4 years since the 'sweetener' era was coming to an end and 'thank u, next' was just around the corner! Her star was about to go stratospheric

On a 'sweetener' singles note I revisited the music video for 'no tears left to cry' today for the first time in a while and was reminded of how much of a triumphant return it was <3 addressing the Manchester tragedy and moving forward on a comforting note, through a killer pop song with a stunning video.

'everytime' is racking up alot of streams of late, is it doing something on Tik Tok? This week on Last.fm it was her most streamed non-single and streamed more than the rest of the singles on the album. Randomly delightful.

Ooh :o was trying to search on twitter and yes it is right up there for her album tracks, interestingly 'Daydreamin' is quite high on the list too. Surely TikTok fuelled indeed

Speaking of sweetener - 'breathin' came on this evening during my hairdresser appointment *.* this seems to happen quite often so Capital must stan it.

Since my last post 'everytime' has gone silver, becoming only the 2nd album track from 'sweetener' to collect a cert. following the title track. The only other non-single track from the album to receive a certification is 'goodnight n go' which is Gold in the US.

Sweetener

Always had a real love for this. I still think it’s my favourite from her as a whole album (definitely her best visually and singles wise though). A real moment for her though.

I've honestly never been so crushingly disappointed with an album like I was for this, especially following Dangerous Woman and the first two singles being so incredible.

I don’t know what it is re this album but something about it especially in 2018 at that time of my life just clicked. I can absolutely skip the light is coming (and I do think the tracklist is in a completely obscure order) but it’s just one of those albums I think of so fondly. I kinda get her vision behind it all. I just wish the era lasted that little bit longer but obviously an even bigger one was around the corner.

I think from this point forward I kind of seen her involvement shine more throughout her work. It felt very much a Ariana album what Ariana wanted to make rather than her being pushed into a certain lane.
