November 30, 20168 yr Nimmo making it in is great to see, I feel as though Dancing Makes Us Brave could have been huge if given a push by Radio 1. They're also one of the only openly androgynous acts around right now. Fake Love is also great.
November 30, 20168 yr It does seem that you like more dance singles than usual this year  even if we don't often share absolute faves. Haha, everyone's gotta love a bit of Sir Fetty Wap *__* It's true tbh, I'm here for a lot of dance music recently! Helps that I've been a big fan of a lot of the tropical songs recently, some are boring and uninspired (hi Maroon 5) but I like the sound generally! My opinions on Fetty are mixed tbh  I don't really care for him most of the time but I'm partial to his features on Bang My Head and Flex  Huge love for Let Me Hold You, will feature very highly in my countdown, I'm sure that's no spoiler!
December 1, 20168 yr Wasn't expecting Good Grief to make it here :o Like you said, probably not as good as Pompeii but it really grew into one of my favourites by them, it was probably my highlight when I saw them live too  It's a shame nothing from Bryson Tiller has clicked here in the UK because everything so far has been great, such slick R&B music, at least the US are being more receptive of it. It's a shame urban isn't such a force here in the UK though we do have exceptions like Black Beatles/Panda etc.
December 1, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | #171-180 #180. Alma - Karma 471 points 49-54-53-55-58-67-53-81-72-65-33-... Alma will feature very high up on a Felix Jaehn record but she proved she can make a great song by herself too with 'Karma' which we discovered from BJSC and has been bubbling under in our chart ever since, and eventually going top 40 last week. She's very much one to watch for next year, I love the attitude and voice of this song. Production is brilliant too. #179. Matt Nash - Rivers (I'll Take Care Of You) 474 points 22-13-15-26-35-44-78-x Good progressive house tune. Nothing else to say. #178. Fifth Harmony (feat. Fetty Wap) - All In My Head (Flex) 474 points 90-79-56-26-26-25-39-60-73-91-82-91-x Fifth Harmony really do a good urban-pop crossover sexjam as 'Work From Home' and their follow-up shows. This one is of course helped by the wonderful addition of SIR FETTY WAP :cheer: #177. Galantis and Hook N Sling - Love On Me 481 points 51-52-30-32-29-44-39-50-... Whilst this isn't quite as brilliant as 'No Money' (that's wayyy ahead in the chart) it's a decent follow-up and I do love their quirky kind of dance music. Them getting Hook N Sling into the charts too *_*. I was probably one of two people on BuzzJack who knew he existed beforehand. #176. Ferreck Dawn vs. Franky Rizardo (feat. Torica) - Baby Slow Down 486 points ...-26-27-9-8-15-47-89-x Ferreck Dawn back at it with the deep house jamz. Though he hasn't delivered quite as much this year, this is his highest charting song and it was released last year. It's worth checking out if you're into typical Spinnin' deep tunes. #175. Madden - Alive 489 points 85-70-84-24-17-23-32-48-64-74-... Wasn't a big fan of the dance producer's debut single 'Golden Light' but the follow-up was quite impressive and made my top 20. #174. EDX (feat. Mingue) - Missing 491 points 37-31-14-33-31-61-73-79-70-90-x A brilliant EBTG cover here with EDX's signature deep house sound. #173. Glasperlenspiel - Geiles Leben (Madizin Radio Edit) 492 points 37-4-4-9-39-53-69-x Cool German language dancepop song though it did grow off me fast oops. #172. Armin van Buuren presents Rising Star (feat. Betsie Larkin) - Again (Armin van Buuren Remix) 494 points 66-51-48-39-24-23-23-48-93-x Armin does know how to make a good vocal trance song which is what he does here under the Rising Star project. Just a shame there aren't more of these going around but to be fair the genre's not exactly at its commercial peak anymore. #171. Justin Bieber - Love Yourself 495 points ...-28-20-19-20-33-55-66-x(3)-100-100-74-x Throwback to the start of the year when Bieber domination was at an all-time high. Surprisingly I liked this quite a bit, the minimalist production works in its favour and it doesn't feel slow or boring. umqfyTclAK4
