future hit. #249. Bang La Decks - Aide 323 points 27-25-25-32-75-99-x A bonkers dance track here from Bang La Decks with a mix of styles, their second hit since their top 10 'Utopia'. It was brought to our attention by Michael in BJSC where it gave him his first victory. #248. LVNDSCAPE & Holland Park (feat. Nico Santos) - Waterfalls 323 points 38-23-24-37-65-x-96-x This great tropical house song brought LVNDSCAPE to our attention, and of course he would later have a huge chart hit with his 'Is This Love' remix, still to come in the EOY of course. Like #249 this was also a BJSC entry. #247. Dakota - Long Hot Summer 325 points 77-81-47-36-36-44-68-94-x Dakota from 'Fast Car' fame released her first solo single and it's a nice bit of tropical house, even though we've heard it all before really which is probably why it only made #36 in my chart. #246. Pr0files - Empty Hands 326 points ...-49-33-25-50-47-83-94-x A hangover from last year, it re-peaked just as the new year started but quickly dropped off since. It's a fairly nice indie-pop song, at one point a BJSC potential but we were never really going to get round to sending it. #245. Clean Bandit (feat. Louisa Johnson) - Tears 333 points 50-43-50-51-48-59-73-x Clean Bandit made their big comeback with 'Tears', except it wasn't really all that big in this chart only peaking at #43 but it is a decent song. Expect 'Rockabye' to come up a bit higher here despite its recentness. #244. Lika Morgan - Can't Deny 333 points 64-73-58-52-47-61-60-75-99-96-93-x Following Lika Morgan's 'Make Your Move' being a huge hit in my chart I went through her discography and found this. Nothing truly amazing but managed to sound good in the playlist for a number of weeks. Worth a listen. #243. Lost Kings (feat. Emily Warren) - Phone Down 337 points 85-35-41-40-46-50-73-... Lost Kings have been bubbling under for a while but recently released this tune with Emily Warren which sounds very current. Could this be their breakthrough hit? Probably not but it sounds like it could be. #242. Tom Zanetti - Darlin' 338 points 64-74-92-54-80-x-61-x(34)-86-49-59-53-x This was bubbling under for me at the start of the year, and once again following the release of 'You Want Me'. Great bassline on this. #241. Craig David and Sigala - Ain't Giving Up 339 points 70-75-64-68-93-61-43-50-58-89-x 2016 seemed to be one of Craig David's biggest years ever in a surprising comeback, although I didn't quite get the mass love for him he did release a few decent songs. This one peaked the highest at #43 probably thanks to Sigala's input although it's quite formulaic for him - I expect better for his next single! Don't kill me Dobbo :P pTL_HJlwJRU
November 27, 20168 yr False Alarm & Rnse & Repeat are great! Shame both missed, but I think I will enjoy most of the songs on this list!