December 1, 20168 yr Author Hooray for Dive! Really liking What Do You Love & Rockabye atm both doing big things in my chart. Shut Up is still amazing over a year on. Great to see Drake doing things in your chart, he has 4 tracks in my top 100 :D Love You Better was fantastic :wub:Dive is brilliant so yay for that discovery  Good to see WDYL and Rockabye doing well for you. Sir Drake slaying both of our charts this year *_* Nimmo making it in is great to see, I feel as though Dancing Makes Us Brave could have been huge if given a push by Radio 1. They're also one of the only openly androgynous acts around right now. Fake Love is also great.Nimmo really are brilliant, they have potential. It's true tbh, I'm here for a lot of dance music recently! :lol:haha I'm not a fan of the Maroon 5 song either and I loved Moves Like Jagger  his features are quite iconic really, he very much adds to All In My Head particularly. I'm sure it will :P Wasn't expecting Good Grief to make it here :o Like you said, probably not as good as Pompeii but it really grew into one of my favourites by them, it was probably my highlight when I saw them live too  It's a shame nothing from Bryson Tiller has clicked here in the UK because everything so far has been great, such slick R&B music, at least the US are being more receptive of it. It's a shame urban isn't such a force here in the UK though we do have exceptions like Black Beatles/Panda etc.Good Grief did grow a fair bit for me but it's still far from their best really. It seems the only urban songs that are hits here are the more uptempo or memeable songs, you don't get a great slowjam like "Adorn" or "Don't" being a hit.
December 2, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | #161-170 #170. Katy B and Chris Lorenzo - I Wanna Be 500 points 53-18-16-11-15-40-54-x Katy B released a whole album full of collabs with (mostly) UK dance producers, and this house banger with Chris Lorenzo was one of the standouts. #169. Morten (feat. Frida Sundemo) - Beautiful Heartbeat (Avicii Remix) 503 points 1-1-11-40-37-43-77-95-x This became the song that eventually kicked Sigala off #1 but it didn't last too long in the chart itself after the initial excitement of it being an Avicii remix faded. It is the only #1 of the year (out of 11) that misses the EOY top 100 which means exactly 10% of the top 100 are former/current #1s. #168. DJ Snake (feat. Justin Bieber) - Let Me Love You 505 points 28-18-19-16-25-41-77-84-100-97-x DJ Snake had a very big year with three singles released, although funny enough the biggest of those in the official charts is the one that does the least well here. It's also yet another appearance from Justin Bieber - there'll be another one to come. #167. Dua Lipa - Be The One 510 points 95-21-29-26-10-20-55-85-86-x(2)-73-x One of the biggest breakthroughs of the year was Dua Lipa who released three big singles in my chart. Unfortunately this one didn't get a proper UK push but it remains great. It's her highest peaking single for me but didn't have the longevity of her other two. #166. Format:B - Chunky 514 points ...-23-34-27-36-63-76-94-x(2)-42-64-75-85-87-98-97-x Another leftover from last year, this massive tech house jam was a former #2 hit in my chart and made #48 in last year's EOY. #165. Katy B, Four Tet and Floating Points - Calm Down 518 points 73-x(3)-77-24-34-27-26-36-45-71-92-96-99-95-x Katy B we meet again. This was the first single to be taken off 'Honey' and it is also the highest in this chart. It's a nice bouncy house track something she does well. #164. EDX - Belong 524 points ...-8-11-18-19-18-38-71-x Another EDX song now, this one's quite similar to 'Missing' except it's an original song. #163. Diviners (feat. Philly K) - Savannah 527 points ...-4-13-20-35-22-34-64-x(4)-89-x This one's unfortunate enough to just miss the top 150 twice due to the time of year it was released in, it's quite a great tropical house tune. #162. Kenton Slash Demon - Harpe 527 points 49-10-12-19-27-38-64-81-82-x This one we discovered from BJSC and it's a well produced deep house tune. #161. Nora En Pure (feat. Dani Senior) - Tell My Heart (Lake Arrowhead) 529 points 85-70-75-74-62-64-80-81-x(14)-53-22-10-7-... Another deep house song next, this originally charted as an instrumental but recently got a vocal edit and shot straight into the top ten. It's brilliant! WNOmzbDWHCI
December 2, 20168 yr Great to see Chunky here :music: a favourite of mine from last year. I Wanna Be was good as well Edited December 2, 20168 yr by PeteFromLeeds
December 2, 20168 yr Hi Dan I though't you'd be a lot bigger on Let Me Love You too although I guess #168 isn't half bad, I much preferred it to Cold Water so it's a shame it never made #1 officially in that sense but I went off it pretty quickly still too. I wish Talk was the big DJ Snake hit of 2016 :( Glad to see that Be the One is going to be re-released, hopefully it can do something this time around now she is more established. Last Dance remains her best for me though, wish that would get a re-release somewhere down the line too! :D
December 3, 20168 yr Rivers was a great progressive house tune! Love On Me is absolutely fantastic both that & No Money are pretty high on my countdown. Love Yourself was brilliant at the time too, a #1 on my Chart, however I don't return to it as much as WDYM or Sorry. Let Me Love You & Chunky were both very slow burners for me, do really like them a lot now! And lastly great to see Tell My Heart doing the business on your Chart. I hadn't realised you'd charted the instrumental previously but I think we both agree the vocal elevates it to another level :D
December 3, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | #151-160 #160. King Arthur and TRM - Talking About Love 529 points 69-46-59-75-75-64-73-56-49-58-83-85-73-76-94-92-90-95-78-x Banging house tune from King Arthur, sadly it missed my top 40 but it spent a long time in the top 100 so finishes at a respectable #160. #159. Porter Robinson and Madeon - Shelter 536 points 76-44-36-40-58-68-78-100-85-46-38-62-67-80-... Porter Robinson came back with a massive collaboration with Madeon, apparently the only one they're ever doing. Whilst it's not the best thing either of them have done it is a right tune with a great video to accompany it (one of the best of the year, I'm sure Iz would agree). #158. Missy Elliott (feat. Pharrell Williams) - WTF (Where They From) 537 points ...-6-6-6-9-16-69-58-x This kept on going at the end of last year but dropped off quickly. Recently though we were treated to a Honey G performance of this *_* at bootcamp. #157. Kygo (feat. Kodaline) - Raging 538 points 16-22-61-75-62-48-23-43-44-78-x Kygo still makes some good tunes although everything seems to pale in comparison to 'Firestone' (#sufferingfromsuccess). Anyway 'Raging' was an unexpected collab with Kodaline but worked really well. It's more of what Kygo does best really so no surprise it's in my EOY top 200. #156. Armin van Buuren vs. The Ultimate Seduction - The Ultimate Seduction 541 points 74-69-22-11-6-14-26-51-95-x Armin van Buuren for his 'Old Skool' project remade a number of old dance tunes, this includes The Ultimate Seduction's self-titled track which Armin makes into a hard trance banger - very different to his usual style actually but it works. #155. Nicky Romero and Stadiumx - Harmony 518 points 47-47-46-23-14-17-37-68-71-98-x When Nicky Romero and Stadiumx come together you'd definitely expect a massive progressive house tune, and they do deliver here. We haven't seen much of them since though. #154. Martin Garrix (feat. Justin Mylo and Mesto) - Bouncybob 545 points 15-16-14-10-16-36-67-89-x Garrix gave this as a freebee at the start of the year, the long-awaited 'Bouncybob' which many predicted would be a collab with Oliver Heldens. Of course it wasn't, but it is a great future house record and was yet another sign of Garrix's huge versatility. #153. Avicii (feat. Zac Brown) - Broken Arrows 546 points ...-20-45-22-25-28-53-50-61-78-82-x A former #1 here from Avicii which outdoes his actual #1 from this year lol. Don't worry though we will see Avicii in this year's top 100 although he only makes one appearance... and as a featured artist. To be expected of course seeing as he's taking some time out at the moment. I'm sure he'll be back slaying soon enough (he hasn't retired from making music!!!11). Anyway, if you haven't heard 'Broken Arrows' do so, it's great, etc. #152. Coldplay (feat. Beyoncé) - Hymn For The Weekend 547 points 50-30-23-23-13-25-39-58-x Coincidentally we now come to a song that Avicii helped to co-produce. Coldplay's lead 'Adventure...' wasn't all that great, but like they often do they released a better follow-up. This one has some great backing vocals from Beyoncé too and it's an upbeat song. I did eventually get bored of it though and it certainly outstayed its welcome in the UK top 40. #151. Martin Garrix (feat. The Federal Empire) - Hold On & Believe 556 points 22-15-19-24-45-68-76-x(16)-60-50-75-x Continuing the Avicii theme, this song was originally rumoured to be a Garrix and Avicii collab and a live rip got leaked to the internet - indeed it was that version that first charted and peaked at #15. The studio version was released a few months later and re-entered at #60, where it turned out that Avicii was of course not involved. Another great song from Garrix here anyway. LXFZd_okfUk
December 4, 20168 yr Loving Flex, Love Yourself, Be the One, Let Me Love You, WTF and Hymn for the Weekend from the last few sections! I really didn't expect you to be a fan of Love Yourself actually, sounds like the kinda thing you'd normally hate :o Hymn for the Weekend in contrast is something I should hate, I'm really not a Coldplay fan at all, but this one just hits the right spots!
December 4, 20168 yr Hiya Dan I never realised that Avicii helped produce Hymn for the Weekend :o I agree with you that the backing vocals from Beyoncé were definitely the highlight but the whole song is pretty fantastic, never once got bored of it, even after it hanging around for an age :yahoo: Lovely stuff so far :D Edited December 4, 20168 yr by Josh.
December 4, 20168 yr Chunky was one of my faves of Q4 of last year, such a bangin' tune  Geiles Leben is so so good, got to be my favourite German language track of the year, or second to Stimme.
December 5, 20168 yr Author Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2016 | #141-150 #150. Duke Dumont - Be Here 560 points 57-69-33-41-26-35-17-26-54-92-x Another great tune from Duke Dumont, he's taken a bit of a break this year releasing no commercial singles but he did put out another edition of 'For Club Play Only' which featured two songs, this being track one. With its house rhythms and deep soulful female vocal I was always going to like it. #149. Jax Jones (feat. Mike Dunn and MNEK) - House Work 562 points 67-71-76-29-20-18-23-35-57-59-94-x From Duke Dumont to his protégé, Jax Jones got his biggest hit to date as a lead artist this year with club anthem 'House Work'. It has very minimal production but with a catchy hook and a short runtime (just over two-and-a-half minutes) it does the job. #148. David Guetta (feat. Zara Larsson) - This One's For You 568 points 16-18-27-37-27-39-39-47-91-x Here's the first appearance for Zara Larsson in the countdown, and she's had a huge year with three songs of hers making my EOY top 100. This isn't one of them though, it just isn't as great as her other efforts. As for leading artist David Guetta it's nowhere near his best either, but an average Guetta tune is still a great one, and the breakdown that reminded some people of Crazy Frog (I can't get that image out of my head now, thanks guys :|) sounded oddly good to my ears. Guetta himself will make one appearance in the Top 100 this year. #147. Florian Kempers (feat. Rozalla) - Everybody's Free 2016 571 points 31-9-7-17-34-43-78-76-62-89-94-x Imagine Sigala's 'Easy Love' mashed up with Rozalla's 'Everybody's Free'. That is basically what this song is, the production is so similar it's amusing. It's a great tune though and as a re-working of the Rozalla song to phreshen it up it really works, it's so major and joyous. #146. Eric Prydz - Opus 582 points 53-35-11-12-12-14-36-74-80-x This one has the longest running time of any song that made the EOY this year, at 9 minutes. It's worth it though as it has such a great buildup and it really feels like a masterclass of production. It's undeniable that Eric Prydz is one of the most skilled EDM producers of our time and this song really shows that. We'll see more from Prydz in the Top 100. #145. Margaret - Cool Me Down 582 points 18-16-14-19-35-49-52-61-68-96-x This one lost out in the Poland national selection for Eurovision, but to (slightly) make up for that it gained a huge cult following on BuzzJack. It's a very well done pop song too, sounds very fresh and current which is what we need more of in the ESC. It's very much Zara Larsson influenced too which is only a good thing when she's one of my favourite people in music at the moment. #144. Ghosts (feat. Josh Roa) - Haunted 584 points 76-26-22-20-24-35-40-36-66-86-96-x Yep, a song titled 'Haunted' by a producer/group(?) called Ghosts. Whilst it was that link that got me intrigued into listening to the song, it was the greatness of the song that kept me going back. It's a well produced deep house song with suitably minor elements to fit the title. #143. Shift K3Y (feat. BB Diamond) - Gone Missing 589 points ...-52-51-43-45-43-40-43-42-52-52-62-98-x Shift K3Y gave us another great tune in 'Gone Missing', which also gave us further introduction to BB Diamond after she first featured in an EDX tune. It didn't stand out enough to chart highly but stuck around well in the middle end of the chart, I'd still put a few Shift K3Y songs above this anyway. #142. Gryffin (feat. Josef Salvat) - Heading Home 591 points 83-94-x(5)-60-44-32-36-30-29-45-80-67-63-90-72-99-x Gryffin got noted for a few remixes which led him to releasing his debut single 'Heading Home' which got a respectable position in my chart. It's a nice chill/deep dance record although it does take a few listens to get into it. Gryffin will appear later in the rundown with the follow-up to this single. #141. Billie Black - I Waited For You 598 points 14-17-13-14-14-21-50-67-x Ethan often enters great songs into BJSC. Here is one of them, a more laidback song than what he'd usually send but it works really well. Her vocal and the production are so smooth. PN75_VELH7Y
December 5, 20168 yr Author Geiles Leban was great :D as is Love On Me :music:• indeed, although I grew off Geiles Leben quickly and Love On Me is weak when you compare it to the brilliance of No Money. Great to see Chunky here :music: a favourite of mine from last year. I Wanna Be was good as well• Chunky is a massive tune, glad it was such a big club hit. YAAAAAS at 5H and DJ Snake/Bieber :cheer:• Thought you'd approve of 5H here. They have one entry in the Top 100 too. ;) I though't you'd be a lot bigger on Let Me Love You too although I guess #168 isn't half bad, I much preferred it to Cold Water so it's a shame it never made #1 officially in that sense but I went off it pretty quickly still too. Last Dance remains her best for me though, wish that would get a re-release somewhere down the line too!• I prefered Let Me Love You to Cold Water at one point but Cold Water is better in hindsight and indeed it appears higher in my countdown. The super commercial US EDM hits never tend to do too well in my chart these days so #168 is decent, I usually prefer the UK and European hits. • 'Talk' does appear higher in this than 'Let Me Love You', I too would've liked to seen that do something. • I'm not sure how well Be The One would do on re-release, it'd probably be better to launch a brand new single prior to releasing the album to drum up some more hype. Rivers was a great progressive house tune! Love On Me is absolutely fantastic both that & No Money are pretty high on my countdown. Love Yourself was brilliant at the time too, a #1 on my Chart, however I don't return to it as much as WDYM or Sorry. I hadn't realised you'd charted the instrumental previously but I think we both agree the vocal elevates it to another level :D• I did quite enjoy Rivers for a few weeks, I think you liked it more than me however. • Love On Me is not half as good as No Money imo, I still like it a fair bit though. • Chunky took its time but I really loved it in the end, was quite high in my EOY last year. • Not too big on Let Me Love You now, it's good for what it is I guess but it's not exactly DJ Snake's best production. • Tell My Heart is absolutely brilliant, up to #3 in my weekly now
December 6, 20168 yr Author Nice to see Shelter here :music: Hold on & Believe is good as well!• both of those are great! I love Raging and Hymn for the weekend within this section both fab • yeah they're great.
